Okay so this race becomes incredibly easy if you enter in the Rocket and have the grid without the Caterham or Rocket in it... Won by 17 seconds with a spin on lap 3.

I have found the same to be true. I have yet to beat the Rocket, using the Rocket. I can win most times using the Lotus Elise Sport 190, or the Rocket. As a personal challenge when I log on every day, I race this seasonal until I win. Can't wait to see what Thursday brings.

Still waiting on a win against the Rocket / Fireblade combo......

so it comes down to a good car setup and a good driver.....and of course with less mistakes.

I agree. I don’t class myself as a good driver. It often takes me several attempts to Gold the Expert Level challenges. This one against the Rocket / Fireblade fits into that category for me. The Fireblade by itself was too easy for my mind. I’m looking forward to a Rocket / Fireblade win and yes, with less mistakes.

No, because I catch the Rocket with my Rocket even if the Fireblade in it as well, so it comes down to a good car setup and a good driver and you put then to together you would win all the time in this event and of course with less mistakes.

Not really. Because you catch it once or twice doesn't mean you catch it on a regular basis in this particular seasonal.
I bet the majority of times you don't catch it. Be honest now.

Well, a stock Rocket has 556 PP…

Adding 198 kg and Stage 3 engine made easy for me. So does just adding 105 kg. Using the power limiter only, was a bit tough. Everything else stock.

I wonder why PD would put this car in the 520PP race if it has 556PP bone stock? I think I'll try it with the power limiter only.

Even with the Rocket set up at 520pp, it is still not a given for the win. I raced 4 times against the same field, and in 1 of them the Rocket rabbit was still almost 20 seconds ahead of me going into the last lap. The other 3 had me anywhere from 4-7 seconds behind, but I got the win each time.

As said before, I don't think it's as much as the Rocket is that much faster as a rabbit in the race/s... it's more like it starts off the race with too much of a lead making it much harder to catch up to it.

But if the Rocket did not have much of a lead at the start, you will catch it quite easily and win by a long way. So it all comes down to how good you do in the race, like lap times and if you have not good lap times you have trouble catching it.

As has been pointed out on differing occasions previously for the Seasonal's, it is an Expert Level event. As such it is made harder to win. Another example was the recent GT500 event at the Nürburgring. A 28+ second start for the rabbit was difficult to chase down leading to 6 1/2 minutes of teeth-clenching hell :scared:, but (eventually) a win was achievable :).

A 1 in 4 change in the performance of the Rocket at SSR5 is good for variety. That way an 'easy' win isn't always assumed.
