I feel that I should warn people DO NOT try to do the glitches unless you have never upgraded to 2.00 or 2.01, whichever one gave us the free Toyota 86. If there's any DLC (even this) on your save then it will freeze the game if you go back to an earlier version. Polyphony did this to stop people exploiting the early glitches that were present.

I'm quite surprised that PD have never combated Duping with something in the game data too.

the games been out for some time now and your just knowing this.?

I cannot understand your meaning from your post.

Assuming you're referring to me--you didn't quote anyone--I made more than one point. What exactly does "this" refer to?

This (not the warning, the information) brings a smile to my face for a reason I won't go into. :)

I'm glad I could help brighten your day!

lol WTF are you smoking

You do realize that PD would have to PATCH that into a (previous version of the game) that you would have to then download.. which would be impossible..

I cannot speak to the event of getting into a DLC car, or being inside of one while you rollback to glitch, maybe the game will freeze. But I can assure you PD has not implemented anything of the sort

2:06.6 is a great time--especially using DS3! I wouldn't say I made "cockups" in my Monza gold, but I can certainly see that I was driving to conservatively through the first chicane, and after watching others do it, I can see that I was generally braking too early.

One question, if you manage to see this post: What's the "SS" listed in your settings? -The only number possibility besides ABS is TCS, no?

(I believe my settings were the following. I was experimenting with ABS and TCS though, so I'm not completely sure there:

TCS: 1 (it may have been off)
SRF: On
ABS:10 (I was also trying 5 here)
Controller: 7)
Thanks for your kind words. As for "SS," I must apologise because I translated Polish equivalent to "steering sensitivity," where it should be, I believe, "controller sensitivity." Hence, CS and not SS. ;)

I'd stated that it was bad phrasing, but I just realised that it was just that I didn't explain it fully. I meant that I think that's why they gave us free cars without us having a say. I will say though, I did actually imply that heavily, so... WTF are YOU smoking? :p

I will make it clear though, it actually doesn't matter if you are in the car or not, having DLC installed will freeze the game or cause it to perpetually load. Of course, I'm just guessing that that's what causes it, but it's the only thing that makes sense.

I see. :) I probably should have worked that out seeing the number was "7". :dopey:

Right. Well, despite using your tunes on occasion, now I have to hate you forever :p

At least you got heart Corvargh, for pressing on for 6 hours.

I barely did 20 minutes before I said 🤬 it and went on a 6-star rampage in GTA4.

2:11.597 on Suzuka. I can actually smell silver.

Edit: 2:11.174

Suzuka: 2:10:244. For .756 of a second there, I thought I had this one. Oh well.

Edit: 2:10:038 &$@€ing stupid $#¥€-ar%e game!

Second edit:

Suzuka Gold with 2:09:907. One more to go!

Done.:boggled: I can now add Nurburgring to the list to complete the challenge. 2:07.809, from memory. All things considered, Suzuka was clearly the hardest and required the most time. Oddly enough, Monza and Nurburgring were very close in difficultly and time required for me. With Nurburgring, it took a long while to figure out a reasonable path and good braking distances. Once that was done though, the 2:08 target didn't seem supremely difficult.

Not that I'm the expert here at all, but, if you're starting out on these challenges, be prepared to put time into each of the tracks.

You have to find the settings you can work with, and become familiar with the track and its speeds. After that, work out the braking distance needed for each corner, and practise running consistent laps with those braking distances. Once you are comfortable at that, start pushing the braking distances back on each corner (and hitting the accelerator as quickly as possible) and finding the maximum speed possible along each part of the track.

Use YouTube and your own replays to gain some perspective over what you are doing right and wrong, and then persist. People suggest practising in X2010/x2011 cars to get used to the physics of the challenge. I didn't drive in any of my X cars though (they're all 0/0/0) and--once I'd decided to tackle the challenge--I don't think running practice laps in an x2010 would have helped at all.

Overtook vettels ghost on Suzuka, was truly shocking (of course, it didn't happen on my first attempt).

