How long before Emery starts to feel some friction from the board? Arsenal look rough around the edges and Emery needs to smooth them out...
 
Man City just thumped Huddersfield 6-1 and Watford beat Burnley 1-3.

First of all, well done Brighton, they put in a cup final display today and absolutely deserved to win that.

Secondly, the ref made a howler in the second half, should have been a penalty when Pogba was being wrestled while trying to jump for the ball. The penalty we were given right at the end I don't think was a penalty, it would have been nice to have been given the first one that should have been much earlier in the half.

Thirdly, the performance overall was a disgrace. We should have shown a bit of fight but for most of the game, nothing. We have some fantastic players in the squad, but it just isn't happening. Ultimately the buck has to stop at Jose, he's had 2 seasons with most of these players and if he can't motivate them or get them to give 100% then there's a major issue these. With more effort we could have seen a different game. It's not even about getting the best from everyone, just some effort.

Penalty shout aside, Brighton deserved to win, I'd have liked United to have snatched a win one way or another of course, but Brighton were really up for it and deserved the 3 points.
 
I don't think its all Mourinho's fault, the Glazers and Woodward have to take some of the blame too, Mourinho didn't get the backing in the Summer and it shows, I feel if Mourinho goes this season and say Zidane comes in then it wont make too much difference.

However I will say that Mourinho's comments about City's documentary is a bit stupid, he should focus on his own team.
 
At this rate the EPL will be back to a so called top 4.

It isn't all his fault, but he's spent big in his time here and although he wasn't backed fully this summer he doesn't exactly have the dregs to work with. I like Mourinho, he's a very successfull manager and he's got United into the best shape they've been since Fergie left, so I'm not Jose out and I certainly don't want to replace him with Zidane. The grass isn't always greener and it's easy to forget about Moyes and Van Gaal, but Jose needs to up the ante with his tactics, he needs to change something becuase playing the same way we did last season will not win us the league. Against Tottenham or Liverpool he nails it, but he doesn't steamroll teams very often.

Most of the players underperformed today, they all share responsability for that, but there are players who are consisently inconsistent for United who are really top drawer players and not getting them motivated / consistent is Jose's fault. A major part of his job is to get the best from the players at his disposal and he isn't doing that. I don't want a knee jerk reaction, I want his to recognise his own mistakes and at least attempt to rectify them.

For reference, the difference between that low attendance and their average home attendance last season is greater than the season's total supporters for 20 out of the 42 SPFL teams; and is more than the highest attendance of the season for all but 5 teams in the entire league.

It's more that the match started 22:15 local time on a sunday evening. Most people in Spain are in bed in and around those hours.

Sure, Ronaldo will be missed, but that was not the main reason for so many vacant seats.

Swansea 2-2 Leeds, good stuff from Swansea who played well and were a bit unfortunate not to get the win, been a good start to the season with two wins and two draws from the first four games, Potter seems to know what he's doing so far, hopefully it'll continue for a long as possible.

There is a petition going round for Spurs to get a points deduction over their stadium drama, its had over 10,000 signatures, I wonder how many of them are from Arsenal fans??
 
Another mad kit update. FC Rostov (of Russia obviously) release 'lucky carpet' 4th kit. This is after fans bring in a flowery rug to the Rostov Arena which became a lucky charm after they won the game (after losing the previous one). Bbc Sportski

Wolves getting a point against City is the result of the day, although the Wolves goal come off of Boly's arm.

quite a few red cards, one each for Bournemouth and Everton in their game, Huddersfield and Southampton were also reduced to 10 men, all the goals in the three o'clocks came in the second half.

Liverpool v Brighton is to come in a bit.
 
Nasty looking injury to Everton's Michael Keane after a clash of heads with his own player. I hope he's ok.

Newcastle v Chelsea is on now and its 0-0, Fulham also 1-0 v Burnley through Seri.
