Why wouldn't the fiat fit the bill? It fits the rules. I mean the old one btw

Is it possible to post a short list of cars that fit this category? I'm not really enthusiastic about going through my garage looking at car displacement and dimensions...lol...please....
Anything that looks like it can be used to deliver flowers with the balloons attached.:)

There is no way the Cappuccino is the fastest car,its currently in 4th on my leaderboard.

sorry I missed this, was watching the season premier of Top Gear

I cant watch anything from the internet. Im deaf, and have to have closed caption. So, it was new to me

Well, you are in the states, do you have BBCA? I thought they showed stuff a year or so behind.

I have no idea if there are closed caption torrents. I imagine not.

I hate it, I love running the 450 nights, but everytime I show up, I get pulled into something else. Oh well. Hope to see some of you tonight in the Tuesday LeMons series.

So yeah, I guess the Copen is pretty quick. I guess we'll have to allow the Capp next time to see if it can compete. The Autozam couldn't keep up in a straight line.

Shift at 7400 all day long, it might be close, it could draft past I think, but in a straight drag race, no.

Nope. I was shifting to stay between 6000-7500. I could be on the bumper of the Copen at Grand Valley and not get by. I had the tranny set to put me right at 7500 at the end of the straight in 5th gear. I was great through the back section of the track but once I caught up, they'd pull away on the straight. i drafted for 4 laps until a minor mistake put me far enough back to lose the draft. I could only get the Autozam to 443pp, and that was using max downforce.

Oh well, can't compete with a 200hp car. As long as the gearing is put to use, I don't see why it didn't win every race. I was really hoping to use my Toyota Sports 800 last night, until we decide to do surgery on an iphone.

170 mph in a car with a 660 cc engine is insane.I knew the Copen was fast in my testing but i totally missed the Move SR whatever its called. My bump drafts @ GV-E were more like the bumps you might get in a parking lot but i was faster in the 2nd sector.I managed to break free on the 4th lap but i took the first turn in a 4 wheel drift which cost me my gap.I tried to shake (esh i think) but he has very close exiting the tunnel and i knew he would get me on the straight.

Maybe the keicars should run @ 425-430 PP which would even out the field.

Yeah, if we do it again, I think we'll drop it to 425. My Autozam was originally set for 420 so that must have been what we ran the last time.

BTW, my hiatus from GT5 last week was to build these...

Total cost was about $400 including the raw drivers, cabinet-grade birch plywood, assorted parts/supplies, and stain/poly. They blow away anything you can buy at BestBuy for the same price. It's a single driver design, or "full range". It will play down to 45Hz with help from the transmission line (aka quarter-wave) cabinet and has enough sparkle to not require a tweeter. Primary function is for listening to music but we'll have them hooked up to the TV and PS3.

Nice! Do you have any pics of the back and insides? I've upgraded some speakers with new drivers, crossovers, and terminals, and I've built some speaker kits, but I haven't built from scratch yet.

Good to see you doing some audio work.
Cannot see what kind of speakers those are though.

The drivers are Mark Audio Alpair 10.2 (~$110/each). No crossovers or anything since the drivers have built-in baffle step correction. The design called for an optional brace in the center but I skipped it. I did however make a removable back. In the photo below you can see me clamping 3/4" rails along the back edge. The back screws into this. I had to fill the cabinets with about 1.5 lbs of polyfill to dial back the bass. In retrospect, the bracing might have been nice. The side panels can get excited with the amount of bass produced. The front baffle is pretty solid though.

The finished back pieces can be seen here, along with the mitre and router work done on the bases.

Plans for the speakers are available here: http://homepage.mac.com/tlinespeakers/FAL/downloads/pensils/Pensil-Series-complete-100711.pdf

Wow, the bracing plans are crazy! From where did you get the hardware?

yeah, that's why I skipped it. It's just too many circles to cut with my perfect circle router jig. I wasn't in the mood to spend an entire day on them for what would be a marginal improvement. The braces are only required for the much larger Pensil 12.

The bits and pieces came from www.partsexpress.com. The drivers came from www.madisound.com.

I guess it is like window weight reduction. Technically, it helps, but not so much so that I'm going to notice.

Yeah, window weight reduction is a joke, it doesn't even affect PP on most cars. 10kg difference...whoopidee-doo!

Tonight:

Tuesday 8/23: Rag Top Night -- 450pp, SS Tires
Rag top roadsters only
Tracks: Lobby Vote
-- Host: ???

I need a volunteer to host. I might be on for a short while but i've got a GT500 race at 11:00 so i'll probably duck out around 10:15-10:30. You can host in my lobby, but given the amount of drivers participating in lemons racing tonight, it might be best to make it public and take your chances with the pubbers.

I love Parts-Express; it's where I've gotten all the hardware and drivers for my speakers.

Me too...but madisound has the higher end drivers i use in most of my projects. Here are a few others I have built...

Frugelhorns utilizing 4' Fostex FE126e drivers. It's a backloaded folded horn design.

MicroFonkens utilizing 3" Fostex FF85K drivers. It's a unique design from the guys who designed the other speakers. It's similar to a bass-reflex (aka ported) design but is modeled differently. I've actually built two of these, one in red oak, and another in birch.

These birch ones match my new cabinets, and will be used for surround sound duties.

Nice set of speakers, I've had the want to take an old 50's style radio, and convert it to an ipod stereo. Or build the small altoids can portable speaker.

Also, the upcoming Nascar Seasonal Event, is giving away a JEFF GORDON suit! Holy crap! Gordon is not my favorite, but this is definitely neat.

Ive got two 50's radios too. Bought them in non working order at a flea mkt. One justed needed a new power cord and the other needed some tubes. Both have mono phono inputs so i can hook up an ipod. Pretty neat, but they need new speakers and some replacement caps to sound better.

Some good rag top racing last night :-) The S2000 turned out to be the best car, but I think there were half a dozen fairly evenly matched cars behind it (Miata, 3400S, Z4, Griffith 500).

Honorable mention to k_reins in the Kubelwagon :D

I really wanted the Lotus Élan to be good, but it was 2-3 seconds off the pace...

The Toyota MR-S can keep up with the S2000.
