Hi,

I was just wondering wether you like the used car dealer. My brother hates it. I think it is kind of cool. So, do you like how it is, or would you have rather had one dealership were you can buy all the cars?

Discuss...

Cash being the only sticking point you should be allowed to buy any car in the game.

Why the need to RPG level up to buy a car? Crazy.

It needs to be much, much bigger. Having only 20 or 30 or whatever the limit is set at is ridiculous when it's the only way to acquire 80% of cars in the game.

Also annoying is how it kicks you out of the dealership each time you buy a car. Did it really not occur to them I might want to buy more than one car at a time?

I agree, ALOT. It gits annoying when ther are 3-4 cars you want...

I find that the level being the realistic part. I couldn't see a brand new driver buying a Bugatti, and driving it properly. You need a certain amount of level to be driving things like these, the more speed and power, the greater the risks involved to the driver and the cars around them.

I like the UCD, It seems to work well for me as everytime I check it there's something new for me. I also find that its a good place to find something cheap if you're low on funds. Its good for when you're starting out too.

I read someone thinks that it should all be in the same garage, wouldn't that clutter up the place with a huge garage of cars? When I want something new, I look in the dealership, when I'm looking for something used, guess where I look. This goes for real life and in GT.

Maybe true but except for getting insurance there is nothing physically stopping you buying the car and trying, even if you crash it into a wall. There is no artificial 'level' in real life stopping you from buying certain cars.

I like the idea of having a used car dealership. I just think the game should have featured a dealership for most, if not all, of the standard cars as well. The used car lot would then serve as a less expensive way to aqquire cars, though with the the current disadvantage of them having a lot of miles on them, etc.

It's a very painful experience when you're missing the last 10-20 standard cars. Took forever and a ton of UCD refreshes to get the last.

It would be fine, if the credit cap was about 50m. How am I supposed to buy two 20m cars find from a single set of 30 listed cars??? :(

It'd be a great idea if you could reserve a car, and when it arrives into the UCD, the game would notify you.

The lack of that and the fact that in the early stages of the game you had to be a specific level is the only thing wrong and could be things to improve in the future; GT6.

I like

The fact you can find out what car is comming up next is great for those who like to plan ahead.

If you are ahead of this font of knowledge then it may as well be random to you.

You can also play some games - find cars to compete and win i the seasonals for the 400/500pp events.

Just a random 5 day/ 30 car pool to choose your two cars from.

At least when you do buy these 300,000 mile cars you know they won't break down on you... "Cylinder head gasket...."

So you can't get loads of money from the seasonals and buy a X1 and finish the game within 3 days.

Good point.
But if you have that much money you should be able to buy the car just like in real life! :P

I think they are more than happy to sacrifice the realism here for gameplay. There's no fun in completing the whole game the day after you bought it, is there ;)👍 ?

I like having a UCD it adds to the game. It's not perfect IMO but, I'm not PD nor a game developer so I can't complain.

Well it's not like this is the first Gran Turismo game that features a used car dealership. It has been in all Gran Turismo games I can remember. I don't really like the idea because I never find that one car I'm looking for.

I fully agree. I want more people to see this post.

So true!

I've never understood the point of the UCD. Just one of those things that PD tried to be creative with, but turns out to be something that shouldn't be in the game at all.

Regarding trying to acquire a certain car, what PD should do is have several UCD's each with a certain type of car, just like in real life. There could be a UCD for race cars, a UCD for Lamborghinis, a UCD for Ferraris, etc. This could solve 1) not being able to find a certain car, and 2) the problem of Miatas, NSXs, and Skylines flooding the UCD.

That said, cars will lose their "rarity," and will render the whole concept of trading cars a bit pointless.

I really like Evos, yet I have still never found the '92 in UCD. I had to trade it for my Mugen Civic Race Car and an Opera S2000; NEITHER OF WHICH I'VE FOUND AGAIN- 98% game completion, almost 99%.:ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch:

I hate the fact that in any dealership, NCD UCD or OCD, you can only but one car at a time. The time taken to select, buy and get back in to buy another car(s) is a waste of my time. Thankfully I 'think' I've got 'em all now. Certainly the last 5 turn overs of all 30 cars have shown nothing I don't already own.

well its been in the game since the beggining, and it is a good idea, making you play the game to get your favourite car, or one you need. and there would be no fun if all the cars were laid out for you on a silver platter, because theres nothing to look forward to

Interesting point. I wish that the new cars prices were significantly higher, and the used cars prices were significantly lower though. Like, that one could buy any and all cars, but at a higher cost in the NEW dealership, and that the UCD's prices were even lower. I'd love to buy cars even cheaper than the $5000 karts.

They should have all the cars put into one dealer, because it's simpler and I'd like just looking through all the cars when I'm bored.

They could have an optional UCD where everything is cheaper.

Maybe even special deals on cars!

That's the way the UCD works! When I first started GT5 I bought my first car from the UCD because I found a car that was cheaper than buying it from the Dealership. I think it was a '97 Civic, it was a while ago. I bought the car cheap and still had a few dollars left over for a few upgrades.

You will find most cars cheaper, you DO have to consider that not all of the cars in the UCD are in the dealership and most of them are different years. The UCD is good for looking for something cheap and qualifies for the events.

I love the UCD and I get excited every time a model that I want shows up.

I think there should be at least two UCD... maybe one for models up to 1990 and one for 1991-later models, or maybe one for cars up to 25k miles and one for cars over 25k miles, or maybe one for cars up to $75k and one for cars over $75k. GT4 had two UCD for Pete's sake.

Also annoying is how it kicks you out of the dealership each time you buy a car. Did it really not occur to them I might want to buy more than one car at a time?

Wow... Just press the button and go back in and buy the other model(s) you wanted. Just be grateful that a day does not pass in the game every time you buy a car, as this could cause the next one you wanted to buy to drop off the end of the list. I'm just sayin'... you gotta pick your battles.

It would be fine, if the credit cap was about 50m. How am I supposed to buy two 20m cars find from a single set of 30 listed cars??? :(

I totally agree... but then, I don't understand why there is any credit limit at all. I would not mind if I never again saw that message, "You cannot have more than 20 million credits." Maybe I should look into that multiple-Bob approach to getting multiples of 20 million...

But if you have that much money you should be able to buy the car just like in real life! :P

But just like in real life, no matter how much money we have, the car we want might be rare or there may be other buyers clamoring for it, and so it might not be sitting around just waiting for us at the UCD.

Yes used car dealer ship but there needs to be 100 cars at a time and you should be able to put down payments on a car! Just today saw a Zonda race car for $999,990 only had 300 did 2 races came back gone! I check.it constantly and it usually seems like they sit there for ever and ten of them are freaking lupos and 4 thousand dollar cars who wants that many 68 skylines! Who?
OVER 1000 CARS!!!!!!!
but we show you 200 upfront and 80 a month for 6 months then the premium flips and its 60 cars a month for 8 months
(yea just like a used car lot)

300gs not just 300 sorry just seen that damn auto correct oh and you should.be.able to buy multiple cars at one!

I think it works, apart from kicking you out when you've bought a car. The best thing is looking through and finding oddities or specials that you would never go looking for in a dealership.

Imagine how tedious it would be going into individual manufacturers to look through a all the cars: Nissan would be mindless.

We forget now money is so easy to come by, that GT has always been about getting that second hand car and making the absolute most of it. Doing the Clubman races to get that power upgrade...scraping enough cash to get your next car...
