Unlocked the Typhoon!

Great plane. Gives my L3 Mirage a run for it's money when it comes to ground targets so I should hopefully see a few more MVPs with this baby. Working towards completing the challenge from Europe before it ends next week.

The game is hardly pay to win sometimes, the Scarface and Phoenix emblems were a tournament thing in which the top 1000 player would get both of them, the the next 5000 top scoring player would get the Phoenix emblem and the top 15000 would get the mercenary emblem.

I got in 2197 back in that, and I have never put a cent in that game (though I will buy the full campaign access at some point), is more about being MVP all the time, having done that for nearly all the matches would have given me that, so you could have expend x money in fuel stock during the whole tournament and get it, or be properly good and get it.

So a new tournament is set to begin in two days time. Up for grabs is the Wardog F-14A, the Osean Federation insignia, nicknames, credits, and research reports. If you get the F-14A, and you happen to MVP with it, music from AC5 will play. Don't know which music exactly.

The F-14A though is only for players ranked 1-1000, and the roundel is from 1000-10000 I think. Me thinks I will have to play this game as a marathon this upcoming weekend.
 
I'll be at the Corvette Museum tomorrow, as I'm running short on fuel and close to buying the Typhoon. I'd better wait for the Wardog event.
 
Has anyone done the F-14 Challenge that refills your supplied fuel? Is it a one shot deal, or does it reset daily like the F-16 and Mirage supplied fuel challenges?
 
Aw man I just saw that my F-14A is only level 5, and I know for a fact that yahoos already have Level 10 Top Gun Maverick stuff for it.

I want to at least finish above rank 10,000 so I can get the Osea Federation roundel. It will also probably help if I actually started this tourney too...:irked:

My Tomcat is at level 7 with 6AAM. Those missles will come in handy when you get them. Anyhow, i'm trying to pass 5000 in the ranks for the Wardog emblem.

EDIT: When you realise the Typhoon is nearly 500k! :banghead:

I know I won't get near top 1000 on either event, so my plan is to try and get under 10000 for the general plane and under 50000 for the Tomcat. Definitely not hard to stay under 50k, and with so many people focusing on the F-14 it's pretty easy to stay around 10k in the general event.

And I thought the A-10 was expensive at 200k. Yikes, 500k.
 
Time to grind again ...


Tired of the same scenarios, I can dump some time in the game but the same levels are getting really weary now.
 
Just started playing this game yesterday, piqued my interest greatly.

Just bought the F-14A Tomcat.
 
I beat the Moby Dick with my F-14A Tomcat on a 3x fuel bonus. Got the Zipang and many other things tonight. I like the F-14's stats compared to my other ships.
