Stanaway prior to Bathurst. "I have a two year deal with PremiAir. I'll be with them next year"

PremiAir. "Yeah, about that."

Could be a little awkward in that garage for the rest of the year.

The cynic in me sees these two stories posted on the same day and is now assuming Mostert in the 4th T8 entry in 2027. Think he was linked to T8 back around the time SVG was leaving? Fingers crossed the Toyota is competitive next year. 😅

#RIP to one of the true icons and characters of Aussie motorsport.

Someone on the GM side needs to do a GRM style retro livery before the season is done.

I visited GRM back in 2014

Garry really was influential. He did soo much for Australian motorsport.

And 10 drivers suddenly become 9. Don't think DJR can repair Brodie's car in the next three and half hours. That was a mammoth hit.

Edit: Yeah, that car is done for the weekend. Probably.

Hopefully the people behind the barrier are okay.

The speed these guys are carrying through the beachside chicane this weekend is insane.

There's going to be a big multi-car wreck there at some point this weekend. Edit: The beach chicanes.

Man, Wood has no luck. Third time this year he's had an issue with the car when leading a race.

See this is the difference between finals in motor racing, and finals in regular sports. In the footy, it's all about your performance, you typically can't get taken out of contention from somebody else's nonsense.

Interesting fact I'm not sure has been mentioned on the telecast. Kai Allen has never raced on the GC track before this weekend.

Ojeda to replace Stanaway for the final rounds.

Obviously there is some attitude problems with Richie. But still if I'm a team principal, he's near top of my list for co-drivers next year. You could do far worse.

but I'm a bit bemused that Todd Hazelwood's name doesn't seem to be in the mix for the seat.
Yeah, it's surprising that his name is not even mentioned. But I guess DJR have lined up Rylan Gray to make up for letting Kai Allen walk.

It feels like a changing of the guard is slowly unfolding. If you haven’t been following the last few seasons, next year’s grid will be almost unrecognisable. Great opportunity for all the newcomers though, it’s not often so may seats become available.

I was more surprised Will Brown is the current champion. Not so much for Kostecki because he seemed like veteran V8 racer. That was quick for Brown.

Yeah, when was the last time there were 5 rookies on the grid in a season (assuming Zac Bates gets the other MSR seat)? Definitely cool to see but as I am only a few months older than Dave Reynolds. I'm going to need him to stay around full time for a few more years. Just so I don't feel completely ancient. 😅

Will Brown seems like a genuinely good dude, and I think he's somebody Supercars could use to promote the sport a little better, but to be honest I think he's a little overrated by being champion last year, which sounds ridiculous I know. I've always found him to be a good there or thereabouts driver, but missing the edge of Kostecki or Feeney.

I’m iffy about him. When he was in TCR, wasn’t very fan friendly when I met him. It wasn’t even hectic. Just a chilled out time.

Two drivers with the worst possible luck in the same car. What could possibly go wrong?

In all seriousness. Wood/Evans is a good pairing. Chaz is a bit of an odd man out at Walkinshaw now, being surrounded by Kiwis. lol

Great livery.
Yeah, I wasn't sure about it at first but it actually works really well with the shape of the Mustang. Castrol have been killing it with the retro liveries the past couple of years.

What could have been if Wood didn't have that fuel issue at GC. Would have made for a really interesting race today. Wherever now he'll obviously let Chaz past the first moment he gets. I hate the team orders but it's understandable in this kind of situation.

Yeah, I feel for Woody. He has been pretty unlucky this year but it’s been exciting to see his pace improve over the year. I am looking forward to him being a bit of an annoyance for the remaining finalists.

Speaking of improved pace, Kai Allen is really coming on strong. It feels a bit similar to Matt Payne’s rise a few years back, maybe expect a first win at the Adelaide Grand Final?

Sidenote, the Adelaide Street Circuit will be making its way to iRacing in the Season 1 2026 update due in a few weeks. Relatively elusive in sim racing, it’s going to be exciting to finally experience a laser scanned recreation of the track.
