What shall we do about tyre wear?

Yeh, thats what annoys me sometimes too, you spend a few corners setting up a move only for them to bully there way back through again straight away, luckily it doesnt happen too often, just when people get a bit desperate. :) And Brett, I was lucky that they were always off my line :D

Yeah, you do get lucky sometimes. I am not bitter, I enjoy racing these cars and it looks like I may have been right about some cars doing better at certain tracks too 👍
Everyone should watch the replays of both races especially the first couple of laps! The cars look awesome all in a line :D

anybody got a capture card to get these online? id be interested to see moments of the spa race in a highlights reel 👍:dopey:

Yes, we have 1 track out of 12 where the Merc is faster :D I think it does also depend on how good your lines are around that track, you can lose heaps of time if you get it wrong as I said before. And I know, they look awesome, especially with everyone overtaking etc. :D
Ray, whats a capture card? :D I would send the replays to you if I knew how :(

I dont have a capture card unfortunatley but maybe something for the future, the footage is sweet though :D

The OP is updated with points and new drivers etc.
Penalties have not been applied, I am a bit behind with it but will get stewarding asap.

capture card can record the gameplay in HD so we could upload to youtube etc :)

Wow, the replay is full of schollboy errors. It reminds me of the early days of the FGTC.
I got multiple corner cutting and two drivers under investigation, I need stewards so far I got Spurgey.
Only apply if I have known you for a couple of months.

The track is designateted as the tarmac circuit INCLUDING the kerbs. If all your wheels go beyond the kerbs or white line if there are no kerbs you are cutting.

Stewards report is finished, check out the results in the OP.
CAA(m)- Causing an avoidable accident minor (normally -1cp)
CAA- Causing an avoidable accident (normally -3cp)
CAA(s)-Causing an avoidable accident serious (normally -5cp)
cp- championship points

The 3rd CCA is for serious accidents is it not? Hopefully the driving will be better at the next race :)

Fixed and yeah, we are not far off but we all need to be singing from the same hymn sheet.
Come by yah, my lord etc. etc. :sly:

Just wanted to point out a few observations after viewing the replay.

Positives-
The start of the races were great to watch, a long line of 90's DTMs scrapping for position :D
Spa was a fantastic drive from Pagey, almost perfect lines and car control all the way through.
Joe deserves a mention for being the most aware and considerate driver on the track, great stuff 👍

Negatives-
Some pretty bad, repeated corner cutting (this includes running wide) from some drivers at Spa.
Some bullying of drivers at DFR, it is not right to dive into a corner and put your car alongside another driver then just wait for him to run out of tarmac in the turn, you gotta back off or give them room. If they have a nose ahead you should back off before running them wide.

Lets dwell on the positives, I think season 2 will be more professionally driven as we all get used to the cars and peoples styles.

Just a shame I had such a bad/slow first half of the race due to this. (assuming you mean Spa)

EDIT: You probably mean both races.

I mean both and you probably do lose the odd place because of it but its better than picking up a load of penalties and will earn you respect on the racetrack (from me at least).

Yeh, it only works if you can get through the traffic quickly or if everyone else does it which never usually happens :( Eiger is going to be a nightmare D: Also, about what you said if they have a nose infront, back off, I would prefer to think, if they have a nose alongside give them a cars width of room, otherwise it takes forever to overtake and people will cut across if you dont move :( In my room if anyone wants to join :)

I meant as opposed to running them off the road. I am thinking about going 50-50 on the power distribution for eiger, play it safe on those downhill turns :nervous:

I hope you enjoyed the DFR Replay Brett (overtaking or how to fight hard and fair).

Looking at the Championship I´m a little depressed. I could be way higher if I was unemployed :D

Next Wednesday is again a 50/50 situation if I can compete in the first race.
2nd isn´t a problem.

A capture card is very expensive (??) but I also would like to see race highlights.
Because we all produce great stuff on Track including some epic fails xD
But thats part of business.

I wasn't disputing I was just clearing my name :) i didn't think you could send links in PMs anyway

And a decent capture card is £115 i think, for a HD one

Oh fair enough, I have to also say that when I watched the replay, Pagey was over the other side of the track and you appeared to fly into the wall randomly so was most likely lag 👍

I have no idea why i named the video accident at spa, it wasn't even there

Edit: fixed it

Both had lagg issues.
Pagey slightly tapped Brett (from pageys view) but if Brett got in the Wall it must have been both with issues
=> From Bretts view it must be a "decent" "ram-attack" or atleast a bigger contact than trading paint ;)

Thats my speculation, maybe a supreme Brainfart though xD

Pagey- Its weird, in the race (and on my replay) you wiped the wall with my car and I slowed down to what felt like almost a stop. I was mad after the race but I did the stewards today and I am cool now :D
I recognise that your video shows the correct lap at the correct time so I shall take the penalty away. Now should I give you a penalty for publicly disputing? :D
Not this time but next time send me a PM and dont crash in front of me again

Sakery- Yeah man, you raced like a legend, shame you are not able to make all the races man because you would be right up there 👍

I could have sworn that by lap 3 I was away from everybody else...... Will have to see the replay to understand what I did wrong...... Good job I saved it!!

EDIT:

Just watched the Spa replay...... Brett, you need to get to Specsavers mate ;-) you got pm mate

Haha, its lap 5 I think, typo. You smashed knelly into the wall as he tried to enter the pits.
Ill go to specsavers when you pass your driving test :sly:
Just stick to PM next time, its in the rules not to publicly dispute penalties!

Autumn ring and Eiger should be an interesting one for penalties, but it of course must be impressed that unless there is a gap wide/long/open enough for your car to pass, chances are the pass isnt going to happen and your going to collide.

I think this is even more important in Eiger, with all the hairpins i doubt anyone will be able to pass unless extraordinarily clean.

I remember in the Spa race, I was racing a calibra and for half the lap we were side by side, awesome racing giving each other space..... wish i saw that again :(

Had a practice with Rich last night, at Autumn Ring I was faster, woo :D But not by too much, he was within 0.002 seconds of my time at one point but he kept spinning and stuff :) But at Eiger he owned me. Its because of the hairpins on the first sector, the Mercs just cant get the power down and are a lot harder to keep in a straight line than the AWD cars. My closest time was a second slower than his and he could have gone even faster :( He did a 1.03.069 if anyone wants a time to aim for. Dont fancy my chance there, and Pagey will probably come along and do sub 1.02s easy knowing him :D Good that we have immortal to help us next week though! :)

How is Immortal going to help you bro?
Eiger is a toughie but I always look forward to these races, I am setting the room to 15 max in the settings this week and people not signed up will be asked to leave to help with the lag.

Oh ok, I thought he was going to join Merc whilst M1 was on holiday, or is he back next week? And he practices so much Im sure he must be able to find one setup that makes the Merc a bit better :D

No I cant be bothered to explain but basically the room will be capped to 15 and no reserves will be used now the roster is full. If someone doesnt turn up it just means more bandwith for the rest of us :)

Brett, do we have to run at Eiger? Because its a messed up track in these cars :( The Merc is slow and the AWD cars have ridiculously bad tyre wear. Could just be me though :D

EDIT: Had a run around in the Alfa, tyre wear was normal and so were the times, maybe it was just something really wrong with my Cally, was using up half its tyres in 3 laps! lol

Oops, ignore all of that, just realised I had TC and racing soft tyres on :D looks like Ill be getting a turnip later! :)
