2017 F1 Constructor technical info/developmentFormula 1

I can't wait for this season. The Ferrari, Haas, Red Bull and Toro Rosso all look incredible, hopefully this is the year where Mercedes actually have some competition.

STR12 three-quarters.

Welp, didn't see that coming... Simple and clean. Looks good.

My top 3 are the Sauber, the Haas, and the Renault. The McLaren orange is going to get some getting used to, but it's not really that bad. The only one I really don't like is the Force India. But the top teams are the same, so I don't think the front of the grid is going to look that different.
If only it wasn't a month 'til Australia...

So now that we've seen all of the cars, how long until Mercedes develops a real shark fin?

That's, unique. Honestly I prefer it to the old Torro Rosso livery. Might even prefer it to the Red Bull. Since they're all out I guess we can post our rankings.
1. Sauber - If they go bust after this season, at least they will look good doing it.
2. Renault - Has an 80's and a Jordan look going for it, two very beautiful things coming together well. Really hope it's fast.
3. Torro Rosso - What took them so long to change the livery? It's such a joy to look at compared to the old livery.
4. Ferrari - Looks fast standing still, sophisticated but sleek at the same time
5. Mercedes - Like the new subtle changes to the livery, but God is it long.
6. Red Bull - Sucker for the matte, need to see more of it first though I'm not liking the nose
7. Williams - Meh, looks exactly the same as the last 3 cars
8. Manor McLaren - Great idea, poor execution, white kills it
9. Haas - Striking design, but 50 shades of gray and they had to pick that one?
10.Force India - Designed by a committee, hideous shark fin, wish I could put it an extra ten places back it's that unpleasant.

We have a colourful and lovely looking filed for 2017

Here are the best looking in my opinion:
1- Toro Rosso
2- Renault
3- Sauber
4- Ferrari
5- Mercedes
6- McLaren
7- Red Bull
8- Williams
9- Haas
10- Force India

Now let's start the season please:cheers:

They already have one, it's expected to run in pre-season testing tomorrow. As with Red Bull the "launch" cars are a somewhat neutered version of the full design.

That Toro Rosso is the sexiest car of the last 10 years. Absolutely stunning. And the livery isn't bad either, though I still wish they'd go back to the 2007 style with the massive bull.

Finally. I hate the usual Red Bull livery and have been sick and tired of seeing it plastered across multiple sports for who knows how many years.

Thank you Toro Rosso, this livery is so much better, probably the best looking 2017 car in my opinion. The full grid when all lined up is going to look marvelous this year, I can't wait.

Livery rating:
1. Sauber (I'm biased, but color!)
2. Toro Rosso (Color!)
3. Ferrari (Color!)
4. Renault (Some color, it should be quite easy to distinguish from the other cars)
5. Williams (Yes, I actually like their "boring" livery and being the only white car makes it special)
6. Red Bull (Where did the tail go?)
7. Mercedes (Solid livery but nothing special, probably would've liked it more if it wasn't for the silver/grey plague)
8. McLaren (Good colors but needs to be refined)
9. Haas (I don't know how I feel about this)
10. Force India (Low effort...)

Far better livery than the same dark blue crap they've been peddling for years (and sadly Red Bull kept it). Best iteration of a Red Bull livery to be seen on a Formula 1 car (would still have preferred a proper quartered silver/blue etc.).

Not really, it was a more interesting take and wasn't corporate, like that of the sister team. It's been a nice livery since then, sure this is better than a traditional RB seen in any sport, but it's also as if the company said, instead of being unique let's promote other version of the same product through this car. Which is probably why so many (myself included) see the blue edition in it. The orange red seems of in tone compared to the silver and blue, it's a race car with neon signals on it as part of its livery.

As for the car itself, it's a great looking car which I expected from Key and the rest of Toro Rosso, we'll see if it's fast enough to be the best of the mid field this year.

My predictions for who will be the fastest go like this

Mercedes
Red Bull
McLaren
Ferrari
Renault
TR
FI
HAAS
Williams
Sauber

The Toro Rosso livery is nice, but it looks like a junior formulae livery - parked alongside the Red Bull, you know which one is the main team and which is the junior.

Speaking of the Red Bull, has anyone got or seen a clear shot of the nose?

new team name Toro D'argento doesn't sound that good
or is it Toro de Plata? my spanish....
Why would they change their name? Sure, the bull on the side is silver, but they're still owned by and advertising Red Bull. And all of the paraphernalia at the launch says "Scuderia Toro Rosso".

Correction: You thought it was more interesting...I've found both teams liveries to be piss-poor boring for the past 5-6 years. ;)

Have Toro Rosso confirmed what their engines will be called? We know they're using engines supplied by Renault, but whether they will be called Renault, TAG Heuer, or something else entirely remains to be seen.

TAG Heuer remains prominent on the side (as you can see, obviously) and the provisional 2017 entry list also names them as the engine supplier. That's not final, of course.

The design is meant to highlight their sugar-free brand, I read. I quite like it, I definitely prefer it to the same-old-same-old "parent" team livery.

That Toro Rosso ... Absolutely stunning, easily best looking car on the grid so far, and the livery just makes it, refreshing after the design's they sported the last few years.

Like the Haas, looks dramatic, especially liking their shark-fin design, seems to be different to the everybody else's. Hopefully they can add to last year, and not succumb to 'second season syndrome'.

Redbull's interesting, intrigued by their 'vacuum nose' as someone coined it. However the launch car does look a little conservative for Redbull imo, but as has been stated, I'd imagine that they'd experiment with more aero-features in testing. Much like how Merc are expected to add a shark-fin to their car (which will improve it a lot imo)

Anyway, seeing as everyone is rating the cars on their looks, thought I'd join in :D

1: Toro Rosso
2: Mclaren
3: Renault
4: Sauber
5: Ferrari
5: Haas
6: Redbull*
8: Williams
9: Mercedes
10: Force India

Highlighted Redbull, since their car may be subject to quite a lot of change aerodynamically during testing, plus the launch image doesn't exactly reveal much.
