300+ mph

ive gotten my dodge viper to hit about 270 but thats about it

Hi GT_nut. Welcome to GTplanet (from another relative newbie).

I did a search on "300" and "mph" in the GT3 forums and got zero hits. Strange. Maybe the search function doesn't like 3 letter words. A search on "top speed" and found a couple threads:

What is your top speed on the test track? and
What is your fastest car?

You may have to page through those a bit before you find any settings.

Better yet, there's a sticky thread in this forum called "Read This! Look Here Before You Ask!" that has a few links that might help you.

If you're on the test track and high speed is the only consideration, in general you want to set ride height and downforce to minimum, and the rest is just gearing.

Edit to add: I forgot about www.gtvault.com. They have user submitted settings for everything and some of them are actually good. Pick your car and then look for a setup for the Test Course.

I've never done 300+ but I know it's possible. Do a search and if that doesn't work, try and "advanced search" (sorry I'm being lazy and don't wanna do it for you).

Breakpoint (wherever he is) managed jetliner speeds (over 500) but he was using a hybrid.

I've tried to get cars that fast but no luck. If I figure out how to break through the track on Seattle I should. The test tracks corners slow you down to much. If you do the wheelie trick then you will far exceed 300mph+..With the right car you can break the sound barrier doing a wheelie.

Unfortunately the search ignores all three letter words, which makes it difficult to search for things like "300", "BMW" and "GTO".

Yeah, I've gotten a-just read my sig.
For people who honestly hit 300mph (no wheelie cheats or anything like that), and can prove it with a photograph or video, here's the spot:

Oh, never mind, that is in GT4

3500MPH+ for me... and i cheated too. hahaha, the old 60XHP, plus Stage 4 turbo PLUS wheelie setup..

Just yesterday i was experimenting with the wheelie. unreasonable results.

I've gotten over 300 with the escudo, without an ar. All I did was buy the turbo kit, go into like the wind, get around 290 or so (I'll have to look up my settings) then drafted to 302 I believe

I posted this before but don't see it - so sorry if I double post. Okay in my previous post I stated I got my escudo over 300, around 302 I believe, I just tested the settings that I have it set to and ran a 294.2 on the max speed challenge, here's the settings
1st 4.295
2nd 3.224
3rd 2.217
4th 1.610
5th 1.235
6th 1.001
7th ----
Final 2.170
running supersoft tires @ 1843 HP. I got over 300 by drifting in the even "Like the Wind", I choose that one because it's one of the fastest test course events, I'm sure you can use the F1 test course race as well
