Absolute Shambles tonight, still cant believe what happened.

if its 0-0 after the first leg how can the home team not got for it and get maybe three or four goals?, so sloppy, gave the ball away numerous times.

I'm just bewildered and of course extremely disappointed.

:grumpy::banghead:

The problem is called Mourinho.

A club like Man U should absolutely destroy Sevilla, at least at home. But instead of attacking and dominating, which Man U can certainly do with their current line up, it's the same old Mourinho tactic of parking the bus and hoping for a quick attack to go in. Man U deserves better. The fans deserve better. Hell, the entire football world deserves better.

Tonight was not entirely Jose's fault, some of the blame is on the players who had no fight or energy.

Anyway, in utterly tedious news, the "Champions" League last eight will only feature four nations, yet again: Spain, Germany, Italy and England.

In fact in the last decade, only four quarter-final rounds have featured a team not from Spain, Germany, Italy, England, France or Portugal. They were Russia in 09-10 (CSKA Moscow), Ukraine in 10-11 (Shakhtar Donetsk), Cyprus in 11-12 (APOEL Nicosia) and Turkey in 12-13 (Galatasaray). Yep, no nation other than those six since 2013. And no semi-final for any other nation either.

The others have been Spain 25 times, England 16 times, Germany 14 times, France 9 times, Italy 8 times and Portugal 4 times.

Apropos of nothing, the team leading the Spanish league is 8 points ahead, the team leading the German league is 20 points ahead, the team leading the French league is 17 points ahead, and the team leading the English league is 16 points ahead. The Portuguese top four is close, but 18 points ahead of fifth, while the Italian league's top two are four points apart and 14 points ahead...

Barcelona weren't at their best but still too good for Chelsea, who actually did pretty well but made a few mistakes that cost them, Messi was unreal tonight once again, the dribbling to set up Dembele was superb, Courtois should've done better for the first and third goals.

And people mock Scotland for having a one team league. Celtic are "only" 9 ahead ATM.

In fairness, the English league's lead team is (or will be) the third different champion in three seasons, the Spanish league is usually a two-team affair and decided in the last game but Real have sucked this year so Barcelona will win it back, and Paris St. Germain are winning their title back after losing it to Monaco by 8pt last year (and it's only their 7th title ever).

Scotland is closer to Germany, in that the team winning the Bundesliga is on for its sixth straight title, with the previous five won with a points margin averaging 15.8... Celtic are on for seven in a row, with the previous six at a 19.5pt average margin (and that includes adding Rangers' 10pt administration deduction back on). But different in that Bayern Munich knows what a Champions League quarter-final is :D

Nevertheless, for all of the major leagues to have such overwhelming margins between first and second - or between second and third - the season after new, yuge TV rights deals is... depressing.

I was pretty confident we'd see 4 English teams in the QF's after the draw... but only 2 in the end.

Feel a bit sorry for Spurs... thought they'd beat Juve, but wasn't to be.

United performance on Tuesday was embarrassing. How does Pogba go from looking so good at the start of the season, to looking like a donkey after just 6 months of playing for Jose? Rashford, who played out of skin on Saturday on the left wing, gets shoved on to the right and despite lots of effort, is completely ineffective. Lukaku put a real shift in, but had so little support Seville could put 2 players on him and ease him off the ball every time. Sanchez... £500k/wk... he's been worse than useless as he seems to have destablised the team. There are some top quality players in that squad, but Jose is killing them... they never seem to look happy/comfortable playing.

At least Chelsea went out trying to win it... they just came up against the best player there's ever been.

City have a real chance of winning it... they've played some of the best footy the Premier League has ever seen, and I think they can beat anyone.

As a realistic LFC fan, we are as likely to get hammered in the OF's as we are to score 5 in the 1st leg and put the tie to bed. Whoever we play. Still, at least we're in it :)

If I remember rightly, wasn't that the exact reason Guardiola gave for not signing him?

Chelsea shouldn't have worn white kits. Messi probably confused them for Real Madrid and you know the result.

The Champions League Quarter Finals are:

FC Barcelona [ESP] - AS Roma [ITA]
Sevilla FC [ESP] - FC Bayern Munich [GER]
Juventus FC [ITA] - Real Madrid CF [ESP]
Liverpool FC [ENG] - Manchester City FC [ENG]

Repeat of last years final between Juventus and Real Madrid.

Some very interesting matches.

Three Spanish teams kept apart, two English teams put together.

What are the chances of that happening, eh?

I could have told you the draw yesterday, very predictable. It's often the case with all draws, even domestic ones, although some teams often seem swapped there to me, as if someone trying to fix it messed up.

For the UK viewers at least Liverpool vs Man City should be a good couple of games for the neutrals, well ones with BT Sport anyway. Oh and the derby games both happen to have (coincidently of course) in the middle of the two legs are suddenly not that important to either team.

Champions League quarter finals start tomorrow night.

Tuesday
Juventus v Real Madrid
Sevilla v Bayern Munich

Wednesday
Barcelona v Roma
Liverpool v Man City

LOVE IT! :dunce: :D :D :D

Absolutely fantastic evening from Real Madrid, and the main man Ronaldo!

Some outstanding performances by the overall team, but who could care when Ronaldo scores goals like that?!?! :P

Well Juve... at least you showed up? Like... you all made it out to the pitch and stuff? Good job in that regard.

The Big tie of this round is tonight, and I'm not talking about Barcelona v Roma!

Well Liverpool hammered City in the first half and scored through Salah, Chamberlain and Mane, City had all the possession in the World in the second half but could do nothing with it, a surprisingly good defensive performance by Liverpool means its 3-0 going into the second leg next week.

Barcelona beat Roma 4-1 in the other game, Roma were unlucky with two own goals scored.
