Usually when this happens, the trailer gets ditched. They'll find it empty somewhere.
 
Great news that they found it, now put a gps transponder on it.

I think you guys misunderstand the value placed on stolen goods on the black market. Custom things like a race trailer or racecar are not very valuable because they are easily traceable. At most the motor from a GT3 racecar might fetch $10k, but only to the right buyer. Some of the eletronics might be worth something, but other than precious metals, the rest is junk. With the trailer, only the equipment inside would be worth anything, the rest is just good for scrap metal.

Neither here nor there though, since they found the trailer and the cars were never stolen.

That truck is in a million and one pieces as we speak though :P

Part it out. The motor and transmission in that truck are worth several thousand each; motor could probably sell for at least $20k

A crew of 2-4 mechanics who know what they're doing, with the right shop, could have that thing torn apart beyond recognition within 24-48 hours pretty easily.

Stealing and parting out a truck is far different than a car. The market for truck parts for one isn't so underground that there needs to be chop shops thriving on stolen semi. There are plenty of parts out there and most big companies have their own collections. They'd make far more money of the tools and racing equipment if it has any in it then the actual truck.

It says all contents inside as well, so it's read as if that is gone as well. What that all is, we'll probably never know but the team, the police and the thieves do.

In that case, why is it an IMSA approved GT3 car? In what way can it be "not finalised"? Surely if it isn't in the spec that was given and defined under BoP then it's n breach and the penalty is perfectly justified?
 
Daytona shouldn't count under BoP since Daytona is a complete waste of time in terms of trying to figure out BoP when it's literally nothing like any track during the rest of the season. Personally this is stupid, but hey, Aston moves up a few spots. :lol:
 
Where did the unapproved parts come from though? When they first checked the engines, they found nothing wrong with them. Now they've suddenly got penalized for wrong parts and/or sandbagging....

Because it's completely normal to fully disassemble an engine, find nothing wrong, put it back together, and then find something wrong. :rolleyes:
 
Shame...mainly because it's a sour way to introduce Lamborghini to the series and American competition etc. Oh well, as long as they don't pull all of their cars I'm fine with it.
