 that is one good lookin' tower. 4 towers, all those windows :drunk: it is crazy looking. But a good idea.

Speaking as an architect, it doesn't do much for me. And I'd love to know who this "Mr. Derek G. Turner" is, since the site seems to regard him as the Second Coming of Architecture.

Also, most of the verbage is total and complete bullpuckey, especially the safety items.

IT'S A CONCEPT PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOOK AT THE WEBSITE THOUGHLY THEN SAY SOMETHING

I did. My comments and questions stand.

Well, that's an easy one to answer. The domain is registered to "Derek G Turner" of "Turning House Limited".

I think I'm going to use one of my domains to just toot my own horn as well...

HAHAHAHAHAH well I guess shameless self-promotion is what the web is all about.

From now on I'd like you all to refer to me as "Mr. Duke A. Williams". Thank you for your cooperation.

Interesting... I'm not crazy about that design, but I do like the idea of planting a tree for each victim of the attacks.

the way i look at it is that if they build it and they try to crash two planes into it again it would not colapse because of the 5th tower in the middle ware all the lifts and stuff are so it is kind of the old WTC Tube design mixed with new elaments plus it is one floor higher and then it would be the tallest building in the world

That is one of the most beautiful skyscrapers ive ever seen, I hope whatever is going to be built there will be bigger then the twins.

Why would they build it higher than the Sears Tower?

Ya, I admit, I've always been stumped by that. I don't understand the reasoning behind building the tallest building in the world.

Now, the WTC was the tallest and I can see having some pride in that, since it was a great use of space (all office space), however, they had to stick an enormous spire at the top of the building to take the "tallest" title.

Hell, Canada has the CN Tower, which has held the title for ages, and it is just an observation tower. Nothin' to do there, other than tour up to the top and look out.

<shrug>

Actually, the tallest building in the world is in Kuala Lampur, believe it or not.

And the reason people build tall tall buildings is to demonstrate economic power. Which is precisely why Bin Laden was obsessed with knocking the WTC down.

Btw - neon_duke - we hijacked another thread - lol
Hmmm! I had thought the Kuala Lampur building was tallest, too. My mistake. I knew it was close to the CN Tower but I thought Sears Tower was third and CN second. That's a very interesting link; thanks for posting it.

ethanol - we'll call ourselves the "Thread Pirates"! *runs Jolly Roger up the masthead*
