What shall we do about tyre wear?

Well the Cally and Alfa have had some weight added/power taken away as you know, which means that from my tests, the Merc is only 0.3-0.5 off at SSR5 (both cally and alfa) but at TM its around 0.9 off (the alfa, only 0.4 off cally) And well done, you noticed I have nothing to do yet again :D

I can test the other cars if I want to, and I was talking to ETID, not you, and either way I spent 70% of my time at SSR5 in the Merc, and 30% in the other two just to see what they were like, and I used my Merc setup for all of them. And then at TM, again my Merc setup for all 3, I just did one fast lap in the Alfa and Cally to get an idea of how they felt, problem?

EDIT: I should really stop getting grumpy :D

Chill guys, now why don't you all make up and let the cars do the talking lol

SSR5

Merc 1:22.446
Alfa 1:22.890

Merc default setup
Alfa own setup

I think that says to all.....

And yes there the new power and weight rules

How old are you Andy? I'm not being funny we just like to know the age of our drivers.

For me:

Merc 1:22.984 with my own setup on my 8th lap of this session (had pitted for fresh tyres), driving on the limit the whole time.

Alfa 1:22.261 with everything default apart from the aero and the transmission, set on my first hot lap ever on this track in this car, incredibly easy to drive. I had messed up the hairpin, so this would have been quicker with more laps.

EDIT: and this track is meant to favour the Merc.

This track was near perfect with the old regulations. The Merc was slightly faster than the Alfa and I was slightly faster than Pagey in the race, finishing second because I lost 4 seconds in the pits due to my car slowing for others. I finished a second behind Pagey. I attribute my pace to the Merc's supposed slight advantage at this track.

That shows that the Alfa is going to be even faster with a setup on it. It's not looking good man!

1:21.765 after a few more laps in the Alfa, still using the same settings.

EDIT: Back to grinding the B-spec seasonal at Spa, since the event expires on the 31st.

What about tyres Joe after 6 with the Alfa/6 with the Mercedes does that bring them inline at all.?

Ah, I didn't check tyres. Guess I'll check them before I do more b-spec.

I'll run 7 laps on each, starting the first lap stationary on the start/finish line to simulate the first half of the race.

Houston, we have a problem!

When I try to load the replay of last weeks race at Fuji my PS just freezes :banghead: and I have to power down and re-start completely.

Probably because there were too many accidents for the processor to process

The replay of GV plays perfectly though! Is this the same for everybody from our room or just me?

I want to watch the race to review a complaint, so if anybody does have a working copy, can you please back up and email it to me by any chance?

PM me and I will send you my email address ;)

My times at SSR5: Alfa 1.21.499, Merc 1.21.914.
Wordup - I forgot to save the reply for Fuji sorry, always forget to save the replay of the first race! Hopefully ill remember this time :D
Oh and I find that tyre wise, the Merc is marginally better, its not as much as it used to be because the Merc has more weight than before so its harder to go round the corners.

I drove the Alfa and Merc for 7 laps as if in a race, so not at flat out qualifying pace that would have badly damaged the tyres. I then went as fast as possible on the 7th lap to see the times I could do on worn tyres.

Merc's remaining tyre after 7 laps: Front left-65% Front Right-70% Both rears-75% Fastest time set in session: 1:23.0xx Lap 7 time: 1:23.909

Alfa's remaining tyre after 7 laps: Front tyres: same as the Merc. Rears: 80% Fastest time set in session: 1:22.50x Lap 7 time: 1:24.108 (I pushed a bit too much and hit a wall. The previous lap (lap 6) was a 1:22.909 though)

I am looking forward to this weeks races, if they were as good as Div 2 was last week. Mercs will be a bit better not the BHP is almost the same :D

Edit: no idea what pagey is doing but he's very fast. Probably has spurgy setup

Spurgy wouldn't give me his set up, I would have shared with my team mates otherwise 👍

I would give you my setup if I had one :D

Evening fella's, as there are a few spaces available my mate is showing interest in joining. He wants to drive the Merc in Division 1.

His PSN is sean100111

He has just joined GTP buy is currently restricted on posting in here as he is new. I can vouch that he is a good fast clean driver.

Good luck talking to him on Mic though, he is from Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. Even my girlfriend (who is Irish) has trouble understanding lol
