Might have been 1290-1300? I kept bumping up the weight as the engine broke in.

we almost had the same accel in the tunnel (if I entered it right). My gearing was off a bit as well, 1200-1500rpms off redline on 6th gear coming off the tunnel..

You should keep your current setup....lighter is better (accel/cornering) but on very high speed track high power output is desirable...

Edit:np Bowtie...

Yeah, I know how to brake iforce. It's no big deal though, I recovered, then cenk got all crazy and I got run off the road trying to save it. I do want to apologize to Nic, I bumped early in the Schumacher S, and he spun. I really didn't mean to do it.

Cenk, I said the tire thing like 8 or 9 times, and it sounded like you responded, because somebody did.

All I heard from you was: "this is nice corner to spin" at the ring when you were chasing me and I spun LOL I wish I had a mic :)

yeah, really I didnt get your warning before the race (at the ring).

at GP/F, I remember exiting super wide and losing some speed at the turn after the shumi S, and I tried to flip the car to the right without much braking but lost all 4 tires for a second and leaned on you when you made your way all the way to my left :( I literally saw you at the moment of contact. apoligies..

thats my mindset as well, but I think every car has a happy weight spot. It seems like it wouldnt lose much cornering ability if lets say I went up to 1140kg. Another 10HP might be a better gain rather than 50kgs..

We really have to tune power/weight per track, but its just too much work :) I just do the gearing when a car is setup..dont even change suspension settings from the ring to the smoother tracks.

I had mine set at 266 hp/204 ft/lbs and 1208 kg with a wing set at 7.I built 2 cars, one with and one w/o a wing and compared top speeds and i was only losing 1-2 mph with the wing.

my setup
-4,0
9.0,10.2
6,10
5,5
3,3

2.8,1.0
0.00,0.20

10,30,20

wing 0,7

Which cars have already been used?I'm looking at 2 cars now but i think one of them might have been used before.

I find the extra power makes passing a lot easier, even if the lighter car is slightly faster in the abstract. Same goes for downforce.

When you took off the wing did you add power to match the PP (W/wing)?
Sometimes people forget about this...

Yeah i spec'd one at 281 hp/1250 kg and used that as my other test car. Both cars had the same exact parts on them.

Cars used are at the bottom of the first post.

Here's my S2000 setup. It's still a work in progress – I think the dampers need to be stiffened and the transmission could definitely be better (suggestions welcome :) ).

@Nic: I double-checked the weight and it really is 1390kg. How did you get 302hp/1316kg @ 450pp? What am I doing wrong?

@IForceV8: I watched the replay from GP/F and you're right, there's a 1-2kph difference between us at the end of the back straight (me: 205kph, you: 203-204kph). Not much in it one way or the other in terms of top speed.

i just logged on

Whats the plan for tonight?

iforce, pick a car and track for next week. Must be tunable to 450pp (with mods, or power reduction).
The premium Jaguar XK Coupe Luxury '07 is the car.

Two other good picks i considered were the Clio sport V6 and the Esprit V8.The Clio didnt make the cut because it's missing a couple of spark plugs and the Lotus is good @ 450 but it would be better @ 460-465 pp.

Ok, what track?

For tonight, how about 400pp, pre 1980, comfort soft?

I had some fierce lag on S2K night. Very odd. I set the third fastest lap during practice on only one hot lap but was 3 seconds off my qualifying pace during the race. Cars were just flying by me like I was standing still.

Whos hosting a race tonight? I would like to participate if possible.

The racing will be in my lounge. Send a friend req if you haven't already.

I have you as a friend already. What time do you guys normally start?

Lightweight classics? I would love to do it again! I can't remember the exact details, but it should go Lightweight Classics Pre-1975 400 PP CS? All this means is that I get to race my Bus, Alpine, and Kubrlwagen.

Nah, no weight restriction...we'll see how it goes. At 400pp, who knows what'll be quick. Most of the muscle cars won't go that low.

No weight restriction huh? Sweet. I've got a plan. B)

👍

The seldom used Grand Valley Speedway/full reverse is the track choice for the big cat V8.

ive never raced the full track in reverse. Should be fun!

i'll try to be in my lobby by 9:45 tonight but you can get into the room before then.

Fun racing last night. It took a few races to get my Alpine dialed in...and I still didn't have much straight line speed, but I enjoyed throwing it into the corners by the end. I'm guessing Bowtie and Cenk added significant weight to theirs to get them that fast. I couldn't draft pass either of them, which means I was down on horsepower.
