Inside Supercars just then: Courtney possibly going to DJRTP if Pye not performing by the enduros. The Future possibly leaving Volvo to join HRT- or any team that wants him.

HRT's ANZAC livery for this weekend.

I voted Whincup. Its hard not to considering his achievements, 6 Championships, 4 Bathursts, almost 100 wins. Lowndes is my favourite driver but you cant knock those stats and plus Jamie has time on his side (at least a little bit). It will be interesting to see what else he can achieve over the next years.

I feel it is hard considering Brock's achievements and others in periods where the competition was arguably harder, there were more variations in rules. As to where the same formula slightly more or less has been all Jamie's known. Once again he's a good driver but I don't know if I'd rate him as the greatest, then again it's easy to forget the past.

Love this

Compared to the cost of the rest of the car, I doubt eliminating a set of rotors and pads on a race weekend will save them enough money to make a difference. Yeah I don't get it either. As Pete mentioned above, it's really a horrible safety call.

Ryan Story's comments make sense - it sounds like VESA feel that the teams are using up far too much brake life, and that this has been the cause of the brake failures. By taking away one set, they're trying to force drivers to approach the racing differently.

So, whincup, tander and Courtney, being the best of the late brakers, will we see a difference in their performance?

I can see the rule causing havoc at first possibly because it takes a little while to adapt your style. So brake failures will probably go up in the short term but long term it'll probably just go back to close to the same number of incidents because drivers are there to get the most of of the car that they possibly can.

Just watching the live updates from Practice 1 and Rick Kelly just went to P1. Showing some speed yet again, hopefully it translates to race pace.

Caruso did better in practice 2. The Altimas are on par now the drivers need to be. Both Volvo and DJRTP guys quick too, 888 look fast as always

Rick's car does look good out there. After watching the DVS practice, I'd love to see 4 Altimas run in the series next year.

The Pirtek cars just look awesome. I wish V8s would allow the optional 5spoke OZ wheels back in the category. But, if they're cutting down on brakes, no way they'll do it.

What a stupid f:censored:d up decision this is & coming immediately after Rick Kelly exploded a brake disc in the last round.
How much money is it going to save if another disc fails going into Honda Corner with 5 laps to go & destroys a couple of Supercars?

Well to be fair, Ricks brakes issues werent brake related but due to the cars cooling duct being dislodged

I'll admit I didn't know about the brake duct being the contributing factor of the problem but, I still don't want to see a Supercar hurtling into a corner minus brakes all in the name of cost cutting.
If it was production based racing, historics or some other class where you race what you bring then ok. Make the most of what you've got but Supercars? Please
