I gotta say, this edition of the Daytona 24 has got quite an awesome and diverse field showing up. The Prototype class has a great group of unique cars, GTLM and GTD are mostly all new grids, and the cars that are returning only add spice to the mix. I'm looking forward to seeing how the older Audi, Porsche and Ferrari's stack up against the new GT3 machinery.

It really will be an interesting battle in the prototype class. Mazda with it's gas engines, SMP and it's quietly competitive car, the Ligier's with the new Honda engines going up against the strong DP's and a DeltaWing that has been in development long enough to surprise.

I don't think there will ever be a more diverse prototype field ever, bar a historical reunion field.
 
That and the GT classes which are always competitive. The entire GTLM field is all within 1.1 seconds right now.. I know it's just testing but it is still very intriguing.

Maybe more like a winter vacation home. Them long, hard German winters isn't pleasant.
 
RHR must have thought milk and donuts was in that 540 car with all of that indecision.

60 car might have a chance to win this year since Pew has been impressive so far, running mid 41's compared to Ed Browns 45's in the ESM. Pigot in the Mazda has also been very quick and Bourdais has come into the Ford program and been the fastest guy in the 66.

Most of the time he's not on pace with his co-driver or the others. Granted he's not criminally stuck at pit ane speed limit like Tracy Krohn is, but there is a notable difference when he takes over for Oz.
 
I would be amazed if any (actual) am driver is capable of being as fast as their pro team-mate on a consistent basis.
 
I hope I'm not alone in saying I hope the DW team can take the fight to the DPs this year. I've got a lot of faith in that project and I know one year it's going to work... I just hope it's this year...

As For GTE, I'm looking forward to seeing the Ford/Chevy rivalry that is almost certain to come up.

It'll be a great, big, patriotic middle finger to the prototypes if they are able to.
