Rivals are known to be far from pleased. Some say the adjustment could be worth as much as two - three tenths a lap at Bathurst; others have even suggested it was only approved amid alleged GM threats to walk away.

Its just funny to me. Toyota has had comparable results to GM this year. 3 wins and 5 podiums vs GM's 2 wins and 3 podiums. Yet GM have had three tweaks now, while Toyota has had nothing. And I get it that they are waiting to see what the new B-Spec engine brings for the Supra's but it does reek a bit of politics.

*Also again, as if the Camaro needed anymore of a speed advantage at Bathurst.

Its just funny to me. Toyota has had comparable results to GM this year. 3 wins and 5 podiums vs GM's 2 wins and 3 podiums. Yet GM have had three tweaks now, while Toyota has had nothing. And I get it that they are waiting to see what the new B-Spec engine brings for the Supra's but it does reek a bit of politics.

I thought we were passed (past?) this crap. I'm sick of GM getting preferential treatment when the chips are down. Remember all the BS in 2019 when Ford introduced the Gen 2 Mustang? This sort of politicing has the potential to kill the positive momentum that the series has gained recently. I don't watch Supercars as much anymore because I don't want to waste my afternoon in front of the TV, but when I do watch it I'm almost always satisfied with the racing product. Let's not use "sporting parity" to "artificially" bring the cars closer. That's not what this competition is all about.

It's gotten to the stage that for me, I'm just not that interested anymore... and this round of parity crap just drives it home.

I used to plan my weekends around the Supercars series with barbeques and mates around for the main Sunday race every time, but now I don't even have a Bathurst barbie anymore.

Instead, this weekend I'm helping my brother get my (as of later today ex) GT-P driveable so he can take it to it's new home, when the racing is in my home state! If we get everything done early I might watch the race... or not. That's just how I feel about it atm.

I feel my time will be much better spent joining a club for my new car that arrives next week and maybe getting some track time in that. Sunday cruises will be the new norm instead of the religious Sunday Supercars that have been part of my life since the 70's. It's sad really.

I highly recommend cruising over watching supercars tv. Since getting my MX-5, my time is well spent with me and my wife taking our cars to local gatherings. I’ve honestly watched more Group A and Super Touring ATCC than current Supercars racing.

Now that one of my brothers-in-law lives in Cowra I’m planning to do trips for the 12H over the 1000.

This part doesn't bother me as long as the other makes have an equal chance of winning... if they're good enough... which they're not... except WAU.

If it's four or five different teams winning in one brand car, like this season, with a couple of outlier wins from the other manufacturer, I'm fine with it. Handing out parity adjustments based on a brands (lack of) performance is BoP, something this category isn't supposed to be, I'm not okay with.

I'm more of a Ford fan but I have a soft spot for the red side. Many, many of my cars have been Holdens, as have some of my all time favourite cars. My daily driver is an supercharged LSA powered HSV

That was some of why I loved the series. Underdog teams having a shot. Even if by shear luck like Luke(Lucas? Luke?) Dumbrell Motorsport, Tekno, any other team than T8 and TICKFORDFPRFPV won a race.

Just to add to my previous comment, the top ten numbers weren't that different last year. It was all Fords and two GM's, but the two GM's were doing nearly all of the winning, I could be wrong but I don't recall you being vocal about that lopsidedness.

Totally understand that. As frustrating as Supercars has been, especially during this Gen3 era. I still make sure to try and catch as much of the rounds as I can. Sport and video games are my escape from how awful everything in the world is seemingly becoming.

Yeah, you have thought that there would have been some sort of statement from Walkinshaw TWG* at least. And fun that Supercars have happily agreed to make the Camaro basically illegal now. Surely they knew that would come back to bite them? 😅

*Sidenote. I foresee another name change for them coming in the near future with how shady the guy behind TWG seems. lol

Totally understand that. As frustrating as Supercars has been, especially during this Gen3 era. I still make sure to try and catch as much of the rounds as I can. Sport and video games are my escape from how awful everything in the world is seemingly becoming.

I haven't been playing any where near as mush video games of late, but that'll probably change when GTA 6 comes out, and I have plenty of other motorsports I follow.

I'm a motor cycle and dirt track nut as well as a car one so I have MotoGP, World Superbikes, Isle of Man TT, Speedway GP and then there's F1, Nascar, WRC, Sprintcars etc etc so Supercars isn't really that much to lose.

I'll still watch bit's and pieces when I can fit it in, but the full on passion for it has gone. Today when we're working on the GT-P I'll still have the TV in the bar on, so it will be on the background but easily visible from where the GT-P is parked.

And the GT-P is making way for a certain Pony, I assume? 👍

Yes, a very Dark Horse . I'm hoping to pick it up Tuesday of next week. Really wish I had a bigger garage so I could've kept the GT-P, but the paper works done now and at least it's staying in the family (and I have first buy back option).

I don't watch much Motorsport outside of Supercars honestly. Lost interest in NASCAR ages ago. Used to watch European GT3 on YouTube but it's been paywalled down here now thanks to Kayo deciding to buy the rights.

Yeah, I'm still subscribed to it but the races are region locked sadly. All we get down here without a VPN are qualifying and the race highlights.

At least Super GT are kind enough to put the full replay of the races up after the fact. Even if it's not in English. lol

Firefox has a free one too. But I prefer watching YT on my TV.

The short track is a good choice but I think they could've done a bit more to the present the track a little better where the diversion from the normal track to short track is. Looks a little silly driving over the track lines of the other corner, and its pretty odd the way the track actually narrows on the outside, its a bit counterintuitive for a corner that is should be the best passing spot on the track.

All in all the layout is an improvement racing wise, just feels a little odd having the 500, what is supposed to be a marquee event, being ran on a track that looks and feels like an amateur club track.

The Shahins could really put some money into the overall atmosphere of the circuit too, the pit building might be flash, but the general vibe of the circuit is beyond dull.

That’s what I was thinking. Even just some temporary curbing on the outside of the corner entry to prevent cars use too much run-off on entry while also defining the track layout in a more visually pleasing way.
