Someone on F-chat as the P4 allready.
Then GT5 and esp GT mode isn't the game for you. There are plenty of cars to drive without the time investment needed. It's a moot point as there are NO GAMES out there of this calibre that does not require meaningful amounts of time to have meaningful experiences. Want cheap thrills? buy mario kart
If someone told me that I was going to have to stick with used Skylines from the 90s and Yarises/Vitzes because I'd have to make GT5 a full time job to afford the really exciting cars, I'd never have bought the game.
I've got an XJ13 and you're not missing out on much.
I've got an XJ13 and this is the falsest statement on GTP.
Hush. I'm trying to make them feel better![]()

Why should I spend 200hours mindlessly grinding 1 oval event?
There should be effort involved, but it should be fun and rewarding. These super rare cars should be rewards for completing the hardest events.
I also have a life to live and a degree to earn. I can't spend 10hours a day playing GT but I would still like to play with the all the cars at some point.
No one said you had to do the same event over and over. The GT series has always required time investment, there's nothing new here. If it's not your type of game then it's not your type of game. Go find one that is.
First addressing the black bolded section. Idiot is all I got. Yes their are cars that cost millions, just like in rel life. What the hell did you think GT is all about? It's about earning your cars. It doesn't take a lot of time to get most cars, like Ferrari's 458, Enzo or so on. Unlike you, I think some of those cars that are super rare and only in collections in real life should be only sold in auctions, not in a dealership. They are priceless. None of them have 0 miles. I think OD should have had these rare cars even harder to unlock, like they only go on auction once in a blue moon (so yes, they'd have to add auctions). Also, the used car dealership would be less random and have more than 20-30 cars in it at one time. Should show most cars, divided by manufacturer would be easiest. Anyways buying Legendary cars isn't anyone's "right".If someone told me that I was going to have to stick with used Skylines from the 90s and Yarises/Vitzes because I'd have to make GT5 a full time job to afford the really exciting cars, I'd never have bought the game.
In fact that means GT5 isn't the game for most people. Still many are surprised and angry when casual gamers say they think GT5 is too much work for them to be fun.

If it wasn't for people buying these games in the numbers they do no-one would have GT5.
Allowing the player to experience the game fully without too much repetition is good game design.
GT5 just appears woefully unbalanced compared in this aspect compared to it's predecessors.
No it isn't, games by their very nature aren't necessarily intended to appeal to absolutely everyone. That's an additional challenge added by people who create games in order to make money. Sure, what you're saying makes sense from a business point of view and is good for PD's sake, but there's no rule that says a game has to be designed to adhere to everyone's tastes. This game happens to be one that is built for those who enjoy spending time with their cars. If you don't have the time, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit will deliver racing thrills in 5-minute bursts.

Now to the red. You're again, a total dolt. It's to much work for you, don't speak for the majority. Ever!
GT5 is NOT a "casual" game. The Gran Turismo series has always been the World of Warcraft of racers. This statement is a million times more true with GT5 than it ever has been, with levels and online now.
World of Carcraft!
But World of Warcraft does cater to casuals. If you've ever frequented one of their forums, holy cow. "I pay $15 a month and can blahblahwhineblah!" is the basic gist of it.
GT5 somewhat does, what with the gradual ramping of difficulty and damage you cannot override, but people forget that purchasing a game does not entitle them to every feature and option without some investment of time. A few act quite shocked at this, which is amusing, but understandable if it's their first game in the series.
Time not so much, but the prospect of repetitive races too gain something, be it a car or event is not something i find enjoyable. The variety is just not there.
I'm 43 years old.
I have a real career which means I'm too burnt out after work to play on weekdays, and I like to spend time with my wife.
I have several other hobbies (Jeepin' mtn biking walking my dogs hiking etc.). to take up time on weekends.
I have a house, a yard and vehicles to maintain to take up more time yet again.
I have no complaints with the money system of GT5 nor any complaints about how much time must be invested to unlock stuff.
I figure I'll be able to play this game for years... just like I did with GT4.
Bunch-o-crybabies
With this formula, it would take about 20 hours to buy JUST the Ferrari 330P4 (20,000,000 credits).
Hear hear! That dude earlier that has to study for a degree is carrying on about not having enough time to properly plat GT5 for what it is, DUDE!!! wait till you have kids!
The game is what it is folks, if you don't like it, go and trade it in for something more suited to your playing style that requires no levelling up and no hard work. Just like WOW may not be for you, consider that GT5 may also not be for you period. Don't feel that you have a "right" to have a game unlocked completely from day one for your convenience. I re-iterate the Super Mario analogy, you do not start on level 1 with a fireball mario fighting Bowser! How popular a game would it have been if this were the case?
Hell, why didn't pinball machines start you out with a 10,000,000,000 points straight away for your convenience??? What were they thinking that I would want to use 2 paddles to grind me way to a high score!? crazy game developers
GT5 IS A GAME

I resent that commentThis isnt WoW. The GT5 community are mostly filled with people who enjoy playing GT5 but also have something else to do outside GT5
WoW is filled with people who have no life, from what i've met of WoW players
I have a life. I'd also like to drive some expensive cars on a game that I paid money for.
If going online with hacked cars is an issue, I'm happy for them to disable the online feature of my game in return for a gameplay that allows met o make a lot of money, save mid-championship, repeat races within championships, and general things that makes a game more like fun and less like a heap of work
Wow, even at minimum wage ($8/hour) that's $160. Remember time is money.
Would you really pay $160 for a virtual car? Not me.
I think the only way to earn money for cars like that is through online races so you earn while you're having fun. Grinding is stupid and a waste of time/money.
