The Chapparal 2j can only be found in the UCD or if PD dicide to put it in the OCD.

it's a fan assisted racecar that uses the fan to suck itself to the ground. this gives it good grip, it also is only 800 or so kgs so it is also very light. this is what makes the 2j so popular. it has decent acceleration and top speed of 210-15 mph stock.

The Chaparral 2J is known in Gran Turismo 5 as being a 'troll car', obtaining speeds and downforce unusual in the world of race cars. In reality, it was outlawed because it used an illegal component along with the Brabham: Movable aerodynamics, AKA the supersized fan at the rear, which operated similarly to the X2010's rear fan. Reading its background should provide more info.

It is an overpowered Chaparal (american racing cars) wich has a big van in the back, it looks rather stupid, but it is the quickest high powered car in the game. You can only buy it when it pops up in the UCD, and i think it costs about 12 million.

Personnaly i do not have the car, and i will never have it neither.

It was legal for a season (I believe), its ban came due to the fact that it would suck up rocks and small yet heavy debris that would then get thrown out the back into the path of drivers behind it. Thus making it a bit dangerous. It had the ability to run a constant downforce. The car was deemed illegal after it's one season and then it was said due to being a movable part which had been outlawed and is still outlawed in todays world of racing.

Horsepower and top speed are meaningless in regards to this car. It is a lap time demon.

There was nothing illegal about the car when it was built and raced. Jim Hall was within in the rules when his team built it. The same team also exploited moveable aerodynamics with the 2E, which I think is a better car.

^ This isn't fully correct, you can also obtain the car with the 1970 ticket as well. Which is the easiest way to get said car.

Yeah, and McLaren complained that it would dominate Can-Am racing, which is ironic, because that's what McLaren was doing before the 2J came along.

Can also be had with a level 23 ticket. I think the easiest way to get the ticket would be the seasonals. I think one series has a level 23 ticket as a prize but I'm not totally sure. I would have been out of luck in the Historical Cup without the 2J and in a lot of the B-Spec races as well. Personally, I've never used it in A-Spec other than the historical cup because I can't drive the thing at all (and I hate looking at it). It's a godsend in B-Spec though.

I love mine it destroys the seasonals. I find the acceleration is a bit slow on launch but when its goin its awsome. It might be my setup that has made the launch a bit poor as i am a bit of a noob when it comes to tuning and i was trying to tune it for drag races online

People bitch and moan about how mclaren got the car banned, but they dont realize, the car couldn't even do 2 laps without breaking down, so, semantics.

its a cheater car. no car can even come close to it, (as you can see) at 600 - 650 pp

if you try to use it online youre a loser. (most hosts will kick you for it)

but as its been said, it dominates the seasonals.

Slow launches are due to tall gears (i.e. spread out far)

^ This is true the car had mechanical issues, if anyone should be mad about a banned Chapparal it should be the 2e instead
