Definately the most interesting night of 450PP races to date. The Toscana jumping display was great, but nothing compared with hearing WiiFreak plead with his Samba to make it up the hill on Eiger...priceless.

re: wednesday

chuyler has it listed as German Night at the 'Ring. I am not sure that will be the case. I did Euro night at the 'Ring last week and it became mostly german night anyway. ;) I'll likely leave it open but it will be dusk 'till dawn.

LOL, that was funny. I was behind the samba bus for a little while, I'm surprised how well it ran on the downhill parts of the track. which reminds me, is it possible to go fast down the steep hill without hitting the side of the track? I couldn't keep the car in control on that part of the track.

Ok, I'll update the OP to say "open duck 'till dawn".

Racing in the snow...

that Samba was epic!!!! was laughing the whole entire race! kudos to all! that downhill was really tricky, tried just braking no throttle input i was still slamming by the 2nd turn! WTH!

most fun i have in online racing! :)

the video show how hard is it when your behind driving in snow! the visibility is just CRAZY!

my apologies to fatrabbitbrain for punting him i think 5-6 times in that crazy dusty night rally in toscana. no matter what i do to avoid ramming him it was just crazy! visibility was just plain crazy! overtaking 2 guys in front of you just seems impossible!!! :guilty:

No probs, it was good fun and I was trying to line you up afterwards anyway ;) Good news is that my Fanatec wheel has finally shipped so hopefully I can be a little more competitive.

Congrats! guess ill be seeing more of your rear end often! :nervous:

try to bring in the muscles for Muscle Car night!!!

Damn, i'll be left in the dust in my lowly DFGT.

Anyone care to share their tuning setups for rally? Any changes between dirt and snow?

I was running +10/+10, lowered the spring rates from default by about 1 to 1.5, dropped the compression to 2 across the board, and had the rollbars at 1. No camber, and default toe. Transmission was set to 149mph for all the tracks (may have been too tall for the dirt tracks though)

Car was very tail happy on the ice which was great for the switchbacks but difficult on the straights. On the dirt, I was inconsistent with my driving so its hard to say what I should've changed.

My PSN decided to stop working last night, very odd. It's been happening to me quite often.

That wasn't me on Eiger, it was someone else who's name escapes me right now, but I was running the Stratos that race and I didn't have my mic turned on (I've never actually used my mic, yet...). I drove my Samba bus on Toscana :dopey:

That's what happened to me. I think it was Comcast. Internet was fine from my PC, wireless was fine for playing mp3s from my PC on the PS3...but I couldn't sign into PSN. After 45 minutes of fiddling it just started working again. :ouch:

All my other things worked fine also, doubt it was a problem with our ISPs. I have fios.

I thought it might have been a DNS issue so I switched my PS3 over to a static IP and entered new DNS servers manually. That didn't help though.

take this with a grain of salt, as I did poopy on the rally races last night (though I think that's more to do with driver issues)

but, if you look at the actual 'stickered' rally cars in the game their default suspension tunes all have spring rates in the 4-6 range (which is still soft compared to race cars) and high damper values (8). camber is -0.5 f/r and arbs fairly high in the 6 range. that's what i used as a baseline for my tunes last night.

Racing in the snow...

I find it funny that all through the first 7 turns of the race, my car put out no snow, but everyone else's did.

Guess I am just not on the throttle as hard as you guys. By the way, I maintain that my cars just randomly spin out due to in game attacks on my internet connection if I am winning. Yes, that's it...

Ahh, good tip. I didn't think to look at the rally cars in my garage for help. I was running like 4/3.2 for springs which was below the "fully custom" default settings but I guess my dampers were too soft. I definitely bottomed out in the bumpy straight section of the snow course in the video above.

My impreza on eiger was Stiff....medium-hard spring rate/high damper/high ride height...but still softer than the rally version;)

Oh...either way it was hil-ar-ious

PS: Might not make it on tonight. Tornado warning everywhere within 20 miles of me for the next 90+ minutes and headin our way. Already had 2 touch down about 30 minutes away. :nervous::nervous: Ping pong size hail....my poor impreza's not thrilled

Muscle car night in my private lounge. Send me a friend request to get in.

Video from Muscle Car Night... Good times. Next week I'm going to try something other than the Cougar. That car is very unforgiving.

It was a blast last night even though a I wasn't anything more then a back marker. Sorry about the confusion with the Special and the Cobra I just looked in my garage and they were the only cars I had from that period. I went and bought the '71 Mustang for the last race it was hard to drive with the quick tune I gave it. Next time I'll work on some tune to try to be better prepared.

Good fun racing, couldn't get my charger dialed in exactly how i wanted it, but still a good time as usual!

I'm thinking next week for muscle car night, everyone should pick up some dirt tires. I'll set up some simple oval dirt tracks using course maker and we can battle it out fender to fender.

Does that sound like fun?

Fun...Like a blind date with a walrus at Sea World

Fun as long as everybody realizes it's gonna be carnage and nobody complains about being hit.

It was hard enough to control rally cars on dirt (at night) and muscle cars will be worse.

Maybe set boost on high, damage on heavy, and have a demolition derby of sorts?

i agree and looking forward to it, its like another menu on the table! sweet and spicy! way to go Chef! i mean Chuyler for cooking up the idea! :)

dont want to eat the same food every week so a rotation of sorts keeps the playing exciting!!! 👍

Absoultely! I just whipped up a few tracks with the course creator. I couldn't get ovals, but tri-ovals will suffice. It will be like pocono, except dirt!

I've got 4 tracks to try
1. Dirt Tri-Oval 1 (afternoon, moderate turns)
2. Dirt Tri-Oval 2 (morning sunrise, wide turns)
3. Sn-oval (basic 3 turn oval in Alaska)
4. Snow Cross (a large banked turn followed by some tight switchbacks)

We'll try some different settings as far as boost and damage go to get the right dose of carnage. It will either be Monday or Tuesday night.

mine was running well, me and osprey have identical cars down to the rims, but his set up was really fast especially on the Ring. although i lost a lot on the straights as you guys keep overtaking me only to realized i was running at 450pp the first 2 races. what a bummer!

the rest i credit to driver error on throttle control and few unlucky bumps.

chuyler, have my evo online, check the set up for rally night see if it helps!
