2018 Verizon IndyCar SeriesOpen Wheel

It's on Watch ESPN if you have it.

I'm guessing the bloody Brits are to blame with their wedding! We won the war now let us be you imperialist swine! :P

Edit: Nope, it's just the usual weekend daytime crap. I could at least understand it if it was royal wedding coverage, but this is indeed stupid.

Are you kidding? Over 9000 horsepower? Oh, wait... 900 horsepower. ;) If this is true, here is something many people wish would say- IndyCar overtaking F1. You know, it's crazy just how fast Indy cars go around Indianapolis. It never ceases to amaze me just how fast and dramatic the action is at Indy.

Can't wait for the Indy 500 next weekend.

Pippa Mann and Hinchcliffe are out. Danica is in the fast 9.

I love that bumping is back, but seeing Hinch miss the race really sucks. :(

Wickens doesn't get any love north of the border?

He is an unknown quantity. I know of him, but that's because I actually cared for the guy when he was in DTM, and generally keep up with Canadians in motorsports all over the globe. But pull any Joe Schmoe off the streets and ask them to name any current Canadian driver, 99% of them would name Hinch.

Also helps too that he is charismatic as well, and is essentially the face of Honda in Canada. So yeah, him missing the 500 is big for Sportsnet. But I have a feeling they'll just turn up the Canadiana support for Wickens to 11 in exchange.

I read somewhere that Daly’s and Mann’s cars aren’t full spec speedway kits and still have some features of the road course kits on them. Does anyone know if those statements have any merit to them because it could explain why they were that much slower than the other two Coyne cars.

Sébastien Bourdais admitted as much during an interview with Marshall Pruett on Day 1 of Indy practice.

Genuinely shocked Hinch didn't make into the race. My heart broke for him sitting there in his car as time ran out. I felt bad for Pippa Mann, too. I was hoping both of them would make it in, but no such luck. I think I'll be rooting for Danica in the race.

As much as it sucks for Hinch to not make the race, Bump Day needed this for everyone to understand how vital it is to the 500. Granted, SPM and Arrow will likely shoehorn Hinch into another car, but this opened a lot of eyes, and I think that's a good thing.

There are pictures of ZCD's roadcourse car from last week being converted into Conor Daly's car.

That’s a real shame... Conor is out there trying to save his career in a car that’s guaranteed to be slower than everyone else’s... And Pippa is fighting for the one race she does each year. Makes me lose some respect for Coyne for sure

What on earth happened to Rossi for him to qualify at the back? Hope he can turn it around for the race.

I'm guessing he took a lot of downforce out and the wind annihilated him on lap 3 onwards.

According to his post qualifying interview, they trimmed the car out too much and he was really loose for the whole run. Had to lift in almost every corner.
