So Broc Feeney wins the Sprint Cup, if anyone cares (considering there’s only been a handful of posts since his mid-season domination began, I think maybe not).
Honestly, I keep forgetting the Sprint Cup is even a thing. They picked a good year to introduce the finals system though because at least the first couple of races of the finals series will be interesting. If they didn't have it, may as well give the trophy to Broc now.

Triple 8 have a tendency to bin it at Bathurst. The Bend and Surfers could be anyone’s game based on previous years but Feeney is strong in Adelaide. So, yeah, there’s still hope but at the moment it’s getting a it boring seeing the same person on the top step each round.

And honestly, I forgot about the Sprint Cup until they mentioned it this weekend.

Edit: I should say, fair game to Broc though. He’s performing amazingly. Just wish maybe he would park it for a weekend and give someone else a chance!

Also a good time to point out I out qualified this guy in an MX-5 race at Winton last year on iRacing! He didn’t complete the race so I beat him on a technicality (and finished miles behind Kostecki and Stanaway in the same race).

I guess no more penalties for spinning tires on a pit stop? Or are we ignoring it because it's Triple 8?
It would be the second time this season so far... and one for releasing the speed limiter to early in pit lane... and so on and so on.

Would've liked to see a replay of what looked to be bump and run by Brown on (I think) ADP too... and at the very least a replay of what fired Wood up when Brown overtook him.

Edit:About time...

... and I noticed someone in the comments had a similar opinion to mine about the Brown vs ADP incident as well. Cant' really comment on the Brown vs Wood one though as it was never shown... as usual
''What about when Brown did tap and run on both De Pasquale and Wood.
No penalties given. Protected species.''

I think they finally did something because social media was blowing up about it.

I also think the 5 second penalty for Brock jumping the start was a slap on the wrist. Hasn't that been a drive through in the past?

They do tend to look at these penalties after the race because it can be caused by malfunctioning control parts, like what (apparently) happened to Brown last time... but I'm sceptical that's what happened (it would be pretty easy to overpower a 20 bar brake system with 600+ ponies). I'm pretty sure it was the same as this time, Brown was just to eager. It's not like he has form or anything (two x PL spinning wheels and an early release of the speed limiter) :sly:

Edit: What surprised me about this time was there was no acknowledgement it was going to be looked at... at all.

It used to be but hasn't been for a while now, and to be honest, a drive through for a slight jump was a bit over the top, hence they changed it. Five seconds in this case IMHO was about right considering it didn't really have any major effect on the start.

My opinion on the Supra: Looks good, except for some reason the front quarter view looks weird to me. Makes the rear fenders look huge. But when viewed from the rear quarter it looks great. Maybe the sticker is playing tricks with my eyes?

Same thing that made the Mustang look weird. It's the proportions. This time, they had to stretch the Supra to fit. Makes it look like a limo.
Plus, it's on 18" wheels and not 19". I think the 2L model have 18, but obviously it's on the standard short wheelbase.

We'll see how it looks in a bright colour that can't hide the shape.

Yeah, will reserve final judgment until we see it with some actual liveries. Don't mind the proportions though. They've done a rather good job making it fit the Gen3 chassis.

I have the same issue with it as @CodeRedR51... the huge rear quarters. That, and I've never really liked the front of the Supra so it's not a real looker IMHO.

WAU will have to change up their standard livery pattern for this car as the Boss Mustang style side stripping will probably look awful with this shape. It'll be interested to see what they can do with it to hide the odd proportions, but as long as it's given a red hot parity go I'm not fussed by the looks, coz that engine note from the earlier video was a dead set winner.

Super GT GT500 teams do wonders with the Supra liveries. So do the Super Taikyu and various GT4 teams around the globe.

One livery Id like to see on the Supra is the Snowy River sponsorship from James Courtney. Just to see how it's look. I like the colour combination.

Looks good moving and sounds good too.

Wonder how long it'll be before BJR gets one of theirs out on the track.

All i hope is parity won't be a major issue. Let's face it it will face some issues for sure but hopefully it's not significant. Like how the Ford teams don't know what their Bathurst package will look like and we're a month out from going there.

Well, shouldn’t be any complaints about its looks. Pretty much a Supra 2+2 in size. At least there will be a good amount on track.

Looks fantastic, so cool seeing it use the FT-1 front end, looks very pointed on track.

I think they’ve done very well regarding the proportions, it’s obvious that it’s bigger than the road car, but nothing looks particularly odd or out of place. Night and day compared to the Gen2 Mustang.

For all its pros and cons, the Gen3 cars, especially now with the Supra, are as good as the V8s have looked since the the VE and FG imo.

Big 90s vibes from the Tickford wildcard, with the World Gym logo and rainbow gradient.

Otherwise struggling to care for this weekend, and I’ve been more enthusiastic this year than many. The Bend is just so plain, beyond the first sector it’s just a completely uninteresting circuit to watch on TV. Also the circuit itself are far too forgiving for an endurance race, part of the endurance at Bathurst, Sandown etc is the track itself.

I don’t hate The Bend but I do think it suffers from the same issue a lot of other new race tracks have, in that they seem to be designed to trip drivers up in order to create on-track action rather than having a good flow to them.

I watching YouTube and a Supercars video pops up with Larko explaining parity. Can’t believe it’s still going on.

Supercars really need to review their fuel coupling. It really shouldn't be affecting results as much as it does, and I'd hate to see a championship be lost because of it in Adelaide... for anyone!

While I can't say I'm too unhappy with the Feeney/Whincup duo suffering from a little bad luck, I find it frustrating that it's just another issue that appears to be getting brushed off by Supercars.

As someone that came into the series after T8 had already switched to Holden/GM, this is going to take some getting used to.
