Qingdao, Dubai, Brazil, Mexico, none of which have materialized. We could be proven wrong, but with Mark Miles I really don't see it happening.

After the failure of the Dubai event that was supposed to happen in 2014/15, I'll take this with a truckload of salt. Brazil wasn't their fault for 2015, but why didn't they go to another track for 2016?
How about hopper cars? :p

Anything is possible. How probable remains to be seen.

I sincerely hope that there will be at least 16 races this season!

China could be interesting. But trucking everything over could be difficult (well, expensive) at best....

We shall see. If the money is there to get enough to race, and the interest is there to make it worth their while.... Well, it will be a roller coaster! ;)

Maybe the series needs to realise that an international expansion isn't necessarily in its best interests. Formula One was always envisioned and structured as a world championship, and has generally tried to limit itself to one round per country, with a few notable exceptions. And it has always helped that it had been a European-based series, with ready access to multiple international venues. But IndyCar has always been based in North America and so an international expansion has always been harder. Unless they can get multiple international rounds at once - like Brazil and Argentina (and there's a MotoGP circuit planned for Chile) - I can't see an international expansion taking hold.

It would also require long term international sponsorships, something that is also hard to get. What PM mentioned would make a lot of sense. Get an international cluster, whether it be South American, European (non F1 venues), Middle Eastern, or Asian. Pull sponsors in for more than just one race and solidify IndyCar's status amongst their top national series. It inarguably would have work to do to outshow Stock Car Brasil and Turismo Carretera out of the gate, but put some faith behind them. If you went to Goiania and Autodromo Oscar Galvez, both of them have an oval layout as well as their various road course layouts. You couldn't find better options if you wanted to unless you really love street circuits that much.

The final version of the Pirtek Team Murray livery has been unveiled:

Another one from the "too many colours" school of design.

I doubt Speedcafe ever thought they'd sponsoring an Indycar haha, I know the person running the team was a founder of Speedcafe or whatever but still haha.

Its not too busy and it isn't all over the place, its a simple AND effective Design. Looks neat to me.

I fail to see how three main colors (with only the mirrors and Camera being yellow) is "Too many".

In fairness, he said that from a different angle, it looked better.

I like that Pirtek car. If we're talking "too many colors," let's not look at it like it's one of the Le Mans art cars or anything. It isn't like the BMW Art Car from 2010 or the (and I loved this car) the Flying Lizard Porsche with livery designed by Troy Lee Designs.

Love or loathe ESPN/ABC, they'll be showcasing the race around the Indianapolis Road Course. One thing about the Indy road course is that it's completely flat almost all the way around excluding the oval portions. Some of you who know me may remember me calling Indianapolis as "the world's fastest road course." The actual road course is pretty tough. I am actually okay with using the road course to sort of hype up the attention of the big race around the oval for the Indy 500. It is also a more than decent challenge. So good luck to all teams and drivers competing tomorrow at Indy's road course.

Now let me touch up on the notion of possible international venues and some other things. When I first got into racing for real in 1999, one of the reasons I loved (then) CART was the international appeal in drivers and venues. This is an American racing series that has a quasi-World Championship feel to it with races (then in 1999) at Motegi, Rio de Janeiro, and Surfers Paradise. If you have travel concerns or money issues or something, that's understandable. I am guessing if you want to race in China, I'll usually think of Shanghai or the Zhuhai circuit. It would be great for IndyCar to return to Motegi, but I wouldn't mind races around usual suspects like Fuji or even Suzuka. IndyCar would have a handful of options for fine tracks in Europe. The venue doesn't have to be an F1 course or a former F1 track.

This is not the same IndyCar Series of the former CART or the former Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. But I'm thinking as owner of the IndyCar Series, I feel like I am head of a great series. So treat it like it. Don't be afraid to say something like "better than NASCAR." Don't be afraid to say "better than Formula 1." And even though I watch gridiron football and stuff, I am always a racing fan before I am a fan of any other traditional sports. College football and the NFL can wait- I want my racing first, and I enjoy IndyCar Series. This all mostly sounds like IndyCar selling itself short and never really giving itself a chance to blossom into an awesome series. Why hold back? You got a great series... make it better and show it's amazing. Don't/Stop holding back.

That's all from your salty, little bit crazy, opinionated Texan. Enjoy the race tomorrow. You're welcome. 👍

I can't wait for Eddie Cheever to talk non-stop about the Indy 500 during today's race! /s

Cold, windy, and cloudy is the forecast for today's Indy 500 warm-up race.

Apparently a rather upset Mike Hull from CGR was seen yelling at officials about Graham Rahal's car changing ride heights on track and has accused RLL of cheating (or he is really jealous that they didnt think of it first).