Nice! I got close and managed to stay close, but I don't believe I ever overtook the ghost on Suzuka.

Dang this thread is old...

I've got All Golds on two accounts haha, started the second one just to do the challenge again... I love it... :dopey:

I really don't see why people hate that car so much...

1 question, DS3 or Wheel?

how do you get to lvl 30 so fast? I am only on lvl 21 and it takes forever to level up. which races are good to do?

Endurance races give you the most XP... but Seasonals also give you a lot of XP!

I understand that. I just think that it defies the logic of creating the car in a simulator when no driver, human at least, could withstand the ridiculous G-force numbers it produces. Better yet is the fact that it impedes players who don't have a steering wheel from getting the Platinum.

Erm, I dont think the Redbull subjects the drivers to anywhere near the kind of G's that would be unmanageable.

In speed test, a top 1/4 tune with this car develops between 3.5 - 4.0 G.

A Top-Fuel 1/4 dragster in the real world can easily exceed 5G! Infact, many F1 cars can touch 5 G under heavy breaking or peak lateral movement... and lets not talk about the truely ridiculous G-force numbers jet pilots and air acrobatic pilots can develop! lol...

I think he means cornering G, the red bull can hit 9G in corners, and in long duration corners could cause the driver to black out, the most a current F1 car produces through a fast corner is 5G

Fighter pilots in g-suits reach 9-12G in high speed aerobatics.

I can't imagine that a human could retain control of his/her functions and the operation of the vehicle performing the way the X2010 does. I can't see that happening through the first part of Suzuka anyway. Then again ... I'm not a fighter pilot. Hehe.

The argument would quickly become mute when the X2010 hits the barrier at 300km/h.

I have a DS3 controller but my controller settings are custom, allowing me to turn how much or little I want to because I use my stick instead of my D-Pad, It helps A LOT!

It helped me out a lot, It only took 1 hour on the 3rd track and 45 min each on the 2nd and 1st to get bronze.

Bump.

Suzuka is easier than the Ring. Period. :dopey:

Now I have silvers on both tracks but I'm pretty certain that should I gold any of those, Suzuka will be first. I like the GP Ring, I know the track and I'm used to it. However, after two hours of trying, I managed only to do 2:09.4xx, which is 1.4s slower than the target time. I thought Suzuka was the hardest and it's not my favourite track, so I went there with all skepticism and guess what? 2:10.9xx after just couple of tries (0.9s needed). Some of my 2nd laps were at around 1:04.7xx, I just need a little bit more confidence on first lap.

My tools are:
DS3
SRF: on
ABS: 1
Else: off

I do think this challenge is more aimed towards the wheel users. I only have a controller and can honestly say I have tried my best to get a bronze. My closest now is 3.4 secs on the Monza circuit. I would love to know if somebody is able to do it with the controller.

I did it. I set the sensitivity to 7 though.

Ive completed all the tracks with bronze and Monza silver with the pad. Silver on the others I simply cant reach.

I got gold on the first two, but pretty much drove myself to the point of utter boredom at Suzuka. About 1.7 seconds from gold but I'm just SOOOOO sick of those stupid events. I never want to drive the X2010 in the game because of course you win every race by ten miles, but I'm supposed to practice driving it to the point of absolute mastery.

this challenge is balls theres no possible way of getting gold in all three and as this came out after the game this should not be counted towards the platinum trophy i think gt really messed up on this one

Pretty sure it was always in the game from November. They just adjusted Bronze times from 2 seconds to silver to 10 to make it actually to complete it.

As stated, the event was there from the start, and it is possible to gold all of the events, even with a control pad.

It is an expert challenge and therefore is not meant for everyone. It's your choice whether to practice or give up.

I think the worst part of the challenge is that PD gave everyone an X2010 if you logged in to the game during a certain time period as a celebration of Vettel's championship win in Formula 1, meaning it lost some exclusivity and status to own the car.
