Did you click yes or no to the browser enhancer because if those pop-ups come up I either right click on the bottom toolbar to close the window or if that doesn't work then I manually end the program in Task Manager. I don't seem to get any adware. :D

I don't get any adware or spyware. I use Firefox. :D

Lyrics.com is f'ing evil! What really ticks me off is that they get about half the Google hits for anything I search for. Sooooo irritating.

Or even worse - "Congratulations - You've just installed Real Player!"

 That gave me quite a tickle, I must admit.

Silverzone - I notice quite a tiny scrollbar there on the right hand side. How many frickin porn sites do you surf, dude?

No, kidding - you really should try and run a virus scan every time you click the "Disconnect from the internet" button - but you know this, you watch the news, you're obviously computer literate.

Another thing with these Ad-Aware, and Spybot, and Spyware Blaster, and all these other programs - they're a false sense of security. I had a guy come in today because some porno spyware thingy had taken over his homepage, I went into the registry and deleted it, changed the hompage back to the default through Internet Options, gave the PC a good restart and then loaded up the internet and the page was still this damn hijacked one. Had to spring a full format on the guy, told him to come back the next day.

About yer hi jack, there's a little utility called CWShredder that has fixed 99.8% of the Hi Jacks I've encoutered... A little easier than having to do a complete re-install ;)

The guy has a few more tricks up his sleeve you'll find when you check the page !... Ad ware / malware / spyware etc. designers must really really hate him !..

Ohh... I know it's not free, but I highly recommend SpySweeper from webroot... A nasty little program that'll check everything that gets on your computer while surfing.. And block it !...

this is from my comp at work, and for as much as I know, it has not gone to any porn sites. and adware doesn't only come from porn sites.

I just got rid of AIM. I had it for about a week. I did an Ad-Aware scans every day. I was getting between 9 and 15 spy ware a day from it. Try this, open and close AIM. Then, do an Ad-Aware scan and clear everyting. Open AIM. Do another Ad-Aware search. Scarry, isn't it?

Exactly why I don't use AIM as often as I used to. The pop ups are also getting pretty bad. 👎

I'll probably switch over to another messaging program. Any recommendations? MSN? ICQ??

MSN is awesome. But, it doesn't have the features that AIM did. But, I don't care. It's easier to use. And, it just looks better, IMO.

MSN.. They're taking over the world anyway - Why not join sooner instead of later ;)
