Attrition. Mistakes. Fortune. What a race! Congratulations to (the Indy 500 winner) on a job well done. I saw the race; it's just that I'm not spoling it by talking about the winner. Three racers I want to salute in this race was Tony Kannan, Danica Patrick, and Ana Beatriz. Tony Kannan, GTPlanet. If you don't think Kannan is the truth, you're not an IndyCar fan. That dude was money going from crap start to high finish. People been booing Danica Patrick with her lackluster season, but I've stuck with the green and black #7 (I miss the black and teal Motorola colors). I'm including Honorable Mention to Ana Beatriz for her finish.
Can you believe that next year's Indy 500 will be 100 years since the very first one? Someone could be a part of history for next year's Indy 500. Great race!
Am I allowed to walk into this thread and argue that Indy drivers aren't the fastest?![]()
Let's take a look ahead while we still have time. Here's the rest of the schedule:
LEGEND:
MM/DD - Track (Defending Race Winner)
9/18 - Motegi (Danica Patrick)
So how many engine manufactureres do you think will be jumping at this prospect? I imagine Honda will be staying in the series come the 2012 season. Maybe one or two others will join in?
Also, I asked on today's RadioLeMans.com Midweek Motorsport program if there were going to be more tire makes involved come 2012 and they said probably not and Firestone will still have the series spec tire.
Toyota would be a nice fit unless they seem too focused on NASCAR.
So if I had to compile a short list of manufacturers that would comprise the engine competition, here's an interesting list of what I think would be possible:
* Honda
* Toyota
* (Chevrolet or Ford)
* Wolkswagen
