Yo randys, a little correction here. Entire lap 8 still wet, so switch to racing soft before lap 9. Proof provided, i just use HSV and tune it to 600pp and still ahead 40 sec. gap. Use zytek nissan or TS030 or something much superior to achieve over 1 minutes gap with strategy provided.
 
I'm just an average driver. I beat it with the Mazda LM55 VGT yesterday but have been trying different cars today. I have been getting a bunch of those 5 second penalties from getting run into by the AI lol :/
 
While I haven't finished anywhere in the money, I really like this track. It makes my track creations seem busy and overdone. This one has just the right amount of trackside 'accoutrements'.

Yes I started on Intermediates because the first attempt the rain had got so bad by lap 2 that I spun out on RS. So with that knowledge I put on the IM and ran that one full race exactly as described.
 
Penalties really sucked on this one. One my first attempt, I made many mistakes, meaning I was neck and neck with the lead driver on the last turn on lap 10. He hits me; and guess who gets stuck with the 5 second penalty.

I beat them all by about 40 seconds on my second try, though.

That aside, this was a very fun seasonal. The track was incredibly fun- it's just a shame that we have no means of downloading it.
 
Finally earned a sweet $1mil with the HSV-010. Tried NSX, Stealth GTR ( not bad), Nomad Diablo, Woodone Supra, but just ran with the pack . Used IM and a one pit strategy. Took lead on 4th lap, just made it to pits after 5. Lost 5 places in the pits but the Chase was on. Back to 3rd in one lap as two leaders still needed to pit. Took it easy and shadowed #3, then #2 for two laps to save gas and tires. Then a race to the finish, sandbagged lap 9 to save gas, held off a charging Yellowhat on last lap for a .080 win and a red fuel gauge.

Nice S class event ! HSV don't need no LMP.

Tried it three times yesterday and kinda stumped on this one, then again I've never done a longer rain race in GT6... I guess it has to do with me not knowing the track and not knowing which tyres to use. Which % should I change at? I'm using the HSV right now, but I'll try the TS030 aswell.

Start with Racing Softs. At the end of Lap 2, change to Racing Wets. You should refuel here too. After that, you can go all the way to Lap 8, refuel and change back to Racing Softs. Bearing in mind that if you don't really conserve your tires, you'll need to pit on Lap 6; remember to refuel at every pit stop. I learned that the hard way. Should be plain sailing from there.

See, I guess I was kind of distracted yesterday because I didn't even realize I could use Racing Softs, was on hard the whole time. Will try again.
 
After someone's suggestion, tried this one today with the Greaves Motosport LMP car and it is even easier than with the Mazda! Can't remember all the details but the final run, I went with Racing softs from the start, pitted at the end of lap 1 to put Inters on, pitted again at the end of lap 5 for fresh inters and fuel and then pitted again at the end of lap 7 for racing softs and still managed to win the race by well over 30 seconds!
 
Got a second place with the HSV Base Model 11 seconds behind. Tire strategy was RS laps 1-2, IM laps 3-7, RS laps 8-10. Took just enough gas to squeak to the next stop and the finish. Will need to improve my driving in order to get the win but it's definitely within grasp. Nice Seasonal!

I just love how the game gives you 5 second penalty when you had accident and hit the barrier.

Anyway though, what's the opinion on which is better? TS030 or LM55? I have both and I think I'll just put this one under the belt and play with the intermediate, it's fun.

I haven't driven the TS030 but the Mazda is easy, mainly thanks to it's 4WD and power...I imagine the TS is about the same. If you have the Greaves Motorsport LMP2 car, you might give that one a go as, when set-up properly, it handles fantastically in this race and, imo, handles better than the Mazda

Just made it to the stop on first tank, then about half tank to get home. The fuel light was on, but I just coasted down the hill to the pits to re fuel. Had that much of a lead it didn't matter. I also made a point of driving real smooth in the first seven laps. Cheers, good luck it can be done.
 
Attempted my first try with my "GO TO" GTR GT500,, got my hind side handed to me on a silver platter - finished 15th.:banghead: Decided to check here to see what is what and found notes the Z11 and TSO30 were good to go.

Used the TSO30 (Shaun,, TY bud for yet another sweet tune 👍👍) on Intermediates (1 pit end of lap 6) for a relatively EZ win, then drove the GTR Z11 - another relatively EZ win. By now conscience was kicking in and tried the HSV GT500,, again got my rear end kicked - bailed after 6 laps,, so far behind it was doubtful I'd finish by this time next week!!

Did a few practice runs to find a more in control tempo then hopped in the Toyota Supra GT500 - did much better job of throttle control, holding a better line and finished 1st with a scant .039 second lead. S'OK,, .039 seconds werks fer me!:O

I'll be joining many others who really like this one to rack up more $1M credits. It's alot more fun and more rewarding than Quick Match. Now to see just how many other hot rods we can work our way to the finish line and score a WIN!! Good on ya PD and PLEEZE keep these fun runs coming!!

So far, this is the one tune that has guaranteed people the gold trophy for this event from my garage.

*Update: Tried the Vision AMG VGT RC - way too heavy after detuning,, 3 laps in doesn't appear it can be in the picture to podium. Next tried the Vision Alpine RC - WOW!! With a GhostRider tune, on IM's all the way and 1 pit this little car blew the field away! The ease with which it handled the rain, the air brakes allowing a VERY deep entry into wet corners and the engine sound made driving this little car a blast.

I thought: low drag means low fuel consumption, means less pitstops means being faster. So i bought/undusted my deltawinga and the nissan gtr lmp 2015 (yes the ff one) and (as you mifht expect) i failed miserably. The nissan might be able to do it (i did not realy tune it) and the deltawing was near impossible. I worked around the understeer issue. And it drove quite nuce. But when you start skidding it would spin. So if you are up for a challenge: tune the deltawing or the 2015 gtr lmp to do this.

And do not trust the game for fuel, when doing a 1 pitstop strategy tank extra fuel (learned this the hard way losing a 30ish second lead)
 
I did the first race with the Mazda LM55
IM, pit lap 5, IM. Easy.

So changed strategy, T030, RS, pit lap 2, full wets, pit lap 7, race hard to catch the rabbit. Great race.
 
I raced a few times with the Audi Prototype R18 detuned to 600pp. But it didn't handle well for me in the wet, although I did get a 2:15.1 in the dry with RS tires. I mostly learned the track, lots of off track excursions the first 3 tries.
I switched to the asshat...uh, yellow hat GT-R after seeing it won each race, thinking it would be much slower. Although my best lap was .5 slower, my worst laps were faster, in the wet on IM's.

How is a detuned prototype race car slower and much harder to drive in the wet? Shouldn't it have FAR more downforce?

Anyway, I won by 26 seconds or so with the Yellow Hat GT-R and it turned out to be a blast to drive and can be slid a bit precictably(because SRF on?).

I ran RS two laps, pitted with fuel and went to IW, then pitted again at lap 8's end, taking fuel and RS tires. I came out of the pit as car 2 passed for the lead, passed him and walked away to a 26 second margin in Two Laps.
 
Wow, I must really suck( also crappy 3rd party controller), I would of finished 11th, 1:14 behind first place, using the LM55
 
Used the Toyota TS030 Hybrid '12 (Shaunm80 tune) with Intermediate tyres, took the lead in lap 3, pitted-in in lap 6 for new tyres and fuel and finished 56 secs in front at the finish. Best lap a modest 2:17.
Mind you I had plenty of starts while learning the track.
