This video is epic...

Having grown up at the base of the Sierras, I was amazed at how many people can't drive in snow or ice here, but I was even more amazed at how many trucks here are not 4 wheel drive.

I fared better than most.

nice truck.. i'm guessing you swap out those MTs in the winter or have them siped or do you just not get enough of the white stuff to warrant a change?

I heart my Jeep in the snow, even on ATs it's great. On a set of dedicated snows it goes places where it shouldn't.

You guys and your consistent snowfall... :)

I currently live in Colorado. Been thinking of getting a Jeep for a while now to deal with the snow. Would be nice. :)

Question: If you crest a hill and see multiple mulit-car pileups on the way down the other side, what makes a person think, "I'll be the one to make it?"

I will be opening a room in a few minutes for standard 450PP SS races

St. Louis? I grew up south of there in Cape. Post your room number and I'll try to join.

That is human nature. I think that is why the death penalty doesn't appear to curb crime. Criminals don't think, "I shouldn't do this, they'll put me in the chair." They think, "I'll be the one to get away with it."

Room up Dabney and I are bored. Plz help

Truck now has BFG-ATs. Those Xterrians turned out a lot better than I thought they would be. Even in off-camber stuff, they still had a lot of lateral traction.

I also have a 93 Wrangler in the garage... along with my quad... and my homebrew equipment... and my tools.

Wrangler is a I-6 5 speed. Tuffy console and glove compartment, full Banks exhaust, Center-force 2 clutch, and some other stuff on a bald set of 31" Bridgestone Ats . Over 200K. Still has great compression and the head has never been off.

I had the 4.0L in my old Jeep Cherokee. Had almost 310000 miles when I sold it to a kid who wanted to wheel it, the motor was still very strong.. the pan leaked a touch but as best I could tell there was no oil burning going on and it did not live an easy life. They are old school but last forever. The rest of the truck tho - salt is not kind to the body.

You guys and your silly 4wd's.

In Kentucky, snow is either hit or miss, and if it hits, 9 times out of 10 it's 1-2 inches. Funny, because we call off school for a half inch. Idiots...

My S10, with a 55 gallon barrel of water in the bed. Lowered with 4" blocks, and heated springs up front. Sittin on the bumpstops, snow driving. Work's great!

2.8L 5 Speed for those of you who care. (Which is none of you, I'm sure.)

We had an '01 Wrangler for a while. 4L I6 with 100k on it. Had to replace the exhaust, ball joints, radiator, and a bunch of other stuff. My wife was driving it every day, and every month it was something new. She got sick of taking it in so she traded it for a Dodge Nitro R/T. That wasn't bad, but being another Chrysler product things still broke and gas mileage wasn't great. That's gone now and she's got the 2012 Focus now.

I'll take snow tires over 4WD/AWD any day. My next car probably won't be AWD. I just don't think I need it when I always install snows.

Majority of people, especially those that live in urban areas, probably don't (need 4WD/AWD) till I get to make a few bucks yanking them out of the ditch. Up here though, once you get an hour north of the city the snow can really pile up.

I live an outdoorsy lifestyle that takes me off the pavement quite a bit (trips down logging roads, trails into hunt camp, pulling boat up an icy launch in December) therefore, it's a must for me.

Yeah, the few times I've been stuck in snow covered parking lots the 4WD has been a blessing. I ski a lot in the winter so there have been times I've had to make it up steep poorly plowed access roads or had to find my way out of 8" of snow that has fallen during the day. I just don't need it on a daily basis.

My wife wants another jeep as a fun vehicle (just not a daily driver). Once we get one, I think my next car will be RWD and we will use the Jeep for ski trips and winter excursions.

Weather conversation :banghead:

good racing last. Started off with a weak field, but that changed. A couple hours in and the racing was very close. nic, myself, accu_rate and adrenalinjunkie had an epic 5 Lapper.. finishing .7 apart 1-4.

I will be doing my best to HOST restricted 450s on Monday nights. After a few warmup races...drivetrain restrictions will be employed to force people out of comfy MR cars and into FF, FR, 4WD or a combination if them.

I am thinking to of running 2 short enduro next thursday (11/10) They'll be roughly 40 min. sports softs with drivetrain restriction (we'll vote on which) races @ 450pp. I will post up in interest checks for other racers to join. Will be open lobby, tire wear, real grip, no aids except abs, light damage weak slipstream and no penalties. expectation is to follow olr.

(I may have misspelled names up there)

Room Up-- OPEN 450PP sport softs

Damn. I was looking for somewhere to race last night. I'll have to remember to send you a friend request diabolic.

edit: I'm going to send out some friend requests to some names I've seen on these threads. I can never seem to find anybody to race with lately. If anybody wants to send me a request that would be great too. I usually race about 2-3 nights/week from 10:30-1:00 Eastern Time.

room was a bust last night...power outage wreaking havoc I imagine. Found a guy running mini enduros on Spa (10-15 lap) and aside from poor pit strategy..ran well against some tough competition. A delorean nearly won the 15 lapper! Ill have room up 10pm est unless osprey or someone else gets a ring night going. If its me..we'll be at 500pp...longer circuits

What was the pit strategey? Did you pit instead of staying out?

I'm getting the itch to race. I've done all of 5 laps at Spa and only a few quickies at the new kart tracks. I want to do more un-tuned racing!

Miata touring car spec racing?

Races were 500 pp racing hards. i pit end of lap night 9 in first. leaders pit end of 7 and 8. races were rear drive only. cars were nsx, m3, tii concept, hsc concept, delorean and s2000. there were multiples of some. my pit lap was an extra 10 sec over previous...it went downhill so fast and my hsc was very floaty on corner entry.

i dont have dlc so touring cars are out for me. :( I may purchase soon, but not this week.

I'm gonna wait. I don't need the TCs just yet and chances are, they'll lower the price and/or bundle it with future DLCs.

The TC cars in the DLC are not in the Touring Car selection in the car type drop down box.

They can't be used in a room with Touring Cars only selected.

The old pixely standard Mercedes ported from GT4 (maybe even GT3) can be used. The new high speed low drag stuff we all just paid for can't be used.

Whats the plan for tonight? I'd be interested in joining. Just curious of what the restrictions would be.

Nurb room is up 1472 6118 3830 2747 9453

only restrictions are 450pp sport softs

joining now....

Nurb room...count me in.

I was going to have a room up in a few minutes, but thought I'd check the thread one more time and vaula.

Haha..found that out myself tonight. Wanted to use my beautifully tune RX-7 TC in a "Touring Car Only" room and it wasn't available for selection. They switched up to "American Muscle" after that, and although the Challenger RM car was available for selection, I couldn't enter the track with it, and there were no other limitations.

For everything PD gets right, two wrongs go with it...lol.
