So happy for Chaz and the team. Such a long wait for a championship for both. But even though I'm not a T8 fan. Have to feel gutted for Feeney. What a kick in the guts way to lose it.

Even without the lap 1 incident, seems like the engine issue would have ended up in the same result. Wonder how long they'll keep this format though...

As rough as it sounds. That's probably the brightside. At least the incident with Wood isn't what decided the race.

I couldn’t be happier Mostert, he really performed when it mattered. Him and his team played the rules perfectly, no matter how flawed they are.

Absolutely incredible driving all season from Feeney, it’s sad to see his season end the way it did but he’ll no doubt be a champion one day.

Hopefully the #1 Optus Toyota Supra can back it up next year!

I said that if Feeney loses the championship we should riot... What a load of absolute crap. Is this what you want Supercars? Is it???? Do you want team mates to kick a championship rival out the way for the other driver in contention? Do you want Ryan Walkinshaw to enact dirty tactics? Do you want to leave drivers with tears in their eyes instead of the trophy after putting together an all-time season? I can't believe this. Feeney was the best driver all season long just like Connor Zilisch in Xfinity. Stuff this stupid format. If Supercars don't want to revert back to the tried and tested format then we know that fairness is no longer at the top of the agenda. With soo much good coming out of this category, it would be a great shame if Supercars goes down the entertainment path. Look at what the Playoffs have done for NASCAR. Plummeting TV ratings, constant controversies and the pointless complexity has spoilt the sporting integrity of the competition. Annoyingly, NASCAR has a lot more to fall back on. We don't. Please, Supercars, do the right thing and keep our motorsport A SPORT where the best driver wins... Otherwise there won't be a sport.

I'm so happy for Chaz, but the fears with this format have come to reality. The argument saying it happens in football finals all the time doesn't stand. The last place team can't take out the minor primers for example. I believe Woody was a bit hard done by but that's for another time. Also how do events like Tassie and QR promote their events now? The racing that happens there means nothing.

Just caught up, that's a tough one. Happy for Mostert after beeing so long in the game but that's not the way you want it. Devastating for Feeney but I could see this coming from the other side of the world that Wood would make such a robust move around Lap 1 with the aggression in his driving today.

Again the recommendation for everyone from rest of the world, there are extended 10-15-20-30 min highlights for every race on Supercars youtube channel, very good way following this amazing championship or of course just get the live/relive streaming pass:

The #1 and #2 back together. 🥹

And the second time now a driver has won a championship in a Ford, only to move to another manufacturer the following season? Courtney and now Mostert. Call it the Ford curse. lol

I don't like this system either, but Wood had the over lap and Feeney squeezed him into the wall. The ricochet from the wall took him out. Only has himself to blame for that. Wood wasn't in the championship hunt so he should have just let him go. Either way the engine electrical issue is what really took him out and probably would have happened no matter what.

So much going on in that Wood/Feeney incident that I think it was play on. I've seen similar incidents go the other way. Sometimes they use 'there was overlap' and other times they use 'he wasn't at the b-pillar' so it's no wonder there's confusion, and it seems to be who you are and what team you're in that determines which rule they use.

Every man and their dog knew RW was going to have a crack (just remember, he does this every race on the first lap, not just this one), so Feeney could've left a bit more room and opened the steering rather than trying to squeeze a car that clearly had nowhere else to go once it was in there. And it's not like Ryan Wood isn't this aggressive at the start of every single race, not just this one.

In the end it made no difference, and while I'm sad for Broc, because any other year he would've been champion, I'm happy for Chaz. He'll make a great champion and I think having the number 1 on the door of a Toyota could help the championship gain popularity with the younger folk.

And Ford screwed over once again with the number 1 plate? C'est la vie. I understood it when JC moved to Holden, and it doesn't bother me this time either... it was still won in a Ford (and which brand wins means less and less these days).

It wouldn't have mattered if the points system was the same as every other year...

Confirmed after the Gala last night.
We're partying like it's 1999 all over again.
