Is there some sort of secret X1 only event? Where you race other X1's?

a special event unlocks at level 30.

You have to get at least bronze at nurburg gp, monza, and suzuka with the x1 to get the car.

No racing others. alone on the track trying to beat a time.
 
Ah yeah i knew that i was just wondering if thers an actual X1 race...

I guess Online is where it is.
 
I do think this challenge is more aimed towards the wheel users. I only have a controller and can honestly say I have tried my best to get a bronze. My closest now is 3.4 secs on the Monza circuit. I would love to know if somebody is able to do it with the controller.
 
just think of an F1 car X/1.5 speed. It's doable, you just have to keep at it. Figure out where the braking points are, which aren't much, a flick of the brakes a tap down of a gear or two seems to make it ready for ANY turn, cant wait to try it myself.
 
I am happy to try the difficult challenges at lvl 30, but will defenitely give away the car as a gift to friends.

So ugly and useless...as someone said "out of Ridge Racer"
 
Got it yesterday. It´s incredibly hard but doable. Did it with a G25.

I suggest taking all driving aids off. If you can get used to the different ways the car handles with different assists then youll be able to do it alot better.

I just got monza bronze, .04 seconds under the time :D

I just did Monza about 1 sec below bronze level. I had to do it a few times to get the feel of the car while gradually decreasing my time. Before I made it I was very close about 3 times in a row. I was saying to myself that it is crazy. As soon as I hit bronze I stopped not only because otherwise it was pretty late in the night but I also realized that I need another day to get better with this car to reach Silver in Monza if ever I reach it and/or to break bronze with the other tracks that I think are harder than Monza so at least with the bronzes I could receive the X1. After that I can practice more with it and maybe get back to the Vettel challenge to aim for Silver or maybe Gold.
It is not easy for many of us regular folks. Sebastian Vettel did not reach the level where he is now in F1 in a day. He practiced many-many years since he was a little boy. The advantage to drive a real car is that you totally learn to feel the car as you are in it versus our advantage is that we can try our hardest in no time since we are not in a real car racing on a real race track so we can make as many mistakes -leading to sure accidents- as we can without injuring or killing ourselves.

Lastly I say the X1 is a monster, but an elegant one! :)

Yep so far 6 hours of trying my best and im not even close to getting a bronze in any of the challenges. 7 seconds was my closest on the Monza circuit, the other tracks im not even near the times needed. Amazing car though. I think the only chance of me having it is when I reach level 40 to purchase it. Best of luck to those who are on thier way of passing it :)

but i did get to within 1.178 seconds off bronze
v difficult with ds3 but can be done....i know where i lose time ....buts its a different place each time!

Whats the problem with the challenge? I've seen a few videos and it looks like it's glued to the road, full throttle through 90 degree corners!! How can you make a mistake?

The thing is glued to the road, so much so that it takes a while to get used to how late you have to turn in. But the thing which makes this challenge so hard with the DS3 is that the car is so damn twitchy, you have to be ultra smooth with the analog stick and even then you can make mistakes very easily. I bronzed all of them last night, and I will probably go for silver soon. I'm sure it's possible to get silver around Monza, but the other two will be incredibly difficult, let alone gold.
 
Gold on monza is very easy (if you wana skip the chicanes) the trickiest corner i had was one of the right handers after the second chicane, 3 tries golded me monza, nurburgring was alot trickier i had to watch some video's on that then 30 mins later hit gold, half an hour into suzuka now and im 2 secs off gold, the trick is just staying on not being quick enough. I have tried this challenge on ds3, g27 and thruxmaster and ds3 is very hard, g27 (is just stupid in gt5 generally the FFB is just a joke, which is a shame since it cost £400) something like and thruxmaster or DFGT will make the challenges easier. Also watch some video's they will show you what lines you need, they have helped me so far.

EDIT: i find TCS off, ABS 1, SRF on everything else off (and Automatic) makes the challenge easier too.
 
I managed to get all bronze after a few hours...I doubt gold or silver is possible for me. The challenge was a challenge for my DFGT too...it got pretty hot by the time I was done:nervous:

I found that turning on the driver aids really kills your times though. I was almost 15sec's off with aids but was able to get the time once I turned them all off.

The X2010 has so much grip that the aids really aren't needed. I did use an automatic transmission though.

1.1 sec off bronze with DS3 after maybe 6-7hrs trying. did it within 20mins using g27. nurburg hard and suzuka very hard even with wheel but done!

TCS and ASM do really slow you down , but skid recovery doesnt....
think about it TCS and ASM reduce the power to maintain traction whereas SRF increases the grip without reducing the power (its supposed to be for beginners as the game says).

Also i read on one of these forums some guy golded it and used SRF on and ABS 10, not entirely sure how but ABS 10 did help my times.

tried the X1 in practice mode at monza, stock settings, racing softs ...within few laps got a 101.568 flying lap....thats gold territory...:)
 
Hi, I am struggeling with this challenge for more then 10 hours I think. I finally finished bronze on Monza and I am trying to get 2 laps on Suzuka for over 8 hours I think. I am at level 32, but I guess it will take another year to get to level 40 to be able to buy the Red Bull car and I think that is absolutely ridiculous.
 
