Lowndes is the only RB/888 driver I ever bothered to care for, so perhaps him being compared with with Scotty isn't that bad. I just hope his career expands more than Lowndes and by that I mean beyond being a great endurance driver.

Ahem! :odd:

Scotty, and others, can only hope they have a career as successful and as diverse as Craig Lowndes.
More podiums at Bathurst than ANY other driver, more championship wins than ANY other driver over a successful career that is now in it's 22nd year. And that's just the ATCC/Supercars.

I know he has tons of success but you can always hope for them to surpass him like his team mate did :sly:

In the end I still see Lowndes as a special driver that is far more likely to win an endurance race than a championship. It's a great accomplishment to do things other legends have done in the history of the sport and Craig will always be seen as a great to me as many others, but I feel there at times could have been more to show, be it regular circuits or more championships, you perceive my comments as a peg toward him, when it more of me hoping to see Scotty be even greater.

Reynolds quickest in practice 1.

Reynolds could be in for a really good weekend. As awful as the Walkinshaw cars are pretty much everywhere else on the calendar lately, they seem to be really suited to the townsville track.

It's very difficult comparing drivers from different eras - apples versus oranges anyone? There's always arguments for and against on both sides.
I like Scotty Mac & believe him to be a well grounded young man with a bucketload of talent. Even blind Freddy can see that.
So I wish him well.

Obviously, anyone knows this based on seeing it with F1 all the time. But as I said, just wishing him the best and think he can be even more than his older doppelganger perhaps

Knowing VASC, won't be long before they start allowing drivers to do practice starts at the end of each session, like F1.

Formula One only does practice starts at certain venues. I think Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring are the only places they do it because of the characteristics of pit lane.

Just pointing out how VASC always like to mention F1 this and F1 that.

LeBroq gets P1
Jacobson P2
Both tied for points. Could get nasty or incredible.

Courtney P1 at the moment with a 12:4. Mira in the GT3 R8 did an 11.8. Will be interesting if someone can match that.

Whincup with a 12.1!

Tander P20 behind Wood in P19.

So things are going well for Garth & his new engineer at a track they expected to do well at :sly:

Kostecki less than 2 seconds off pole. Decent effort young fella 👍

Hopefully Courtney or Davison can knock those Red Bull cars off the front row early in the race. Caruso the quickest Nissan, hopefully some good race speed and a quick stop will get him fighting for a podium.

If Kostecki can stay in range of Russell or Heimgartner, that'll be a great run for him.

I reckon he'd be absolutely stoked if he can do that. I just want to see him keep it off the walls, stay on the lead lap & bring it home in one piece.

What happened to the other Volvo? I hope kostecki does well, just don't crash kid.

Matt White you idiot. In the DJRTP garage points out a 'tribute' to Gene Haas, by pointing to a Haas Automation sticker which is nothing to do with Gene Haas, and has been on the car since the start of the year.

Well, that wasn't Andrew Jones's fault. Dumbrell is done.

Gracie got a good start but, lost traction on the grass.

What the he'll was the track worker doing? He threw a quarter of the quick dry on the grass.:odd:

I was talking about the Volvo in 18th :( but one in the top 10 is good. Hoping for a good race, no early safety cars would be nice.

Maybe someone should let Gracie know she'll be faster if she stays off the grass.

She also won't get the munchies, will keep her lungs healthy or get distract...
Oh, look. Bubble wrap :dopey: :D

He said on Facebook that his car is decent but made a mistake on his fast lap.
Fair enough but why did he only get one shot at qually? There's plenty of time to visit pitlane for a new set of boots & still make it back out for a reload.

11pm here. Fighting to stay awake to watch this race. I can always watch the SuperView recording tomorrow, but the quality isn't anywhere near as good. It better be worth it!

Just saw James Phelps tweet about that.

Without any sponsorship behind him. Wonder what effect this will have on Aaron Russell for the rest of the season?

I wonder if Rusty will bring this to the watchers attention during the race or post race.

Greg Rust is trying waaay too hard to make Whincup and van Gisbergen out to be just like Hamilton and Rosberg.
