The title says it all...another reason not to drive (too) fast. Speedo reads ~90 mph (or is it kph?) on impact. Happened in poland.

first of all, this is an Audi A3, not A4.

second of all, it is 100% not poland.
1) You're right, I took a 2nd look and it seems it is an A3. My bad, I'll cange the thread title.

2) How do you know? The site I found them at said it was Poland.

Holy mother of god that was a big hit - that platform is a very sturdy one, not often you see a three door torn in half like that.

I gather by the white sheets and the presence of the ambulance that the owner wasn't making an insurance claim the following day.

...and that, kids, is the reason why you don't get crash damage in the Gran Turismo series. Cars break in half in 90mph impacts - and by my personal standards, that would be a small one...

How come the airbag didn't pop? There should be sufficient damage for it to open, even if, in this case, it's not like it would have saved a life.

No frontal impact.

No frontal impact.

But considering the amount of front end damage, it technically should have exploded. I mean, the whole front end is basically gone, and there are sensors behind the bumper, usually!

Yeah, but there was no hit on the front bumper, where the sensors are - most of the front end damage was caused by the engine being torn out.

When I first saw the title, I thought it was A3 paper wrapped around a tree.

Anyway, that's one messed up piece of scrap metal. :scared:

oh my god. how in hell did he do to turn the car into that pile of scrap? I mean, how did he hit the tree to do that? he cut the car i half!!! I dont even want to think what happened to the driver, and even worse, the passenger, if there was one!!

I'm wondering what piece of the drivers body hit the steering wheel hard enough to do that. :scared:

It doesn't actually take that much strenght to bend a steering wheel like that. It's designed to bend on impact to minimize damage to the chest where it usually hits on collision..

I looks like he hit more than one tree, like the car slid off the road and started bouncing off trees until it came to rest. That does not look like a surviveable crash.

Anyone have some Excedrin Migraine??? Someone is going to wake up with a huge headache tomorrow with a crash like that. . . I don't really see any blood anywhere in that crash. . . It looked like there was some discolorization on the dash. . . Defiantely went to the hospital with internal bleeding. . .

Who is up for a game of pinball???
