15.452 seconds gap between first and second. Not bad for a 7 hour race.

I wonder if they add any recent N24h or Le Mans winners to the GT7? Maybe that Rowe BMW could replace the M Motorsport M6 we currently have in GT Sport.

Well, either way, the race is done, BMW is the winner and its my time to bow out from this thread.

Thank you to all of you who participated and maybe next year sees more competitors, more racing and more people discussing it.

Bye Bye. :gtpflag:

I'm glad BMW won. My favorites would have been Porsche but BMW comes at close second for me, Audi and AMG distant shared 3rd (I actually drive an Audi myself). It's absolutely fitting that BMW celebrated their 20th overall win at the N24, winning the very first one in 1970 and won the 2020 edition 50 years later, too.

One thing is a bit of a bummer for me though: as much as I love GT3 cars, for me the N24 and the NLS/VLN is all about touring cars, same with BMW itself. I was a teenager during the '90s when the Supertouring category was raging, my allegiance to tintop racing and BMW stems from that era.

There is certainly a bit of the unique charm/personality that the race once had before the GT3s took over which has been lost. Seeing GT3s tear that monster track up is a lot of fun, and the more high-end teams and better coverage that have come with them make the race feel like a bit more of a big deal. But as a result we've lost some of the wide variety of lower end cars and weekend warrior teams that used to be such a staple... and lost the 200+ car grids too. But I suppose that is what happens with every passing era in racing. I'm sure when I started watching there were already people lamenting what the race had been like 10 years earlier "when it was still good."

Have to agree, without obscure weekend warriors this race feels empty. Damn, so cool to see those older cars on the grid, which you though would never been seen again. Really enjoyed to follow how Golf III doing and more. Hope 2021 will bring all of it again together and more new faces and old new cars.

I guess everyone had a feel of joy watching this almost road Astra lead monstorious GT3 machines though yellow flag. This is unique for N24.

While I most certainly miss the "good ol' times" (obviously those times are different for every person :) ), I can't say the racing got worse because SP9 typically delivers but as we're getting older, we always look back to our beginnings if you like and I can't say I don't miss some of those races from way back when :)

That was a thing of beauty. :D
