Can we get someone to replace Cheever already? There's more to Indycar than the Indy 500... especially since it's the season opening race currently that's going on.

It doesn't help when ABC only got the two races at Indy and the Detroit duels left on their Indycar season. :boggled:

ABC: "IndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndyIndy". :banghead:

At least we don't have to deal with faux until 2018 (when the tv deal ends), where it would be non-stop nascar promotion and probably Indy 500 too.

Their "upcoming" schedule consisted of the GP of Indy, Indy 500 qualifying, and the Indy 500.
ABC's mentioning of Indy is the opposite of Fox's mentioning of Danica
At least Danica isn't a once a year happening that gets forced... wait.. stopping there because it makes ABC look better by comparison.

So there are some races on NBCSN but the mouse network wont tell us what they are since they are not showing them.🤬🤬

Hopefully NBC or CBS take over both licenses in 2018. I can't stand ABC coverage.

Which makes no sense since it pays to cross-promote.

What makes it even more baffling is the fact ESPN's ticker regularly lists what channel an event is on even if it's not a mouse channel.

It is always their policy though, if they dont broadcast it the chance it makes a Sportscenter highlight package is very slim. If it makes the cut it never lasts more than 30 sec.

To everyone who's complaining about the coverage: "ESPN on ABC" should've already told you what you were in for. Have you not learned from their NASCAR coverage? They sure haven't.

I'm sure crashing the car at the end of morning warmup didn't help much.

Oh yeah, that does have a funny way of coming back

Cheever just needs to go away, period. As a has been, he has shown horrible special awareness (as Marco Andretti will attest to) and as an announcer, all he ever does is go nuts over the Indy 500. If he loves it so damn much, why doesn't he just go marry it and leave us be?

I don't hate the 500 but dear lord, he's the indycar equivalent of Vince Welch and his creepy mancrush for Justin Allgaier.

That was a pretty good race to start the season off. It's good to see Honda keeping up at the front. Looking like another great season 👍

Production and broadcast was pretty damn aweful. I agree with everyone about the Indy 500 mentions, it's dumb. They're really selling the series short by doing that. The program director was focused on the wrong stuff a lot of the time, and missed a lot of action; like during the opening laps, Andretti on Rayhal into T1...then the announcers just act like nothing happened :banghead:

Am I the only one who really doesn't like how they rotate the onboard cameras during overtakes? I find it really disorienting and distracting.

Oh well, at least these guys aren't doing every race this year
Hopefully they will make those barriers safer for next year, there is no reason to have concrete walls exposed in a high speed corner like that.

Edit: And tire barriers are not a good solution, that would make it potentially worse with a bounce back into traffic.
I don't really see the problem with that corner. It's like T8 at Adelaide or Resevoir and Mandarin at Macau - they need to be respected or they'll bite you.
