Their wets are still the old spec, new tires wont debut until Sebring.
That's even better.... They didn't manage to get the new tires in time. They should be glad it's not going to be a wet race then.

I read something about the loading on the banking as a reason.

Sounds like tire issues are a problem during this practice session.

Mostly because the inability of continental to develop a actual rain tire. Hopefully once DPi takes over, so does another tire company. You know you're 🤬 when Goodyear makes better rain tires then you.

Yeah. I hope Michelin takes over because they're the only one in the series right now that is competent enough to develop a tire that doesn't suck. The debris that was on track didn't help the tire situation, but the Contis were junk before the season started.

#66 Ford GT topped second practice, with many of the spots held by GTLM again. Qualifying should be interesting.

When is qualifying?

4 p.m. eastern time
OH YES! GTLM FOR POLE! :D

To reiterate on previous posts, Continental needs to be ousted for Michelin or some other company. You have to admit it's kinda sad how much they're slowing the P's. What's interesting is that, among the two lower classes (GTD and PC) GTD's are faster.

If the track doesn't dry out its looking that way. Second practice had only two P cars in the top 10 at the 6th and 8th position with the rest being all GTLM.

It also sounds like Daytona is getting worse so it seems very likely that a GTLM car could nab the pole today.

Oh yes...muuuuhahahahhahahah. :mischievous: GTLM's leading the field to green makes me all warm and fuzzy. :O

Wait... Wouldn't the P class do well in the wet? Seeing as there's much more df than in the GT cars. Or are the Michelin wet tires that good?

P are garbage in the rain because the Continental's they race on are terrible at best. The Michelin's absolutely annihilate them in the rain.

It's like 1995 Le Mans all over again.

The downforce would help if they didn't have what could only be described as GT6 Comfort Hard tires on them. Also, GTLM's weigh more, which adds to the rain grip, in a way. Mechanical grip FTW. :P But yeah Michelin just makes a world beating tire.

Today, and yes...I said it (the reference). Sue me.

Inadvertently IMSA has caused what could be the start of a tire war. :P

Well I'm going to be home in time for qualifying. :D

Stupid emoticons not working, Kudos on the reference, I found it rather amusing,

Nope, Ford or Ferrari/BMW. Vette sets the cars up for fast race deltas, not quali look at the past couple years for reference and Le Mans.

Why do you put Tracey Krohn in your car for qualifying?

Extra time to practice his spinning technique that he will certainly use during the race.
