Also winnable: IB License Gold: Honda S800 RSC Race Car '68

Congrats on your victory last night in the Honda S880 race Chuyler 👍 👍

But iB is one of the tougher licences to gold.

I just did it again, but that fr cone test is a beotch.

anyone on tonight?

80's 450pp night I assume? Or are we doing 90's maybe?

90s could be fun. That works for me.

Right on, 450pp SS 90's night, you hosting chuyler?

Yup, i will host, meet in my lounge if i'm not online by 9:30.

see you guys out there 👍

So yeah, the NSX...just too fast even to compete with 90's cars. My '99 MR2 is pretty quick although a little unstable. At GVE-R iForce ran over a second quicker than everyone else. I couldn't even draft him.

What shall we run tonight?

The Autumn ring race was fun, I was literally on your bumper at the finish line :) My Subaru did suprisingly well at Nur GP/F, I was hearing people cheering up for Nick as he took the lead from me at the end of lap 4 LOL

Nick's 99' S2000 was also fast, at least faster than my 97' NSX. I dont how he found a 99' NSX btw, I want that car :)

We could make it an AWD night for a change, EVO vs Subaru vs GTR..

Yeah, Autumn Ring is fun...but Bowtie knows how to tune for the track better than anyone. I think his stiff springs and massive camber help him out...as does a clean line. I never run that stiff because I like a little body roll.

GP/F was fun too. Bowtie was pushing hard to get by me but he didn't have enough speed to draft pass. I pulled a small gap a few times but as my tires wore down and he started using the run-off area between turns 2 and 3 he gave me a run for my money. Leading up to the final chicane I knew he could probably out brake me, so I chose the inside and tapped the brakes early but not with full force. When he slowed too, I just matched his braking and blocked him out of entering the chicane in front of me.

I really wish the game was a bit more fair when it comes to performance points. I could understand if a S2000 was fast on a tight course and a muscle car was fast in a straight line...but sometimes that just isn't the case. My Audi S4 was up around 1600-1800kg and could not even draft to keep up with the front runners at Rome. I probably could have used a little transmission work...but that wouldn't account for the 2 seconds I was losing per lap.

We're all good drivers...so at this stage I can only assume that if I fall behind without making any mistakes...its my car, not my driving.

I wasnt even shifting to 5th at Autumn ring lol, my subaru would have done way better there..but F40 was really fun to drive 👍 I had built that for 500pp but gave a try with 235HP / 1250kg.

I think the game logic is fine.. You really need 50/50 balanced car with a decent powerband if you want to be competitive.

IRL S4 is a slow car to start with..is always slower than the competitor BMW or Mercedes.

I was practicing last night on Autumn Ring for this weeks Lemon's race. I added a transmission and turned the top speed two clicks shy of as low as it would go. That made the car faster around the track.

I also added ballast to improve the balance. That made it much quicker.

That course really has a unique set of demands on a car.

It's not just about 50/50.

Last night I had my RX-7 at 50/50 by adding about 50kg to the rear. It felt like I had no front grip. So I moved the weight to the front. Much more predictable behavior. A little understeer mid corner but I stopped cooking the front tires. I didn't have time to fine tune the suspension but it just baffled me that I could be 1 second quicker around the track by moving weight forward over the front tires instead of balancing it.

Yes, its a very technical track..There are many different ways to attack the corners..If you havent added clutch/flywheel/driveshaft, and if you are allowed to, go for it ! its probably another half a sec with those upgrades..

That is probably because your front spring rate was too high, and probably dampening/rebound..I do corner balancing IRL, we have to tune suspension per strut, not just front to rear..

I found that the balanced cars respond better to weight shifts. And a light rear end causes traction issues..

PS: i had sent you a jgtc supra, which was a %95 perfect suspension tune. I recommend you see what I did with it ;) and maybe send the car back to me sometime before we forget about it lol

oh yeah...i still have the ticket in my car delivery...I'll give it a run this week some time...maybe tonight actually, since i could use it to make some tweaks to my NSX for tomorrow's race.

