widescreen is generally better - but if you have a lot of non-widescreen content it will look stupid on your wide tv.

you could always set the ws tv to 4:9 view, it doesnt distort the pic but it does look kinda odd not using the whole screen

Except when you are watching UEFA Champions League Football from the continent (Europe) on BBC/ITV. You either get thick grey bars down the side or they copy the side of the screen twice to really screw the picture up.
E.g. [[ ]]

-> Widescreen at the center then two regular size on each side with Bose speakers all around you. :)

btw, that would make "it" a 34" widescreen. you can't have a 32" widescreen. Else it'll be a 4:3 with possibility of Letterbox screen (Widescreen within a 4:3). If the screen is rectangle, its a real widescreen.

Just making sure.

I get a weird image with Prologue if I set it to 16:9, although I have a widescreen tv. I set my tv to just display the image as it comes in, and I get a really squeezed image as though I had a normal tv. If I set Prologue to 4:3 I get a normal image. Doesn't really let me take advantage of a widescreen tv then...

I think this would have been better suited in the Multimedia, computers and electronics section. Anyway I'd go with the wide screen.

Definately Widescreen. If you haven't noticed. All DVD's and videos are comming out in widescreen. 👍

Why is this in the GT4 Forum???
Because the rest of the forum has been closed down. Apparently.

Widescreen. GT4 will come with a widescreen feature. Like GT3 did. However, you'll need a good deinterlacer (line doubler) in order to have it work to perfection.

demon of speed
I couldn't really imagine playing anything on a 14-21 inch t.v. anymore.

I used to feel like that about my old 100hz 28 inch 4:3 set
But thats now replaced with a 36inch digital widescreen, the visuals are so crisp and the extra width gives more sense of speed, that when i have to take the PS2 back to the old set which is another room, i feel like im missing out.

I feel bad, you guys are talking about buying wide screen tv's while I'm debating stoping at walmart to pick up a $60 tiny thing. Oh well.
