So what did everyone think of tonight's episode? I sure am glad that I can pretty much walk into 24 in season five and understand the general plot behind the series. I really need to buy the other seasons and watch them. Maybe I'll do that next week when I am on spring break.

Dammit, I liked Edgar! The sexual tension between him and Chloe was hilarious. At least Elisha Cuthbert made an appearance. The show needs more of her :)👍

I can't believe Edgar died. He was really one of my favorite characters; I was totally not expecting that to happen.

Yeah, really...Edgar dying totally caught me by surprise. Man, this show is awesome.

So, they're going to put (a pissed off) Tony and (a semiconscious) Henderson in the same room? Keeping in mind Tony knows Henderson played a part in Michelle's death....

This week's episode(s) had to have been the best one(s) yet. I still can't believe Jack shot that woman in the leg. "It's OK!! I shot her above the kneecap!!!"

And what's up with Kim's boyfriend? He's been around for 10 minutes and I already want him dead.

Thoes two episodes were brilliant, and very harsh. Shame they killed off Edgar, he was a great character. And yeah, when Jack shot robocop's wife in the leg and said that it made me laugh a little, I didn't expect him to shoot her, I was expecting him to shoot Henderson then point the gun at her and Henderson would talk, but he's turning out to be a damn tough nut to crack.

I just started watching the show and I also liked Edgar. Agree and agree.

When he left to go check on the chick who was checking on the ventilation, I was kinda expecting him to die. Though I kept thinking he might find a way to live and not to my surprise, he did not end up living.

Edgar dieing = bad.

Were Tony and Henderson in the same room? Must've missed it.

I can't believe Jack shot Henderson's wife too. What I really didn't expect was Henderson not saying anything at all afterwards.

Kim's boyfriend sure does seem like a jerk. I wanted Jack to snap his neck when he mouthed off. Dammit Jack! Why didn't you snap his neck right there? That sure would have made for good TV.

I kinda laughed a little at Jack shooting Robocop's wife too. But I was also surprised that he did it too.

I was surprised when he shot her, but it's not really surprising for him; it's kind of just the thing Jack would do. Except it would usually, you know, work.

It was not surprising, but it was. Like you said, it is something Jack would to get information. The biggest thing that surprised me about it was that it did not work like Jack had thought it would.

Towards the end, when the gas was released. They were moved to the Medical Examination Room (or something).

Yeah, seriously. I give Jack credit for holding back, it would've been pretty cool if he had stabbed him in the neck. Or maybe shock him with lamp wires à la Paul Raines.

I mean, how old is this guy? He looks to be around Jack's age, maybe even older. And apparently, he was Kim's psychologist (therapist?).

On a side note, HOW SCREWED IS LYNN?!

Lynn was probably moved, we just didn't see it.

I totally must have missed that part at the end, at least the room they moved into.

I said snap his neck, but stabbing or shocking him would work too. He looks to be at least Jack's age. And whats the deal with him being her psychologist and/or therapist? Aren't they supposed to not have that kind of relationship or something.

Lynn is definitely screwed. Why didn't he just report that he had lost his card in the first place? Would they not just disable his old card and give him a new one? But then again, I guess it does go along with his whole I need to be in control of everything and if no one agrees with me, well then your ass is fired!

Or maybe he died, a la Edgar . . . though I somewhat doubt that he would have gotten the gas treatment too.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he survived the gas attack.

So, if he did survive, he's now partially responsible for the attack on CTU and the death of 40%-50% of its personnel. If he didn't survive, then well...there's that whole being dead thing. Either way, he's screwed. 👍

How the hell is CTU going to recover from this?

Yep, either way Lynn is in a bunch of trouble. I am going to assume he did survive, as I don't see both Edgar and Lynn dieing in the span of two episodes. Having said that, Lynn's punishment won't be just a small slap on the wrist, but I don't expect it to be severly harsh either. But I do expect Chloe to give Lynn a severe tongue lashing for being such a freakin' moron, which could throw my expecting the punishment not being very harsh out the window.

It is going to be a big hit to CTU with the loss of so much personnel. But I don't see there being any problem with replacing all the lost personnel; there will be plenty of people who would gladly take a job at CTU. I don't really expect this large income of people to be a smooth transition though.

You have to remember LA CTU is only one of many CTU offices in America, others can take over until LA CTU get's running again.

You would think that after being foiled countless times by Jack Bauer, the terrorists would wise up and stop trying to attack Los Angeles.

Edgar shouldn't have died.... *sniff*

Too bad for Chloe.

That's why I don't see losing all the personnel being a huge hit to LA CTU. Though the influx of a large number of new people will make adjustments to new people somewhat hard.

There are three leading causes of death among terrorists. They are all Jack Bauer.

Yes, it is sad.

I'd love to see the show move to another setting (city? country?). After 5 seasons, it would do the series some good.

