I've had an idea that this group my be interested in. Maybe I'll host it one night for anyone who wants to test it out.
I call it Beat the Loser.
There are some games where the winner is always obvious. The old Axis and Allies game was this way. Not only was the winner obvious, but the first few turns were completely scripted. To make things more interesting, people auctioned. They would, sort of like Name that Tune, auction handicaps. I can win with only X. Well, I can win with only X-1.
The idea would be the loser of the previous race picks a car from the recommended garage (no tuning allowed). Everyone else takes the least amount of PP that they think they can win with.
Say the loser starts at 400 PP. Bob takes 390 and Joe takes 380. Bob wins, Joe gets second, and the loser, surprisingly, loses again. Bob gets 10 points. But Joe gets 20. Joe actually gets credit for winning the race.
If the loser from the previous race wins this race, then it is no big to do. One only gets points for beating someone with more performance points.
The idea could use some tweaking.