I got gold at Monza but only bronzed the other 2 , they seem so hard to do ! Not an easy challenge at all. 2 days wasted !! I use a wheel too, FFS !! It isn't easy.
 
I don't really enjoy driving the car, so whether I try to complete these challenges is still up in the air. Everything about driving this car feels so wrong. I am kind of afraid that if I ever learn to half drive this car then I will be ruined from driving a "normal" car well.

That being said, anyone care to share some tips on how to go about learning to drive the car? Right now my strategy is just to keep the thing centered in the road as much as possible.
 
At level 30 it indeed appears in GT Concepts dealership. You can have it for 20mn credits pal!
 
Unless you want a true challenge just save up some cash and get the steering wheel. It will make your life easier... trust me. I never used my wheel until this challenge. I bought my Logitech wheel years ago from Sam Goody when they were going out of business for $19.99!!! One of the last things in the store. Altogther it took a little over 6 hours to get bronze on all tracks, with the wheel I got all golds in 2. Sad thing is once I got the carbon X1 the game felt over for me.
 
The "easiest" way to get one (by easy I mean requiring less effort - but it still takes a long time) is to get BSpec Bob up to level 35, then you are awarded the X1 for nothing. :)

The Vettel challenge is not at all fun, although the car is amusing to try and drive flat out. I spent about an hour getting Bronze on all 3 and nearly destroyed my desk and wheel in the process. I can honestly say I will never do the challenge again and consider silver or gold a pretty fantasy. By far the hardest, if not the most annoying, challenge ever in a GT game.

Interestingly, although the X1 appears for sale at level 30, you still can't buy it until level 40. What's that about PD? Dangle the carrot and kick us in the nuts simultaneously. Nice one :)

I suppose it's simply because the challenge unlocks at level 30, but it is still stupid. Would be nice for some to be able to buy it first and practice without being continually disqualified.
 
I finally got Bronze on this (DS3 - driving aids default - control sensitivity 7).
The trick for me was switching camera to behind the car - I normally use bumper cam but this car goes so friggen fast that it's disorientating when going around corners in bumper cam.
 
Here are some tips (I finished all except Susuka):
1. Stop grinding Indy, grind something with corners.
2. Tell yourself to relax when racing.
3. Get to know the braking points as well as the turning points.
4. If you repeatedly do a corner wrong, brake slightly earlier for that specific corner, watch a replay of you or another person doing it right, or turn slightly differently.
5. Watch the replays and use them to get a general idea for where to break.
6. Brake late or brake while turning when you can.
7. On Monza cut the first chikane and third one.
8. On Nurburgring you can brake while turning on allot of turns.
9. On Nurburgring you can turn all the way on the second turn, just don't hit the barrier.
10. On Susuka you can brake less then you think, just keep on trying.
12. After doing very good and then you make a mistake, watch the replay to learn from it and also to watch how to do the race in your driving style.
11. don't don't don't give up. I spend the first 10 tries on Monza getting out the pit stop and now I'm at Susuka.

I spend 1 hour on Monza and over 2 hours on Nurburgring.

EDIT: driving aids: all of except ABS 1 and Active Stabilizer (thing) on. Controller sensitivity 7. (sorry for bad English or spelling mistakes)

EDIT2: I've finished the whole challenge bronze.

Simulators are often used to find out how something will work in the real world and this prototype car was developed with real world guidelines. The point of the simulator was to test out how fast the car would be without making it and that it was quite a few F1 teams do. They test out 'imaginary' parts on a 'imaginary' car and see how it will work out on the sim too before manufacturing the part for use in real world testing on a car. Don't forget the FGT is also a made up car and it is now a GT series trend, I wonder if they will try and make a revised fastest Formula car again. I also wonder if Adrian Newey got a few good ideas from the X2010 that made the RB6 and RB7 much faster in real world F1.

I think Kaz said himself that some car manufacturers wanted to use GT as a sim to see how well a new concept car would drive.

Anyway, interesting title although I know this thread is old. I took about 5 hours I think to Gold all three and that felt ages to me considering the challenge in terms of total lap time was less than 10 minutes to complete. There must be quite a lot of top players who did this challenge quickly, probably under 1-2 hours if they used SRF like I did. I used a DFGT though so I have massive respect for people doing it with a pad as I tried around Suzuka with a pad and failed miserably and think getting Bronze would be just as hard for me with a pad as getting gold with a wheel.
 
you could also get to level 35 in b-spec though its far longer to do than 6 hours.
 
I just got the X1 (X2010) yesterday (Level 30)... it was pain in the ass hahaha... i use G25, my arms so tired & my heart pumped all the way the challenge... it was few hours of great experience... WOW!!! That X1 really are great car...

The Sample Replay in each challenge really helped me to learn the braking and cornering properly... although i only manage got Bronze. But it's ok, I still got the X1 for free :)

After i finished the Sebastian Vettel Challenge & got the X1, I race it on Nurburgring (the Full Track)... maaan!!! I bumped all over the place hahahaha... but so fun and so quick!! But slowly... i can drive it properly... with minor mistakes (and big one too)... STILL! ahhaha :p
 
PD should of used Sebastian Vettel original time for this damn challenge its unfair that they let him do several runs and use his best time.
