Sounds really cool! I'm in, though I have no idea what car I'll be racing.

Rule suggestion: Submissions should include how many laps you personally completed (not B-spec'd). And as an added challenge, maybe you could add a class of racers that want to do a real sim race and must take their turns at the wheel. Since there is a three driver maximum IRL, you must a). drive a minimum of 8hrs total, b). have a break of no more than 6 consecutive hrs.

count me in,not sure what car ill run though  be drinking lots of coffee to stay up the whole 24hr's :scared:

I agree...but then again, how would the judges know how many laps were completed in A-Spec mode & how many were done in B-spec? I don't know so I'm just putting the question out there is all! :)

This might be a little hard, considering some drivers may do it all themselves, spitting up A vs B spec and/or bringing/using one friend to alternate with..

Though, I do like the possibilities of this option! :)

Sounds like a good idea! (If I can remember in a month XD)

I'll be racing in my fresh-from-the-Formula-GT, (er, as of now anyway) Sauber C9 ^_^

This is my first time racing the 24 Hours Le Mans in GT4 so I suppose I should go out to win it...

ME ENTERS!!! Was choosing between Toyota Castrol Tom's Supra & Toyota GT-One. In the end i want to win the money on GT4 so gonna go the GT-ONE as Ive got the mone to buy it

Name- [FPV]Rusty
Car- Toyota GT-ONE (TS020)
HP-stock-not sure how much
Milleage-391.1

I gotta do this. (this is like the collest thing ever!)
Im gonna use the Auto Union V16 from the 30's
I'll let you know what the HP on that thing is later (when i find out)

BTW when does the race start U.S. pacific time?

If memory serves me correctly..I do believe it's 8am PST...I think SpeedTV might be covering the event for a short while...check out speedtv.com as June 18th approaches!

i would like in

um where is the "AUDI R8" i want to run this car :sly:

otherewise will have to pick another :scared:

Oh there it is - grey w/ yellow trim - just showed up in my garage
see you on the podium - or you will see me there :sly:

EDIT: i'm going to run the 787b mazda (the black one) the audi is just too touchy at high speeds

I'll be running the BMW 320i Touring Car I reckon.

261 bhp stock, according to the Tuining Shop (checked by not installing a turbo, lol)

Mileage will be 0. Have bought one now, but will buy a brand new one nearer the time.

Name: Deimos

So any mods other than horsepower are allowed?

Whoa, tons of new people in the race; guess I should check it more often, eh?

And for you, deimos, weight and horsepower are the only things restricted. Everything else is fair game.

Just checking to see if this race is still going to happen?

I would assume so...but then again, I hate to assume...

Thx-

SimRaceDriver:

It most certainly is still happening. Everyone who has signed up will receive a PM on June 17 as a reminder.

I'll drive the Bentley Speed 8, now all I gotta do is win it.
That's 623BHP according to the showroom and 0-miles, but if I can't resist driving it i'll win another one nearer the time. :D

I want in! Sounds great!

now, I just need to get to 25% completion... :)

I don't know what car I'm driving yet, but I'll post here as soon as I do.

There is a small problem with my participation into that race :( My friend is getting maried that saturday and of course im going to that wedding. Its unfortunately on the day of Le mans :( So i have a question - can I run it one week ealier send my number of laps via PM to Jpec and he would publice my number of laps the day that he will public other drivers number of laps - would it be possible ?

villainpl,

I've got the same problem, but at least its in town, so I'm racing between the service and the reception...

:)

Well, the idea was to get a collaborative effort going, but if you want to run it another time that's fine (just don't send it to me before the race is over).

Ok, I just recently had this crazy idea involving the endurance races that GT4 provides. This won't really be a race of sorts, more like a collaboration of efforts. The 24 Hours of LeMans is the single biggest event in automotive racing, and this time around Polyphony was kind enough to include two versions of that race in our new game. My idea was to coordinate a massive running of the race in GT4 with the running of the actual race in real life. It is a couple months away, but I think it would be a good idea to try and get as many people running the 24 Hours of LeMans as possible. Here are the facts I've found:

The real race starts at 15:00 Greenwich Standard Time.
The real race is on June 18-19, 2005.
There are only 50 cars allowed in the real race.

Naturally the real-life date and time will be the date and time we start our race, but I won't be limiting the number of participants at all (the more the merrier). There are a few rules, though, and they are important to follow to ensure that we keep the collaboration (finishing our race with the pros driving on the TV in the other room sounds like it might be pretty cool).
  1. B-Spec Mode; no acceleration allowed. Granted you'll be allowed to use B-Spec Mode and get some sleep while GT4 does your work for you, but you're not allowed to use the acceleration that it provides.
  2. To sign up, just post in the thread. All I need is who you are, the car you'll be running, and that car's horsepower and mileage. These factors are important statistics for the leaderboard I intend to construct.
  3. After the race is over, post how many laps you finished with. Any entries submitted before 3:00 PM Greenwich Time will not be accepted.
  4. 24 Hours of LaSarthe I will be the course raced. This is because it will be the track they're racing in real life, not to mention it makes you less liable to fall asleep (as there's more to it than a massive back stretch).
  5. All cars being driven will be on stock horsepower. This means that you aren't allowed to add any HP-boosting tunings aside from the virgin oil change. You may still get parts and upgrades that don't have an affect on horsepower, including weight reduction. If you need a list of the parts you're not allowed to equip, just ask me (if your car has a part that cannot be removed like the Port Polish, use a different car).
  6. Enjoy it. GT4 is a game designed to be raced and had fun with. Don't race this because you feel obligated to try and beat everyone or because you justhave to win.

So the winners will be determined by the people who had run the most laps in the 24-hour period of the race. If you'd like to sign up, just post.

in central time zone, what time is 15:00?

One merely needs to subtract 12 hours when dealing with military time.
Hence, 15:00 (15-Hundred Hours) would be 3:00pm local time in France...
which then translates to 8am local time in Dallas, TX.

Click here for further reference...or look at the attachment...

Left Side = Time in France | Right Side = Your Time in TX

Hope this helps?

Are you sure you wanna run 24hrs. in that thing?
Wouldn't you be better off w/the M3 GTR Race Car?
Just a thought is all... :=)
