just in case a stint is one period of racing between pit stops

there's single, double, triple, quadruple and last year we saw a quintiple stint. If you're still unsure, quintiple means four stints on one set of tires. You don't change the driver before you change the tires so the driver does at least the same amounts of stints as the tires.

Ah, I see. So a quadruple stint is basically four stints on one set of tires. But how is it different to a normal stint?

Yawn...just finished an essay I had to made and I'm full of a feeling of "I'm a mediocre and wasn't able to write what I actually understood". The race isn't helping my mood, I'm finding it boring at the moment.

What do you say guys, is it worth drinking a couple of Red Bulls and watching the rest of the 9 hours? I'm no longer sure... :(

They raced last year in the ALMS, shame they dropped out.. Easily was the best sounding car in the field, even better than the Corvettes.

They had issues with pace and reliability that made Jaguar rethink things and pull out of GT2. I have heard stories that Jag want to return for 2014 which is also when Porsche is planning to return. So if Jag and Porsche come back and if Mazda does join in 2013 along with Toyota and Audi as well as a return for Peugoet possibly. That will be an epic field to watch along with the epic GTE Pro.

In the old days they only did one stint on a set of tires. These days they can go much further on a set of rubber, so they have to refuel much more often than change tires.

Well, thats about it for me, if I lay down now I can get almost 5 hours of sleep and still catch the last four hours of the race. See you all at sunrise, local time :)

I'd say go for it :)
I'll be here for sure

Now we get to see the fastest times of the race. The track is completely covered in rubber, the air is dense and cold and they have good light, and of course, their rythm is by now amazingly fast.

If only we could do that in GT5 too. :indiff:

I mean drive longer on one set of tyres then we can on current tyremodel.

Vickers just tweeted, and it ended like this: "BV still sleep"

Is he tweeting with his mind?

I see that you're mexican so this tweet from Adrian Fernandez might interest you:

Dormí bien y veo q vamos en 2do :) ahora a esperar mi turno ya pronto @Adrianf007

His Aston is currently being driven by Stefan Mücke and running 2nd in GTE Pro, not far from the leader. That's the team I'm actually rooting for in GTE Pro 👍.

I'd say go for it :)

Well, thanks 👍. I'll do my best.

On a normal stint, you come in change 4 tires.
A quadruple stint, you come in 4 times, but do not change tires.

See now?

And a quad drive stint is the same thing, with drivers instead of tires.

Say driver X is pulling a double stint, it means he came in for 2 scheduled pit stops, but didnt get out.

^

Thanks for your example 👍

Ah, alrighty~

I was cheering for the Vette team, but of course I'm interested in what happens with Adrian. I'm happy to see he'll be at the wheel soon. I'll cheer for the Aston now that the Vette team is so far aback. Also, one of those gorgeous black and gold cars is in 4th. Yes.

Is it true that one of the 458's didn't take a pitstop after 14 hours?

All these people from many locations rooting for aston for at least as many reasons :)

My reason: They are the exotic component of the GTE category, plus, given the AMR fiasco last year, I believe Aston needs reasons to keep their Le Mans program, and I do want them to keep it.

I want a Corvette/Aston fight at the end.
It's still possible, I think.
Flying Lizard is coming up to on P6 in their class!
Can't wait!
Im hyped up!

Those are exacly my reasons :dopey:

What do you mean?

a friend said that a 458 in this race didn't even take a single pit stop since the start of the race and stayed on the track for 14 hours until pitting.

There goes Adrian Fernandez! Come on, got dammit! Kick some international ass! YES!

Phisically impossible. Most likely the car retired early (Likely the #81 crashed by B-Spec Pierazzini) or he's having problems with the live timing, which has been a comon issue.

Hmmm, I've checked the live timing and no car is registered as having 0 pitstops. Even #56, who only ran for 17 laps, is registered with 1 pitstop. Sooo...there you go.

I think he means laps, not hours. You cannot race 14 hours on about 100 litres of fuel. One of the ferrari's was very fuel efficient and could do 14 laps instead of 12 for the other teams

Ricardo Gonzalez is also driving right now in the Zytek/Nissan! You go too, dude!!!
