England or Croatia will face France or Belgium. Who will expect either team from the Wednesday fixture to reach the final?
 
That wasn't a great game of football but it was a great match to watch!
 
In all honesty, unless Croatia find a way to play again England will smash them.
 
Fair play to Russia, they have been magnificent, they were the lowest ranked team before the tournament at 70th in the world.
 
Uh, it's over. Well, reaching 1/4 final for the first time in history was already a great result for the Russian team. Still, it was a great game. Congrats to Croatia.
 
That first penalty. Ridiculous. How in the hell can you think about that at that time. You have more chance just punting it at full throttle.

As comrade @Rage Racer says. It was a great game. Not the best football possible, but the sheer fighting spirit shown tonight is as it should be.
 
Some great penalties but also some crap ones!

The third one was even worse, you could tell it wasn't even going on target from the first step. :lol:
 
Tell you what, if there's one thing I've learnt at this WC it's that Modric isn't the greatest at pens... if his latest had a touch more glove from Akinfeev that wouldn't have crossed the line.
