A poor showing of 450pp club members last night. We raced the Jaguar at Grand Valley (full) reverse which was quite an eye opener. Lots of tricky turns. I probably would have won by 10+ seconds in my 10-minute tune but I slowed down several times so I could have something to do over the 8 laps. GrayFox came in 2nd so its his turn to pick a car and track for next week.

I kind of like the Jag. It seems slow to me but it put down decent lap times. For mods, I think I did Weight stage 2 and maybe an ECU. Then I added about 50kg to the rear for better weight distribution. No LSD, stock brake balance. For the suspension I increased the front spring by 2.0 and the rear spring by 2.5 (to account for the added weight) then ran 1.0/1.0 camber and 0.00/0.00 toe. Everything else I left the same. Turn-in wasn't great but I had perfect mid-corner balance. The key to getting speed was to shift 1,000 rpm before redline. I had very little power reduction so I made use of the increasing power slope which had more torque compared to the decreasing slope near redline. Not the tune to end all tunes...but I did win 3 out of the 4 races. I started at the back and ghosted cars for the one race I lost...but was on the bumper of the winner by the end.
 
I've been spending my free time running lemons practice. The open nights are the only 450s I hop for now. :indiff:

watching that video reminded me of a track day I had.

my friend was running on R compound, I was on street tires, I eventually got tired of blocking him as my tire temps increased.

I wish I had a bit more patience with you Chuyler, I late braked pretty badly at T1..Had a lot of fun 👍 Laguna Seca was going to be a nice one too but you spent too much time back in the pack.

Yeah, i wish we had one or two more laps to battle at laguna. I would have posted that video but i forgot to save the replay. I basically hung out in 5th place until 3rd and 4th lost the draft...at which point i began my quest for the lead...but i caught you at the corkscreq on the last lap and there wasnt enough time to get a pass in without getting too aggressive.

Sorry I left early last night. I was dog tired. My wife has been working nights and I have been having to get up and feed the little one in the middle of the night.

I saw you in my mirror and said, oh there he is :) got NOS ? lol

I cooked the turn before the last left hander but managed to keep it together with decent speed. You were on my right fender before the brake zone :) then hit me on purpose (jkd I know it was a statement lol)

esh, I want to run some different cars for tonight, I'll meet you at chuy's lounge. Hope we can get couple of more people..if not, I'll just do some lead and follow with you !
 
I might be able to make it tonight. Watch out though, just got a dfgt and when I get loose, anybody within 10-15 feet better be alert.

yeah streets of willow is such a technical course that there is a lot of different approaches to attack the corners, I havent figured out the best way yet lol

this recent one was super fun, I found myself in a battle between a e46 M3 (gutted/Rcomps/Aero) and newer Z06 (Rcomp/Aero). I had started with super low tire pressure assuming I would take it easy for 4-5 laps then go for it.. It was the only session I ran that day as well. I had R comps :) take offs that I bought for 70 bucks from a customer of mine :)

nice :) just remember, you have to be very easy on the wheel, it will feel like it it super ultra sensetive :) until you understeer lol
 
We did a test & tune session last night, ran many different cars @ trial mountain reverse. It was fun :)

my m3 CSL ran a 1:35.1XX
Benz beat it by 0.4 with his NSX type R 02', 1:34.7XX, DFGT power 👍
Rick was running with his miata when I left, he might have beat that time as he was also in TA mode 👍

Got down to 231 last night, I think I can get closer. The guy that set top time is a freaking rocket up the hills.

Some great racing with iforce, Benz, and twichie today. I'm sure we'll find some kind if theme for tonight. Dirty Shuffle sounds fun right now