Well being that I haven't seen the first four seasons, it is alright to stay in LA for me. Though I am watching a marathon on WGN right now of Season 1, but I missed like the first three episodes. I'll have to go back and watch them on DVD.

I'm going down to LA next week, so I'd appreciate it if the terrorists left it alone for a while :sly:

But if there are terrorist there, Jack Bauer will get them all. Remember, there are three leading causes of death among terrorists. They are all Jack Bauer.

*Didn't mean to double post*

Well tonight's episode was another good one.

Kim's boyfriend, or whatever the heck he is, just gets under my skin. He is just pretty much annoying. Kim was no better in this episode. She has an "its all about me and no one else" thing going on and it really is annoying. She thinks she knows better than Jack about everything surrounding his "death". I understand she has had some hard times, but get over yourself and believing you are the only one with issues.

I applaud Lynn for his sacrifice. He realized CTUs current state was his fault, stepped up, and saved everyone. It almost makes up for being an idiot, but not quite. On the same note, I feel extremely sorry for the security guard who also had to sacrifice himself at the same time. When he was talking to his daughter on the phone, a tear almost come to my eye . . . almost. Very sad stuff! At least, he knew his death would not be in vain and would be for the better good.

It seems Robocop is a pretty tough guy. I keep waiting for him to don the Robocop getup and roll with that whole act. Tony was not very smart in this episode at all. He won't be coming back from this mistake.

Does President Logan decide anything at all on his own? I know the President should listen to his advisors and all, but he can't make a decision on his own at all.

Well it looks like we found our way for replacements at CTU, at least for the time being. Homeland Security is coming in to take over. For some reason, I see another Lynn type situation developing. The majority of the key people are still alive at CTU and would have no problem running things with some help personnel wise from Homeland Security.

Yup very good episode.

I'm thinking, that situation was a bit more lethal than it should have been. They could have used a shirt or jacket to flap as Lynn opened the door both times. That would have kept at least some of the gas in the hall. Then when he came back in, they should have gotten into a corner as far away from the door as possible and continued forcing the air away from them. It would have given them more of chance...

I am thinking they did a pretty good job of showing how lethal a chemical weapon can be.

Fighting the gas by flapping your hands wouldn't do any good. The only thing that would have prevented their deaths was gas masks, which they did not have handy at that time. As soon Lynn opened the door, gas leaked into the room and spread throughout the room. There wouldn't be just some random pocket in the room that didn't have the nerve gas and it would not make any difference how much leaked into the room either. It could easily be seen it didn't take but a couple breathes of air to cause death.

I would've loved to have seen this, pretty funny. I can imagine Lynn slappin' the air like a little girl.

It didn't surprise me too much when Lynn died the way he did, 24 is pretty big on redemption. This sort of pissed me off, though. Lynn gets to go out as the big hero while Edgar just gets a face full of nerve gas and drops like a sack of potatoes? What the hell?

And Tony CANNOT die. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous.

Best part of tonight's episode had to have been when Jack put Barry in a choke hold. Breathe for me now, *****!

I keep waiting for him to step up to the plate and you know….not suck so much, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Now that you mention Lynn's redemption, I definitely agree with you on him going out as a hero and Edgar not. Edgar was a much better character. Lynn did not deserve this hero death, when compared to Edgar. 👎

I was thinking the same thing with the number of deaths as of late. With Tony being now dead, it just seems like someone is going to die every 15 minutes.

Barry getting choked was funny as hell. I still don't like him and has yet to do anything that could even make me remotely like him. He is going to have to do something huge to change my opinion of him.

President Logan . . . his batting average has got to be 0 for about 8000. He hasn't done anything to not suck. He needs to grow a pair of MARBLES, as Tanaka-san would say to Cerrano.

Yes, but nerve gas is a gas nonetheless, and behaves like one. Whatever the concentration was in the hall, it would have been much much less in that room if they quickly opened and closed the door. With no circulation (the ventilation system was down), the only way for the gas to reach the other side of the room is molecular diffusion, a process that takes a surprisingly long time. I'm just saying that with a little effort to minimize their exposure as much as possible, they might have had a chance to survive.

Just how many main characters are going to get killed off in this series, I really want the next episode to start with medics rushing in and saving Tony but I know that's not going to happen. He's been the best character in any episodes it's not been Jack.

As for Lynn, they had about 10 mins to wait, flapping a shirt wouldn't hold the gas back for 10 mins, and they certainly couldn't hold their breath that long. As for the gas moving to the other side of the room, it would have got there pretty quick from the movement of the door. I did like Lynn as a character, I think he was a good guy but too many things screwed with him in such a short time he snapped.

As for Robocop, I think Jack has met his match here for definite. He's one tough hombre as they might say, well disciplined and very smart.

Very good episode, didn't like seeing Tony go like but that's from an I like the character perspective.

It would not make a difference what the concentration in the room was. The nerve gas that was used took effect on a person almost instantly on the inhalation of air. This was easy to see when the nerve gas was first allowed into the atmosphere of CTU.
