Your satellites' enclosures look similar to the set of infinity RS-2001's I refoamed. Got them for only $10, best speaker purchase I've ever made.

I also built a Dayton 15" reference subwoofer setup with a 3 cubic inch vented enclosure made of oak plywood. It got pretty loud for only 250 watts but because it weighed about 100 lbs I ended up just giving it away to a buddy when I last moved out of a rental.

I'm interested in joining you guys for nightly races, I guess I'll add your hosts to my friend list and wait for a room to open as you suggest in the first post.

Add osprey for tonight's racing. I'm hosting a private series tonight.

Some good rag top racing last night :-) The S2000 turned out to be the best car, but I think there were half a dozen fairly evenly matched cars behind it (Miata, 3400S, Z4, Griffith 500).

Honorable mention to k_reins in the Kubelwagon :D

I really wanted the Lotus Élan to be good, but it was 2-3 seconds off the pace...

I was keeping up with cenk in my m3 till I tried to go too deep in the first corner at suzuka and then I relized my m3 wasn't a convert.

Yep it was fun. I came in with a Z4 but it was 2 secs slower than Nick's miata. Immidiately switched to my miata, kept up with him for 2 laps before a spin out.. After that, I wanted to practice with the S2k for the upcoming one make race. Pretty fast setup I found out ! We battled with v8's 3400S a bit :dopey: Miata is very close to the S2K but harder to drive imo.

I think I lapped a 1:54 at tokyo. Monaco race was really fun for me too 👍

Yes, I was wondering how many times we would exchange the lead in the remaing laps 👍 You drove that M3 well at suzuka !

It's funny...It's the opposite (In my opinion).Maybe your mx5 needs work or is it my s2000??? They probably need blue rims in both case.:sly: lol

Both cars are pretty quick. If I recall, they are two of the faster 450pp cars (themes aside).

haha its for sure my miata needs more tuning, but the S2K is ready for the battle on thursday 👍 I'm actually an awd guy, so there is only a few rwds I like.. M3 CSL is one them, sooooo fun to drive ! I have a S15 that seems promising.. I might drive that tonight at the ring..Oh not to forget my FT-86, that thing is currently on top my leaderboard @ GVE with 1:08s.

Off-Topic:Huyler What time did you run last night in gt500 qualif/race? I run 1'22.395 qualif/1'20.6 race...I think I need to work on the wheel alignment a little...

I ran a 1:22.3xx I think. In race, I never got a lap in with RS tires before getting disconnected. I was 4th on lap 14, 12 seconds behind the lead, and a good 25 seconds ahead of 5th...then I got booted. By lap 13 I was down to 1:26 on less than 1/2 tread on the front. That's why I pitted for tires.

cenk
Monaco race was really fun for me too 👍

Yeah, that was a good race. Thinking about it after, I realized I made a tactical error by leaving you room to get by me on the left up Beau Rivage. If I'd stayed left, I'd have had the inside line into Mirabeau, and I might have been able to hold you off :)

I pitted 3 times because I got punted thrice (corner entry)some are too agressive to race on full damage...by lap 7 I was already 1 min behind.👎 then I got booted on lap 24 :)

That sucks. The top 6 were pretty clean for the first two laps...but then people started dropping like flies. I was in first by lap 4 not because I was fast...but because I was the only driver not to go off track. Eventually the faster cars caught back up though.

I know :) we should run there again, really fun track. Really hard to make a pass..I don't know how they run F1 there

I'll try to join the nurnburgring room tonight, hopefully I won't see the 717 server incompatible error again !

I personally don't get Monaco....it's not my favorite race on the F1 calendar. Too narrow and hard to pass.

Not sure I'll make Nurb tonite...PES demo came out today and I'm itching to give it a try.

I agree that it's not the best from a racing perspective, but it's an awesome test of racecraft. Keeping it off the walls, driving a defensive line to keep someone behind, following the driver in front lap after lap to find his weakness.

In a great car against another clean driver it can be epic.

just like our run ? :P with more cars battling, definitely 👍

I think it was fine when the cars were slower when they started racing there, but now its still being ran because of the location.. its an excuse for the movie star people to spend their weekend there. The hotel cost is off the roof, the amount of money involved overcomes the fact that its actually not a safe track.. which we saw this year.. somebody almost died exiting the tunnel..

I was able to join the ring room last night, yay ! wasn't able to concentrate too well though  had some fun time for sure 👍

hope to see you guys out with the S2Ks tonite !

Yeah, Monaco isn't a good track for tight racing...but for 1-on-1 battles it can be very exciting as it can take a lap to get into position for a pass, and another lap to get it to actually stick. In fact, this video below of Sl3ight and I is the reason I love the track. For my Lemons series, cars are given money to spend based on how poorly they perform. Sl3ight's car was FF and mine MR so he had straight line speed while I had better tire wear. This is a short clip of the race...but we battled for literally 80 minutes of the 90 minute race like this. With fresh tires he could hold me off, but late in the run i'd get by him. We had two pit stops each and each time he would be ahead and I'd have to chase him down and wait for his tires to wear out.

However, for 5 lap sprints...the track isn't that great because drivers try to turn any mistake into a passing opportunity. When you've got to worry about full damage...you're a lot more picky about where and when you make your passing attempts.

No homework for tonight, what's the car for tonight? S2000?

I don't remember getting a track selection for tonight's first race. Any suggestions, maybe something we don't run all the time?

good battle 👍 looks like you finally gapped him enough at the tunnel entry that he was too late to make the pass on you..and he still went for it, thinking it could have been his last chance.

Yup, thats exactly what happened (we discussed it after). Before the last two pit stops, thats eventually how i got around him. A pass at casino, and pulling away enough through hotel to avoid the draft before the chicane. The last time though he used my braking point, which was too late for his car with no tread left.

The 'Ring 24 H with Time / Weather would be great. Start the race at dusk and off we go. See you guys in the room later.

sounds awesome have my s2k ready :)