Back to the RX-7, I tried softening the front springs before moving the weight. I didn't run a full lap but all it did was cause the outside tire to go red instead of both tires. If I have time, I usually do more experimenting...but I switch cars too often to spend more than a few minutes with one. I rarely mess with dampers except to lower them from the default values. I like a little weight transfer, it helps keep the weight forward for trail braking...but sometimes cars burn up the fronts and I never know what to do to fix it.

That's right, I know my Autumn Ring, just look out during the lemons race.

Also, for tonight? 400pp lightweight classics

Patriots game tonight...so I may not be on until later. Feel free to use my lobby though.

Cenk suggested 4WD cars, which we haven't done in a while.

Nick?

The Rome rev times were right on what i ran in testing.cenk put up a 17.7 in his NSX and i ran a 18.0 in the S2000.I use that track for for top speed and overall grip testing when i am building cars for PP racing.

I dont remember exactly what changes i made to the NSX @ GVE but i should market that setup for cash money 💡.I think i ran a 11.2 or something like that in Q then made some changes before the race and was running mid 10's w/o any draft.

The race at GP/F was very cool.I was much faster than the cenk in his 22b down the straights but he was much better under braking. On lap 2 ? i made a pass on the inside at the last chicane but he outbraked me and then chopped my nose off turning into the chicane.I fell back a couple of seconds but caught back up and cruised home from there.

That little Hommell was very fast but its a nervous ride. The only place i didnt have oversteer was leaving the pits;) I made a couple of setup changes but all that did was take it from loose in-loose out to tight in-loose out.:indiff:

It's not hard to make the NSX quick. It has a 1 second per straight advantage over almost every car in the game. Add to that its low center of gravity and wide stance and it is simply the perfect car to exploit the game's physics. You lost me up the hill on lap 1 of GVE. I think you made a slight mistake on the final turn that allowed me to get closer at the start of lap 2...but even from 2-4 car lengths back I could draft you and close the gap. After that you were gone.

The PP system simply doesn't work very well. I guess they just use raw hp,tq, and kg values to put a number on cars...but there is no factor for tire width, camber, or power band.

force :) looks like I lost some short term memory lol

I think chuyler downloaded that race, would be nice to see it ! Yes, you definitely put a lot pressure on me right before the last chicane couple of times but I managed to brake right on the spot.. I was actually going to chase you better after your inevitable pass but I ended up dropping a tire in the sand at the schumi chicane exit which shaved off 20mph off my speedo

Rome was good race, but I was hoping to run against your NSX not the S2k :) I had ran that track at the gt academy, it takes time to get that kink right :) I think 1:16.XXXs are very much doable..What is your best time there ?

You should, especially when I lap you after your second pit.

Well when i am testing cars i usually driving several cars in a session so i limit my runs to 3-4 laps. The best time i can find on my sheet is a 1'17.3 in a 01 NSX and a 1'17.4 in the FT86 concept.I cant find any times for the Evora and 3400 but im sure i never ran a '16.I did a '17.7 in the Type S-zero but that was in my first 3 laps in that car.

I agree that 16's are possible and there are probably a half dozen cars that can run that time. Its been a long time since i did any hot lapping but i will do some thumb exercises and give it a shot.

yeah, i do the same with my cars. Once it beats another car, i dont push anymore, just make sure the lap is clean..GVE is my test track, very simple, not much chance of messing up when you push hard..gets the job done faster.

You might find that the other FT86 is faster, the concept gave me hard time getting rid of the understeer.

So who is on tonight ? are we running 400pp classics (Could we run SH or SM and let them stick this time ?) or the 450pp AWDs ?

400pp classics with sport hard tires works. Open a pub room or use my lobby. I'll try to get on later.

i'll check the lobby later on, open lobby doesnt really work for theme nights..
