Yeah it’s not as good as the £7 Eurosport subscription I used to pay!
 
Wow.

I contacted Discovery+ and they came back to me to say that "Ads allow us to offer you the best prices"...

**** off with that. They've advertised their Premium service as Ad free (£31 a month), and I've requested an immediate refund. 3 ad breaks in the first 50 minutes... pathetic.

I should have known better - I've now got an FIA WEC app subscription, and have demanded a refund from Discovery+.

I just heard on the practice feed that the #6 Porsche 963 was just DQ'd from Qualifying, meaning that the #009 Valkyrie will be running in Hyperpole!

But it also means that Peugeot is the only brand that won't make it to the Hyperpole. That's embarassing.

#6 can still win it, with the current safety car rules
 
As a Toyota and Peugeot fan, I might as well switch off.
 
I know it's a marathon, not a sprint, but for all that everyone 🤬s on BOP having seven different marques into the top 15 hyperpole (and the top four all different) and nine different marques into the top 12 hyperpole* (and the top eight all different) is... quite something.


*I find things more amusing if "hyperpole" is pronounced to rhyme with "hyperbole".

When I look back, I realize that some very close editions had much bigger gaps than those we have in this first 2025 qualifying session. If there aren't too many interruptions / SC this time, the race could be epic!

There was a risk of thunderstorms a few days ago, but it shifted to the night from Friday to Saturday. The only risk (but who knows...) is that the track will be washed out before the race and lose some of its grip.
 
Hyperpole 1 starts in 5 minutes.

Gutted that the #6 Penske Porsche is not in the running; they were my favourites to win overall, but not any more sadly :(

As JB has said this is likely his final year as a full-time driver I hope he & the Jota Caddy crew can spring a bit of an upset. At least get on the podium.
