Ardius:
Two thoughts came to mind about F1CE racing online, from my experience.
About the pitstops , some tracks you can stetch it out to only making 1 stop in a 20 lap event , other tracks you will be forced to make 2 stops. Are the rules mandatory for 2 pits reguardless of track or just make what pits are only necessary and then just go racing ?
question 2 :
Turn 1 on first lap is and always has been a major league ******* (being nice)at certain tracks, people are always racing to clear for position while 99 % of the time there is a huge melee of cars just going everywhere from all the crashing , will penalties or bans be in effect , on how to handle this fiasco ? You could be perfectly innocent get rammed from behind , forcing you into another car , ie --- the chain effect , does everybody have to stop and wait for re-spawn from others , or just go reguardless of what happens in turn 1 ? Thoughts on this scenario please ?
1. Pit strategy is up to you. I see no problems with people attempting to try and conserve their fuel and tyres that long, there are benefits and disadvantages either way.
2. Turn 1, well, all I can say is: wait for the punted car if you can but otherwise its fair game. Its difficult to moderate between the two for that situation and ultimately its going to be down to how much we trust each other. If someone is caught punting people at turn 1 on purpose, then naturally they will be kicked. However, its difficult to prove it and its going to end up in arguments either way.
What I recommend everyone do is to calm down, chill out and not to get pent up or paranoid about collisions especially in the first few laps. This is primarily for fun, if you get all worked up over people accidentally taking you out then its your own fault when you get into a heated argument over it. Having said that, a prototype rule we could use is that there should be no overtaking till after turn 1.
I don't think it would work if I introduced any more rules though and it will start to cause more arguments than solve. For now, leave the rules as they are and lets have a few practice races. If this becomes a huge problem, collisions will be turned off.
Thats fine (I think) LOL , BUT , as you already know , with all the AI cars , real drivers , you just cannot tell what the h*** is going on , you can't read any names to identify who is who , hence the cluster 🤬. and you have to take a 1 lap penaly for somebody elses wrong doing by punting you into another car, thats going to be a rough one to swallow , I really don't know what or how to remedy the turn 1 mishaps to be honest. Not a bad thought Daddy
Anybody else want to pitch in a few solutions or ideas so this can be discussed , so we know how to handle this situation, because it is a bad one.![]()
Well first of all, the AI will be on medium when used and secondly, we hope that there will be full participation and therefore no need for AI at all. We are not going to use 22-car grids, we will just use 10, 1 slot for each player. So this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Besides, surviving turn 1 is where all the fun is.
Dunno if you can get a full grid of real drivers(22) to race on F1:CE online. I think that would make it somewhat easier that counting on the AI to not screw things up entering Turn 1.
Also, would it be possible to put the PSN names by the drivers on the roster for easy reference?
I don't know the PSN names for everyone, I gave up asking for them a while ago because people regularly ignore what I post here anyway (e.g. the rules). I ended up just noting the PSN IDs when we raced, but if everyone could post their PSNs it would be a big help 👍
I'm not keen on the whole collisions anyway.
Any race I've ever done online with collisions, someone's just punted me off the track, you then get a penalty for being punted off the track.
It's a disaster zone usually.
On the other hand, races without collisions are very dull because its essentially one big time trial race with no allowance for tactics such as blocking and less skill is required to ensure a clean pass.
After trying races with both collisions on and off last season, we decided it was more interesting with them on. Besides, most of the issues with collisions are down to:
1. Idiots, punters - none of which are in this championship (I hope), if they are you know they will be dealt with.
2. People not realising there is a very large "lag bubble" around each players car and taking people out without realising. But I gather most of us here are veterans of the online mode and know how to deal with this. If not, you'll hopefully soon learn.
My situation is much like yours. I'd love to join a race or two if I can but don't want to commit to anything. I'm currently and for quite some time ahead busying myself with my career mode in this game.
Yeah, fair enough. Looking at the PAL participation, I don't think it will be hard for you to come in and join every now and again.

Also, I still need a race host for PAL!!!
