If that rumor is true, it's probably a better situation for IndyCar. Sure, NASCAR is also family run, but they are much better at dealing with the various business relations when it comes to racing.

If that was the case I'm not sure if I'd be happy or sad.

I'm a little of both if that's what happens, happy because it would most likely secure IndyCar's future for some time to come, sad because you know NASCAR would never let it overtake the Sprint Cup in popularity.

It could mean some NASCAR teams would field Indy cars if they find the budget to do so.

The only teams I could see doing it are already doing it.

Do you mean...dare I say...a buyout by NASCAR?

Maybe not specifically a buyout, but some sort of arrangement. I didn't hear much more aside from it being a rumor, though.

Granted, it came from a guy who has been having a lot of close conversations with Indy Brass as well as Indy drivers... but who also see's car renderings and says "Hey look, it's the new Ferrari F70!" So there's a 50/50 chance of this having merit.

I have a feeling you could get every person not on the IndyCar board to sign it and it wouldn't make a difference to those brain-dead idiots.

This ^^

I am very new indeed - like now - to IndyCar. I am looking for something to get into following and just went on the IndyCar website as a matter of interest and was impressed by the package on offer.

It would be a shame if anything bad would happen to it.

Andretti Autosport unveiled their 2013 liveries today.

Aren't they basically the same as this past season? :p

I'd consider them a slight improvement. Plus, RHR's running the #1 machine now (With the #28 imbedded into it). I thought that was pretty cool. And Andretti is now running the #25, rather than the #26. But yeah, overall, not a huge difference.

I'm hoping either Will Power or Dario Franchitti get the championship in 2013.

I must say in my opinion Dario definately had the pace this year (apart from some of his restarts) but he has been really unlucky with contact and car issues earlier in the season.

If that was the case I'm not sure if I'd be happy or sad.

It will hopefully be better racing and better scheduling for drivers to run both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 in the same day :p If it happens, i mean.

Barrichello considering leaving for Brazilian V8's according to Autosport.
If this is the case it is my assumption that he saw spending the twenty-twelve season in IndyCar as the best route back into Formula One for 2013. Maybe that has failed to materialize and he has decided that competing in the U.S. isn't for him, so he is now looking at other alternatives?

Although of course, this is simply a theory of mine.

Edit:- A theory of mine which is in fact wrong, as it turns out...

Old news. Was on Speed a few weeks ago. Apparently he wanted to stay, but couldn't find sponsors.

Dinger deserves a ride, after all he made his name in ChampCar.

Language warning with Episode 6.
