Haven't tried the 908, but if it's anything like the R10 then I'd go for the 787B.

The R10 is a handfull even on Soft Racing tires, it wants to throw you into the trees on the exit of every corner unless you have a feather light right foot, the 787B is much more driveable in my opinion, the R10 has so much torque it's quite a challenge, and in the wet ? Forget it !

Put it this way, my second wet lap on the Nurburgring with the 787B was a clean lap, I still haven't managed that with the R10 after a couple of hours trying !

(with all AIDS off of course, except ABS)

Startin Driving the Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car 89' for the Like The Wind race and it smokes won it in a B spec race I believe way faster than my 908. I think The Minolta is running 1008HP at 850KG!

The Toyota sounds real nice too.

My 908 just beat B Spec in Like the Wind, now I am gettin ready to take em down in A spec, the 908 looks sensational and it is hard to beat on the track. I am going to try and get a 787b later on though for variety.

I don't know if it had been addressed by anyone in here but the reason why the 88C-V is seemingly faster than the 908 is because of the technical regulations during that time and the fact that the measuring stick we use is the 24h of Le Mans itself.

It's an endurance race that balances speed with reliability. The 908's won a few years back because they had the perfect balance-- coming up short to the R15 Pluses because of reliability. Back in the Group C days they were blisteringly fast but reliability can make a stallion into a donkey-

Seeing as we only have speed to measure the cars in GT5 the 88C-V will win everyday!

Finally I got the Audi R10 TDI '06 :D
Haven't tested it properly yet but I know that I'll like it (not more than the Peuget lol)

I have both the R10 and 908.
The R10: its torque must be insane, because even though it only have 800 bhp fullytuned, it have no problem following a 908 (tried this online in a drag), and the 908 have 120-130 bhp more. But exiting corners i feel its a little less stable than the 908, and be very carefull with the throttle. But on the other hand, i feel like it handles better than the Peugeot. (dunno if its just a feeling i got)

The Peugeot is a little more stable in the corners, and in a long race, you would prefer this. But the acc. and top speed is the same on both (if they have the same setting). But they are both slower than the Toyota Minolta, so only buy them, if you dont know what to use your money for. But they are pretty funny to drive i gotta admit :D

I cant choose between them actually, but as a dane, i must keep with the Audi, because of our national hero, Tom Kristensen :D

Maybe slightly more off topic but...
I've seen Alan McNish at Silverstone Le Mans Series 2010 in September after his R15 Plus broke down right before our grandstand, well anyway I've seen him in the paddock but then I wasn't sure whether it was him or not, so I didn't ask for his autograph or a picture with him... I feel gutted now... It was him :guilty: and I could have had a picture with him and an autograph... Next year maybe... 💡

Actually, 908 has so much more torque than any Le Mans Audi before...

EDIT:

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP 1200Nm
Audi R10 TDI 1100Nm

Yep, but i refuse to believe that the Peugeot should have the aerodynamics of a squared box since its just as fast as an R10 (or maybe just a little bit faster, even though the engine is superior to the Audi) :D

Surely it isn't AS fast...

2008 1st Audi R10 TDI 2 Le Mans Lap Time (Qualifying): 3:23.847
2008 1st Peugeot 908 HDi FAP Le Mans Lap Time (Qualifying): 3:18.513

Can't argue with 5.334 seconds around a track... That's a year in racing...

Indeed, and i gotta say, i prefer closed LMP-cars (they look cooler, and aerodynamic, its waaay better than the open ones) but i just dont experience the same difference in the game as there is in real life between the 908 and the R10. Or am i wrong?

You don't have to post gigantic images on the thread. ;) Just shrink them down. I already have the stealth model of it.

Imageshack gives you resize options right above the "Upload Now" button.

Yeah true. Only other option is to use a good program to resize before uploading.

Image Shack...

Flickr is a good site to choose the following dimensions: link: http://www.flickr.com/

Square: (75 x 75)

Thumbnail: (100 x 56)

Small: (240 x 135)

Medium 500: (500 x 281)

Medium 640: (640 x 360)

Large: (1024 x 576)

And also original size too (depending if its larger than the large).

Example: Medium 640

Hope you enjoy uploading images onto their site. :)

Pictures from Endurance races never deserve to be used as my wallpapers as the cars are always DIRTY  ^ people in the pits should wash them... :dunce:

Oh man I love dirty race cars! So dirty. Mmmmm you dirty thing.

Anyways, uh, I may look into Flickr
