I have tried this tune it is very tail happy, I think this car would be good it you could get the oversteer out of it a bit.

I don't usually like tail happy either, but this one works for me. I'll see if I can get the back end more planted 👍

@coryclifford do you have a tune for the MG TF160 '03?
Of course, but it's very simple and no miracle tune. You gotta drive good.

Improve body rigidity
Change oil

110/110
3.68/3.90
3/3
3/3
3/3
0/0
0/0
Racing brakes at 5/5
LSD 8/9/5
Triple-Plate
All power adders
Fully lightened
Reset trans to default
Max Speed at 174 mph and 4.200 final gear

Should be 497 PP with 353 HP

👍

Thank you so very much I truly appreciate it and will give it my best !

This race can be quite infuriating. You have to pay attention to the starting roster. This is what I do to race this event. You will need to really drive to get the victory. Car - Lotus Elise Sport 190. Top 3 starting roster - Rocket, Elise Sport 190, Esprit Turbo HC.

Settings:

SUSP - 75/75, 3.67/6.97, 3/3, 3/3, 4/4, 0/0, 0/0
BRKS - Racing 6/6
TRNS - Auto 149, Final Gear 3.650 - Driveline set to default after all upgrades
POWR - 100%, Tune B, Sport Comp, Sport Exh, Iso Exh Man, Sports Converter, Tuned Intake
BODY - If using custom wing LVL 10, +50kg ballast, -50 Ballast Position

I can win with this config every time. It goes down to about a 2 second victory. Very satisfying victory. Cha-Ching.

Nice run, Rufus . . . but aren't you too far North? ;)

Well, it was a close call with the Rocket... when the Rocket is the Rabbit..

He has a really long window - so long in fact that if you push him really hard he will go off course. This happened several times when we raced against him at Brands Hatch where we would put him into the sandtrap at the bottom of Hawthorne.
Here at SSR5 it's harder to get enough top end to catch his scampy little tail.

I'm really struggling with this event. Best result I've had so far is second, 13 secs behind the Rocket, in the Caterham 7. Ran with the Rocket a few times and haven't been able to find the speed in it. Jumped into the Caterham and gave it a go, near stock, and it was pretty slow (only 110hp) so I tried again by adding 100kg and upping the power (to about 146hp I think) and got a much closer race, ending 13 secs adrift.

Anyone got any advice on how to crack this one? My best lap at the moment is a low 1:33.

Use this Light Car Company Rocket' 07 tune and put the power limiter up until you get to 520PP, it wins every time if you don't make to many mistakes.

I saw somewhere else in the thread someone had tuned their Rocket to 206hp and 520kg (something around that) for a win - is it worth upping the ballast weight so you can maximise your power for this track? Lower power means slow down the long main straight...

i did exactly this with the rocket.
add 200kg extra weight (you will still be under 600Kg) and push power as possible.
you still have to carry a lot of speed through the croners and try to accelerate early as you can, but it worked for me.

Otherwise i won the Event with each of my Elises at least one time.
Choose setup a bit more save to not spin out and here aswell more power and a bit extra weight helpes a lot to me.

I tuned my Elises each to about 240 - 260 KW and should be enough for 1.30 - 1.31 laps.

if you like i post my setup for your orientation.

setup for my rocket
still not perfect but enough for a 1.29.8 lap and a total of 8.10.xxx
That should be enough for the event.

susp:
90 95
3.75 4.95
3 2
5 3
4 6
0 0
-0.10 0.45

break:
3 5

gearb:
260 kph (good if you get slipstream on the straight)

lsd:
10 20 20
tripple clutch

power:
limiter 100%
engine stage2
exhaust race
rest left standard

chassis:
200 kg at position -5%

that gives a 520PP, 151kW, 590 kg 48:52 ratio Rocket to win the Event :D

i fiddle a bit to improve the behaviour while loadchanges a bit. But the setup for me was good anyway.
You may need some laps to learn where to let it flow and where to softly break towards the apex.

good luck !
little improvement in time but feels a lot better
i will just edit the settings.
1.29.7 lap 8.09.8 total

You can maximise your power but your lap times will be slower on this track, I tried the weight and ballast and I was slower.

psssst.... Here we go...One more time.

Two other good tunes for the Rocket at 520 PP. Thank me later.

This event wasn't as difficult as I imagined. Used the Rocket and added ballast to get the PP down to regulations. No other tuning required.

Still fun. Always liked this track.

Well, finally won an event with one of my own tunes rather than someone else's.

Used my TVR Griffith tune. It can be pretty rowdy and might wash out in some corners, but I was able to take the lead by the end of the last lap from a Lotus Elise.
I was able to get within 10 seconds of the Rocket with this.

Tried some extreme changes. It made the car very dynamic but killed mid-corner speed. Slightly closer to the Rocket with it. TCS 1 helped a lot with the more dynamic tune, TCS 0 was fine with yours.

TVR Tuscan Speed 6 and TVR 350C have been mentioned. Any recommended tunes for those? Trying to win this in an FR.

Very nostalgic driving an off-white Griffith 500 around a dark city freeway network. Especially when the challenge seems just out of reach. Will the next seasonals enable a red Viper GTS to attack Grand Valley Reverse?
