About a month ago I finally picked a new driver to root for after Carl Edwards retired... that driver is Ryan Blaney!

So...

yeah...

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Really cool that Fox had Blaney interview Keselowski when Brad won yesterday for the all-Cup crew in the Xfinity race, and now BK interviews Blaney for his victory celebration.

Side note, BK looked like a natural in the pit reporter role with his inteview with Ryan. I know he's done booth commentary before, but I won't be shocked at all if he goes to the booth when he decides to retire.

He and Harvick will surely follow that carrer.

It had to be the season that I quit watching that suddenly the drivers I root for finally get their wins.

What does the #18 have to do to close one of these out? Seriously? Why would you not come in to pit with 15 to go when you're on old-ish tires? It's not like it would have set him that far back in the field, either...

One of these races...

On a happier note, if it wasn't Busch, I'm elated for Blaney! Always been a fan of his since his first run in the #12 at Kansas a few years back. Always seemed like he's played second fiddle to Elliott, so it's cool to see him come up with one.

On to Michigan.

You do have to remember that because of the penalties at Dover, this was an interim crew chief making the call. That and their defense was that track position was too important to give up at that stage and as the leader, they felt that they were in a no-win scenario. More might've stayed out had he come in.

Did anyone notice how the TV camera panned to the stands when Blaney passed Kyle Busch for race lead - and they were cheering madly?

If there is anything that is going to fix NASCAR's popularity ratings, it is this new generation of winners. Actually, there is a bit more that is needed, but this is where it starts.

Just got around to watching the race and am very pleased with the results. Tough way for Busch to lose after dominating, but awesome job by Blaney.

That's 3 first time winners this season. It's only a matter of time before Chase finds his way to victory lane.

A testament to how much the drivers have to exert in a race, and an honest interview. He is OK, right?

He said Sunday night that he was ok, but he also said that this was the third time he has passed out.

So for those of you who know me, know that I've been down in Charlotte for about the last week. Had the opportunity to visit a few shops and Charlotte Motor Speedway. I'll post more pics later, but first off, I bought this:

Not sure what to do with it yet, but an almost perfect sticker tire for $35? No way I'm passing that up.

Also, my inside sources tell me, (Sources being myself in person actually...) that after Kyle Larson, Bowyer will be the next to run the Cars 3 paint scheme.

Seems like you're now a member of the "I own a NASCAR tyre" club too, haha.

Although it's from a Late Model, it's still nice to have. Even got it signed by the driver.

Edit: I got bored earlier today (or yesterday if you will) and made this:

Thoughts?

Is there somewhere other than twitter and Jayski I can get NASCAR News? I don't use twitter and Jayski's borken on all my devices.

Have a right front from the 17 when Kenseth was driving the 17. Not sure which race but believe it's from 2007.

Also have one off of Tony Stewart's 14 car but also unsure of race and year.

If we all got together, we'd almost have a full set. Enough for right sides, at least, with a spare.

Enough new tires for Busch to win at Pocono...

No clue which car mine is off of, any way I could check? Has some bar codes on it, and the sticker is mostly worn off.

I'm just going to assume it's Danica's as it hasn't been used. Can't run the last set if you crash out beforehand!

I don't think there is a way to tell unless the team marked the tire like you can see with mine. R17 = Right side 17 car & RF3 = the 3rd set of tires (Right Front). Usually teams mark them all over with a yellow paint pen including where the wheel weights go.

According to the code on this tire, it is a left side from Talladega.

Bad news, guys.

We only have a 37 car field at Michigan, due to the 51 withdrawing from the field this weekend.

But the charter system is supposed to help the health of the sport, right?

Right? :(

Did they run the "Support Our Troops" tires at Talladega? I thought for sure it was from the 600, be it from this year or years past.
With it being unmarked, there's a chance Goodyear made a bunch of replicas to sell out of whatever extras they had from other events, and this may be one of them.

No, believe they said it was for the stability of the teams. We all had a good idea this would happen.
